It would take a while for the crowd to get themselves out of their...jam. This in turn provided a perfect opportunity for the pair to disappear back down toward the vault that they had been desperate to breach this entire time.

Cyutadakyr simply stared blankly as he blurted out his fears. The gears began to turn in her head after watching him lying down panicked, surrounded by children with no other context provided, meant that she naturally misunderstood. "Then get snipped, Patchy," came the bemused reply.

Soon they left the main attraction and departed below, at first following Kai along the long windy corridors until at some point she released that he'd somehow slunk behind. At last, they reached the strange looking pair of doors, which immediately drew her curiosity and disgust.

Glancing back over her shoulder to check for Kai, whatever it was he was doing, it was clear that she'd have to take charge, and take charge she would. "Stay close.." She whispered, approaching the doors while contemplating jump scaring the fox.

Suddenly the heads all began to shuffle and rotate, an amalgamation, an abomination or perhaps a simple trick causing them to move. In an instant reaction, the pureblood jumped backward and motioned her hands defensively as lightning crackled at her fingertips. "What the literal FUCK is that."

The first puppet, from the bottom, promptly answered. "I could say the same to you, barging in all like that." The second puppet, from the top, responded in kind. "Go away, we're busy."

Taking a few moments to recover, Cyu glared at Kai for surprising her with this shit and not elaborating further. When it was apparent that the eldritch horror of an entrance was not in fact about to attack, she slowly lowered her hands. Approaching just slightly closer, she simply stated a fact. "We wish to pass." Stopping once, they began speaking again.

The first puppet, from the top, remarked. "You can't pass, not without solving the riddle!" Even without looking back to Kai, he'd know the look she was giving. Of course, there was a riddle. "Go on." She answered, unamused.

The second puppet, from the bottom, proposed the riddle with appropriate flair. "One door leads to the vault, the other to certain death." Looking between the two, the puppet continued. "You may ask one question to one guard, you pick."

That seemed simple enough.

The first puppet, from the bottom, remarked as if seeing her thoughts. "But there's a catch, one guard always lies." The second puppet from the top, in turn. "And the other always tells the truth. Go on, ask a question."

Cyutadakyr looked back to Kai to ask, but his eyes were strewn with fear. Looking back to the doors, she studied both, finding no difference between them other than the guards. Nothing to give away the ploy, in fact there was always the risk that this was a trap, and they'd soon find themselves running once more.

After a minute to consider her options, it was her turn to pose a question. "Which door would the other guard say leads out?" And in unison, both guards pointed to the left door.

Turning to Kai again, with a modicum of confidence, she mused. "Take the right door, you first, since you're such a great help."

Kai almost ran again when the stupid puppets started talking. He felt better when Cherry had the same reaction, her shuffling back almost taking him out right then. When he glared at her, he glared right back in a ‘I FUCKING TOLD YOU’ sort of way. What more appropriate name could he have given them than crotch puppets?! Kai remained a respectable distance away as the riddle was spoken.

Why the hell wasn’t Cherry just blasting them or torturing for information? Kai glared at her, “Do telepathy and get the right answer!” He hissed, but she was insistent on following the riddle. Great, she was probably another acolyte after all. Kai growled to himself, walking towards the right door. He pushed it open and started descending down the stairs towards a dark corridor. Fortunately, thanks to his fox traits, he could see particularly well in the dark. Out of sheer pettiness he mentioned nothing about a slightly broken step, gingerly stepping around it. She would likely take a nice little tumble down the rest of the flight. He braced himself by placing a hand on the railing so she couldn’t take him out in case his plan actually worked.

Regardless of what happened, the path led to an open hall lit up by torches. Right away he noticed there was no real path out other than the way they came. Kai spotted a few different boxes, but he had no idea which one contained the saber. Damn, he realized he needed to lean on her yet again. At this rate, he was going to have to really give her the lion’s share of the spoils.

