It would take a while for the crowd to get themselves out of their...jam. This in turn provided a perfect opportunity for the pair to disappear back down toward the vault that they had been desperate to breach this entire time.
Cyutadakyr simply stared blankly as he blurted out his fears. The gears began to turn in her head after watching him lying down panicked, surrounded by children with no other context provided, meant that she naturally misunderstood. "Then get snipped, Patchy," came the bemused reply.
Soon they left the main attraction and departed below, at first following Kai along the long windy corridors until at some point she released that he'd somehow slunk behind. At last, they reached the strange looking pair of doors, which immediately drew her curiosity and disgust.
Glancing back over her shoulder to check for Kai, whatever it was he was doing, it was clear that she'd have to take charge, and take charge she would. "Stay close.." She whispered, approaching the doors while contemplating jump scaring the fox.
Suddenly the heads all began to shuffle and rotate, an amalgamation, an abomination or perhaps a simple trick causing them to move. In an instant reaction, the pureblood jumped backward and motioned her hands defensively as lightning crackled at her fingertips. "What the literal FUCK is that."
The first puppet, from the bottom, promptly answered. "I could say the same to you, barging in all like that." The second puppet, from the top, responded in kind. "Go away, we're busy."
Taking a few moments to recover, Cyu glared at Kai for surprising her with this shit and not elaborating further. When it was apparent that the eldritch horror of an entrance was not in fact about to attack, she slowly lowered her hands. Approaching just slightly closer, she simply stated a fact. "We wish to pass." Stopping once, they began speaking again.
The first puppet, from the top, remarked. "You can't pass, not without solving the riddle!" Even without looking back to Kai, he'd know the look she was giving. Of course, there was a riddle. "Go on." She answered, unamused.
The second puppet, from the bottom, proposed the riddle with appropriate flair. "One door leads to the vault, the other to certain death." Looking between the two, the puppet continued. "You may ask one question to one guard, you pick."
That seemed simple enough.
The first puppet, from the bottom, remarked as if seeing her thoughts. "But there's a catch, one guard always lies." The second puppet from the top, in turn. "And the other always tells the truth. Go on, ask a question."
Cyutadakyr looked back to Kai to ask, but his eyes were strewn with fear. Looking back to the doors, she studied both, finding no difference between them other than the guards. Nothing to give away the ploy, in fact there was always the risk that this was a trap, and they'd soon find themselves running once more.
After a minute to consider her options, it was her turn to pose a question. "Which door would the other guard say leads out?" And in unison, both guards pointed to the left door.
Turning to Kai again, with a modicum of confidence, she mused. "Take the right door, you first, since you're such a great help."