“Look, Cherry,” He said very seriously as he turned to face her in his bow tie and with her absurd tutu, “The thing I’m looking for once belonged to a Sith. We don’t have much time, so can you uh..do.. Force Radar or something?” He recalled when Param could sense the Sith holocron. Surely Cherry could sense the presence of Darth Maul’s saber? He hated the fact that she could very well just kill him and leave with it, but he was running out of options. His only saving grace was that he was her only ride off. It wouldn’t be long before authorities raided this place, and he didn’t have time to open each box like a woman at a baby shower.

The pureblood was quite proud of herself for solving the riddle, despite the numerous obstacles set in her path. There was still the possibility of certain death if she had gotten it wrong, but luckily that's where her foxy friend came in. His fast reflects in the face of mortal peril meant that at the very least Cyu would get sufficient warning, maybe he would also, who knew.

But as it turned out, they had indeed picked the right door, and the screams she expected to hear never came. Instead, Cyutadakyr waltzed up confidently to the closed door with a look of indignation before landing a blow squarely upon its stupid face with petty glee. In a hurry, the pureblood skirted down the open doors stairs to ensure that Kai wouldn't get too far. Just because she'd opened the door didn't mean he wouldn't do so, she assumed.

In her hurried state, she barely had time to register the shape ahead of her as being her companion before completely fumbling her step, as the missing step threw out her stride. In an instant, the tumbling fruit came crashing down, slamming straight into the braced fox and even attempting to clamber on failing, Cyu resigned her fate to what was sure to come next.

Due to her outfitting choices, Kai would watch as Cyu not only fell over but rolled sideways the entire staircase down before coming to an unceremonious stop at the bottom. Grumpy as all hell, she attempted to jump up and show him the force radar she had hidden in her fist when..

Oh, no.

She was stuck wedged up between the floor and the wall.

And he saw this.

His petty move worked out far too well. He stared in wonder as Cherry not only took a tumble but managed to get stuck in a wedge between the wall and the floor. In fact, she was awkwardly positioned with her legs flailing. Kai didn’t know whether to laugh or cry, because he needed her to get her shit together for them both. The Fiani rubbed his temples as he descended down.

“Okay stop moving,” He barked at her, grabbing her by the legs and pulling back. She was seriously stuck in there, and now they were wasting time with tug of war. After a lot of cursing, complaining and bickering, Kai finally managed to yank her out. The force sent them both tumbling and she landed directly atop him, “Ugh!” He snapped, some of the netting from the stupid dress practically shoving into his mouth. He spat it out and scrambled out from under her, bolting towards the cargo.

Kai pulled out his fusion cutter to start quickly cutting open cargo boxes, “We have no time, let me know if you sense anything!” He said urgently.

He didn’t hear anyone arriving just yet, so they had a small window to still search for the artifact.

Cyutadakyr couldn't decide whether to laugh or cry, a strange mixture of both flooding her senses. She'd have torn the costume to shreds had she not assumed she needed it to escape, although at this point the pureblood was beginning to reach the end of her tether as the tug of war progressed.

With a heave and a ho, together they finally managed to pull her from bondage, but not before she in turn smothered him. Pulling herself up onto her feet with a hearty scowl, Cyu glared at Kai for a moment before looking over the boxes.

For her, the target was blindingly obvious, the dark energies lingering and swirling around the ancient artifact made it clear as day. Before them were four boxes of all similar size and stature, a few metres apart. It wasn't the only thing she sensed, but for now she simply pointed toward the second box from the left.

"That one." She confidently stated. The lock itself did not appear to be custom or particularly difficult, and so she assumed that he would be able to complete the task quickly. As soon as he would move to start working, Cyu turned her attention to the furtherest most box to the right, curious, more than anything.

"Do hurry."
She warned, he would of course assume she meant the danger that waited for them above rather than what in fact lurked just a few meters away. Maybe they wouldn't wake it, maybe Cyu wouldn't have to share. Who knew?

He hoped her Force Radar worked and he scrambled over to work on breaking in. It wasn’t a particularly difficult lock, and he could have it undone within moments. His keen hearing picked up Cherry shuffling over behind him, but he paid it no heed for now. In the middle of his unlocking, he was distracted by something shiny. Kai looked to the side and saw some dazzling crystals in a chest. Temporarily forgetting about their original objective, he started rummaging through this new chest to pocket some of the crystals.

Meanwhile, Cherry would find herself in a whole new battle of her own. It was a mano e mano conflict of epic proportions. It was man vs. wild. It was the forces of evil vs. evil. It was Cyu vs….a box. It came alive and an unnaturally long tentacle tongue shot out from it. Now, perhaps the Purbelood wouldn’t mind this under other circumstances (we don’t kink shame), but there was no happy ending here. The massive appendage would easily wrap around her waist and yank her towards the box which opened a maw with serrated teeth and ready to snap shut and swallow her whole.

Kai was still sifting through the crystals with Cherry flailing around mid-air behind him. The Fiani finally looked over his shoulder, “WHAT THE FUCK!” Kai initially considered just leaving her to her fate. However, he remembered that he likely needed her help in breaking out of this place with all the delaying they were doing.

“THROW ME YOUR SABER!” He screeched. She had to have it on her, right? With horror, he hoped she didn’t pull a Ruby and stuff it somewhere to hide it in a crisis. Kai looked around and picked up what looked like an ornate tea set. He grimaced at the fine quality of it before slamming it against a wall. Using the sharp edges, he tried to get a shot at the tentacle thing to cut it. He only partially succeeded - Cherry may not be eaten, but there was no preventing injury.

As if the day couldn't have gotten any worse, somehow it still found a way. Caught unaware by the freakishly powerful monster lurking within the furtherest box, Cyu suddenly found herself thrust up and away from the familiar feeling of being upright and on solid ground. This was remarkably similar in flair to a previous experience, but with several more rows of teeth than when the Dathomirian did it, and certainly less crunchy.

"Stooop" She shouted. "Pooking.." Louder each time. "Meeeee." Try as he might with noble intentions, each time Kai attempted to slice at the monster with the precious tea cups, he also risked slicing and dicing the pureblood. Taking some damage in the frantic melee was quite unavoidable, as the scratches began to pile up.

Now seemed quite the improper timing to illuminate Kai on the proper chain of ownership one might acquire when dealing in the Sith Arts. Cyutadakyr may have gone to the Wookiee lands with two, but in the maelstrom of combat, she returned with none. An inconvenient truth if ever there was one, but time had proven on more than one occasion that the Pureblood was quite capable of dealing with problems without it.

Of course, Kai being so preoccupied with fidgit spinners or whatever, had neglected to actually seize what it was they were after. It was only as they arrived in the room had she connected the dots and realised, to some extent, what the proper prize was.

In a slight hurry due to the impending digestion, Cyu flailed about attempting to reach out with the force. For his part, Kai's distraction worked, as the monster slowed its movement with Cyu and instead began to hungrily look toward the Fiani.

Taking advantage of the distraction, Cyu utilised the numerous torches lit in the room by way of pyrokinesis, swirling and twirling the flames into one with the aim of fully and entirely scorching the damn thing into a overly well-done brisket.

Of course she didn’t throw him a saber or anything useful. Instead she kept complaining while flailing around like a rag doll. Kai growled to himself, sometimes nicking the tongue and sometimes scratching her. However, him being a nuisance finally paid off as the thing released her. Kai saw the box turning its attention on him, but miraculously the Sith actually capitalized on that window to scorch it instead of watching him get eaten. The Fiani wasn’t sure if the move would kill it entirely, but he launched himself back at the box with the artifact, picking up from where he left off.

After a bit of tweaking the lock snapped open and peeked inside. Kai grabbed the hilt and ignited the red blade. It felt completely uneasy and almost made him puke, but he couldn’t falter now. Cherry’s attack on the box left it reeling, but it wasn’t out just yet. Kai leapt towards it from the side, using the saber to thrust the blade right into the box. Thankfully, it proved to be effective, the unnatural thing collapsing in on itself.

Kai didn’t waste anytime, grabbing the box of crystals under one arm and keeping the saber hilt in his hand, “Take what you want from here, but we have to go now!” He called out to Cherry. He knew she was injured, but couldn’t tell immediately since she was so…red. The Fiani started bolting up the stairs.

By now, he saw some of the Sarkan guards arriving, but Kai was able to surprise them with a stab. The Fiani could tell the party commotion was still happening upstairs. Kai stashed the saber away, looking at Cherry, “We need disguises if we don't want to be followed,” He said. He looked around and grabbed the helmet of the reptile he downed. He shoved the small helmet over his head, smooshing his ears but hiding his face.

“Where is your head?” Kai asked urgently, his voice half mumbly thanks to the tiny helmet.

There was only a moment's rest for Cyu as Kai finally figured out turning her into Swiss cheese was only partially helping, before in turn finally seizing what it was they had gone through all this trouble for. It was then and there that she finally saw it ignite and, with a flash, dispatch the horrid beast once and for all.

"Thanks." she barely got out from under her breath before the Fiani darted off with his loot. Taking a quick glance around, she settled upon picking up one particularly large crystal, along with the frustratingly stupid looking cherry helmet she had been wearing all night. Making her way up the stairs in time to see the panicking Kai, she rolled her eyes. "On my shoulders." Before actually revealing, the helmet had been held behind her back somewhat.

Now completing her outfit, she pointed the Fiani forward. "I'm sure you'll blend in just well with half a serving outfit and the head of a guard, maybe in their confusion we can escape." She said a little sarcastically.

In the commotion, the crotch puppets had been just a few meters behind them where the pair had originally entered the vault at the top of the stairs. Entirely scared of conflict, they had been largely quiet and might only be noticed if Kai looked back.

To exit out the main entrance would be impossible, as that's where the party largely would be and therefore the guards. But Kai hadn't used that one, she suspected, considering his outfit. "Can you get us out via the way you came in? Or must I carve a new path."

Kai glared at Cherry, “I see your head is finally appropriately sized,” He said dryly through all her huffing and puffing. She acted hilariously elitist for being a fruit dressed in a tutu. The Fiani started scrambling back towards the path they came, his ‘disguise’ just as stupid as it sounded. He ran right past the crotch puppets, because NOPE, and back towards the main hall.

Unfortunately, most of the hall was cleared away and it looked like the guards had the remaining guests huddled in the same spot to question them. Kai and Cherry bursting into the scene carrying stolen goods wouldn’t bode well. Cursing himself, Kai quietly gestured to go in another direction. He found a spiraling staircase that led to the upper levels. Fortunately, these parts of the palace were empty on account everyone being on the level below.

Kai eventually found a study off to the side with a balcony. The Fiani moved the curtains aside and peered over the edge, “Okay, can you climb down?” He asked. He climbed over the balcony and dropped to the ledge below. He would keep climbing down quietly until he reached the bottom, his superior reflexes and light bearing allowing him to navigate this easily.

Assuming that Cherry managed to make her way down without incident, Kai would start booking it across a courtyard garden to finally exit the area and towards his ship.

"Keep up, Cherry!" He called out.

He'd of seen the saltiest glare coming from Cyu yet, if it wasn't for the crispy cherry smile that her costume projected. Fortunately, Patchy seemed to be a quick decision maker when it came to debating whether to go another round with the crotch puppets or not. Evidently choosing the latter, Cyu was in hot pursuit and in no time reached the balcony overlooking their escape route.

"Every-fucking-mission.." She muttered angrily, just under her breath. It was always climb this, or fall down that. Why couldn't she get a simple walk out at ground level job once in awhile. The pureblood mused, if she ever had her own complex it would all be on one level.

Using the force to guide her descent, Cyutadakyr made it down without incident. Apparently choosing to play it safe rather than risk the wrath of lady luck. Once off the palace grounds, Cyu felt a bit more confident that they had managed to slip the guards, at least for now.

Ripping the costumes head off her own, the beads of sweat flowed freely after their excursion picked up pace. "I'm stewing in this shit." She exclaimed. "How much further?" She hoped that his little line about getting off the planet was true, as skeptical as she was.

Fortunately, the journey away from the palace was actually clear. Most of the chaos was within the palace walls and many hadn’t even realized what happened. There would be panic about lightsabers at some point, but the two had made an exit before anything could be linked to them. Kai spotted his janky ship up ahead and he clicked the button to lower the ramp, “Man..just when I was starting to get comfortable in this city,” He lamented.

Kai walked up the ramp of the ship, Cherry right behind him. She would hit her head on the doorway and have to adjust it to enter the ship. His ship was in a discreet location where they were safe for now. Kai heaved a sigh of relief, glancing back at Cherry to see how she was faring.

“I have medpacks, where are you hurt?” He asked, quickly retrieving the items in question. Despite being a general jerk, he did feel somewhat responsible for the random cuts she had on her. She had been surprisingly chill about it and he didn’t feel like getting on a Sith’s bad side now that things were calm.

It shouldn't have been a surprise that Patchy would have a ship that wasn't looking any better put together than his vault plan. Their little trip was coming to a close, and Cyutadakyr was extremely happy to be leaving it behind. "Comfortable is not the word I'd use." Chafing with every step.

Bonking her head as she entered the ship, she let out a small yelp. How in the frick did she not manage to see him duck, considering he was several inches taller, after all. With one hand on her forehead, and the other scratching at her hip, she raised her shoulders at his question, answering sarcastically. "You should know, you did most of it."

Not that it was in the top ten worst things that she had gone through, if anything it had been a fun evening. Although now safely on the ship, she was determined to vacate the abominable heat box that was the Cherry costume. With a quick flick of her arm behind, Cyu slipped the zipper down, watching the outfit tumble to the floor.

"Much better." She stated matter-of-factly, her black lacy undergarments still providing a modicum of modesty. The lesser layers would at last reveal the scars of misfortune that had laid bare Cyutadakyr's eventful career, and illuminate more than she ever would. "You got a coat or something my size?" She finally inquired.

Kai walked back with a few medpacks, thinking about which jump coordinates would take them out of here the soonest. His thoughts were on the loot - despite the mishaps, he scored far better than he expected. He had a saber worth a fortune and multiple crystals to sell. It was the perfect payday and he was in a great mood. He was going right to the Corpo Sector after dropping the Sith off to blow most of his cash instead of doing anything responsible.

The Fiani turned the corner with the boxes, cigarra dangling from the corner of his lips, “All right, let’s-” The cigarra almost fell entirely from his mouth, but his slick reflexes caught it between dexterous fingers to place it back in his mouth. He hadn’t expected to come across a Pureblood woman in lacy underwear standing around in the lounge of his ship. His brain briefly turned to mush and he began to forget all his own rules.

His single eye did a shameless onceover as he pondered her question. Kai took a particularly long drag as if appraising a work of art. After a moment, he exhaled the heavy cloud of smoke, “Nah, I only got about my size” He said flatly, as he stepped forth, his tail circling around closer to her but only grazing against a thigh if she didn’t look like she was going to lightning him, “But I’m sure I can keep you warm, Cherry.”

The crimson woman was no stranger to her own body, each line and scar held its own story. Nor was she foreign to using its form to her own ends. Eyes glancing upward from the floor to meet his, she drew a faint coy smile as he approached. "Oohh...Patchy.." She suggestively spoke, entirely wrapping him up in her presence.

Slipping closer, his tail slide across her thigh, eliciting a wave of goose bumps to trail up her body. Her opal white eyes, relishing the sight before her, showed nothing but longing for his. A hand came to his face, her soft red knuckles gently gliding across the Fiani's cheek. Slowly rotating to take hold of the back of his head as she turned the heat up by taking control of his body.

Blushing, in a way only a pureblood could, she again looked up into his eye, seemingly begging a kiss. But the crimson siren had yet to reach the climax of her song, ensnared as the fox might be. In a simple, yet indifferent movement, Cyutadakyr pushed him back, clearly showing her disinterest. "I'm sorry, I tried." she winced a little. "Men usually aren't my thing, if you catch my drift."

He'd used her to solve his problems, and now she'd use him to solve her own. A simple transaction that needn't be complicated by frivolous activities, nor could she afford to take her attention off him until he had completed his part of the deal.

The last thing anyone needed was her doing something stupid.
