Welcome to the planet Naboo. A gorgeous planet with many noble families and of course it's very own Queen. The planet has been one of the main components in the creation and foundation of the ISC. In return the ISC is stationing soldiers in their Army and Navy to the planet at a new post known as Fort Regalton. CPL Ryan Fields has been instructed to give a class on the safety protocols on the weapon systems that the soldiers would be operating. CPL Fields wasn't too excited for this, but hey.. orders are orders. So as the group would be filling into the class, CPL Fields would be placing different weapons on the table in front of him, and setting up a slide show for the troops to watch.

On the table can be seen, various different weapons. All of which are different sizes, shapes, and calibers. One of which would be the SX-21 Scatterblaster. A very dangerous but versatile weapon. Commonly used in close quarters combat. Next would be the GLIE 44 Blaster Pistol. The secondary weapon for all ISC Army Specialists. Next would be the BM-548 Blaster Rifle, then BM-792 Zok 10 Rifle, FWMB 10 Repeater, and PLX Rocket Launcher. All are different primary weapons within a full squad of Specialists. All used effectively by the operator to successfully defend the soldiers of the ISC as well as the civilians within the ISC territory.

As troops began to enter the room Fields would survey the room and see the different faces he would be trusting his life with.

"Welcome to Fort Regalton and the first day of being an ISC Specialist in the ISC Army. Take your seats. I am Corporal Ryan Fields, you will address me as Corporal (CPL), or CPL Fields. We do last names here, as they are the ones presented on your tags, and helmets. We will start this class with introduction. Starting from my left, your right. You.. "

Fields pointed his finger towards the soldier to the left of him. They looked new, as he noticed their gear looked freshly handed out.

"State your name and where you come from. I want to keep introductions short as I only have a couple hours to brief you on the weapons safety before we move on to in field training. Now go ahead."

”Recruit Espaa, Sir. I mean... uh, Corporal.”

This was strange. To say the least, as Brea had never once considered joining a military branch until this past week. With the AMS pandemic quickly becoming an extinction level event - and every member of her family acting accordingly to try and slow it’s pace - spirited her into action. Through the advice of her father and the contacts of her cousins, the former shipwright had garnered a position as a trainee in a specialist cadre of the Independent Systems Consortium. Neither Gram nor Eileen had been a member of a military, but both had experience in paramilitary organizations. Whereas Adair, her father, had served in a number of planetary militias in his lifetime. Their foreknowledge and wisdom was invaluable even now.

“I’m a Vahla, corporal, green as they come. First time in a combat profession...”

Though the Corporal wasn’t an officer, and Brea knew she was going to be chastised for addressing him as such, she did mentally congratulate herself. It was better to address a superior as a rank above their own, than to demote them due to ignorance. One was like to earn a reprimand, the other a tirade of never ending insults. Or so the Vahla had been told. She was already at attention, arms flat against her sides and level with the seams of her new-fangled field uniform. It was in very good order, mainly due to it being brand new, the Corporal would find little but dust on the boots to criticize.

“... I was once a civilian shipwright, Corporal, with a speciality in engineering and metallurgy. If it’s mechanical, I can fix it.”

Taris was long behind the young man that now stood before the mirror in his quarters, inspecting the new uniform he had received. Pride filled the recruit for this was the first time since that fateful day during the invasion that he would get to be a part of something bigger than himself. Something more than being in a group of thugs infiltrating rival warehouses and storerooms in search of an easy score. Something more than wearing gang colours in dingy cantinas. Today, he was Tandon Fell, ISC recruit. Today he was taking a step towards becoming a man, his only regret being that his mother was not here to see it. Adjusting the collar to ensure a neat and sharp appearance, Fell smiled at his reflection. No doubt, she would be overwhelmed with joy seeing her son as he was now.

His short escapade with the Mandalorians during his escape from the invasion of Taris had instilled a new sense of duty in Tandon. Seeing them working together, precise and deadly, it was all he could think about since parting ways with them. He wanted desperately to be just like them; fighting for those who could not fight for themselves. He wanted to be a warrior, he wanted the honor of being at the forefront of battle but he wanted to fight for the right reasons. It was this ambition that had brought him to enlist with the newly formed ISC military and what brought him to Naboo.

Standing in line with the rest of the group as they congregated in the classroom, Tandon stood tall and at attention until the Corporal instructed them to take their seats, sliding into the chair next to a young woman who would proceed to introduce herself. It seemed he was next.

”Tandon Fell, Corporal sir,” he would say clearly, his tone steady. It would be obvious he was taking this seriously to those around him, though an experienced eye would be able to see that he too was fresh with no military background. ”I grew up on the lower levels of Taris, fought my way out during the Sith invasion,” As he said the words, the memories of the burning buildings, dying neighbors and the Mandalorian woman who had saved his life snapped back to the forefront of his mind. It was for them that he was here, as well as to save other innocents from a fate like theirs. ”The sooner we can get out there and start hitting back against those bantha humpers, the better,” Tandon quickly silenced himself, unsure as to whether or not such a statement would land him in hot water. He was committed to this path but it was clear he still has a lot to learn.

"Alright I am going to stop you recruits right there. I wanna say this before we continue.. Address me as Corporal. Not sir or mister. 'Sir' is reserved for the officers within the Army. I am just Corporal. Lowest ranking Non Commissioned Officer within the Army. Though do keep in mind, that I am in charge of you until Sergeant arrives.. Address him as Sergeant.."

These recruits were fresh out of training. They had the nervous itch, and weird looks. Except that one over there, the Tandon fella. He was going to be the gung-ho soldier. It was pretty easy to tell. Though, maybe using that as a teaching moment later would be useful. Espaa was definitely the nervous wreck of the crew. She would have to be broken in. Can't have a teammate that's afraid of simple conversation, much less actual combat. Both are seemingly eager, that was the plus side to everything.

"You there, Fell. I'll cut this short for you to understand. We still need this group trained before we can get you out there and into combat. As far as I have heard, the Sith is not our primary focus at the moment. Our squad is a specialized unit, made for liberation, not necessarily going guns a blazin. Just stick to the training and all of you will be fine. Now moving on in the introduction.. You there, Recruit, state your name, where you come from and a small snippet about you."

Fields pointed to the recruit seated next to Fell. They were pretty silent so far, it was time to see them open up.

Karina Safin, Corporal,” she answered the man, chin slightly raised and arms rigid by her side. It wasn’t her first time being lined up like cattle for inspection. “I was raised on the streets of Nar Shaddaa. When the pandemic hit, I was one of the first refugees to leave for the Independent Systems. So, if being here means I get to help stop AMS from destroying more lives, I’ll serve the Consortium in whatever way I can.

It was a fabricated story. A lie sprinkled with the truth, brewed and stirred into an appetizing concoction of pure, utter bullshit. Karina had trained for this. Before enlistment, she’d rehearsed the story of her supposed life a thousand times, down to even the smallest detail—the name of her foster parents, the club she’d frequented, the raggedy apartment she had lived in before it was overrun by infected civilians, killing her family in the process.

All off the record, of course. Karina knew what she was doing.

She did her best not to stare at the array of blasters on the nearby table, though. While she could name and disassemble almost every single one, instead the look in her eyes were that of a seemingly curious, inexperienced recruit. Kind of like the freshly dressed engineer up the line. Espa? Espresso? Whatever, it made no difference to Karina. She was just glad she was not the only girl in the room. The whole base already reeked of testosterone.

And fish.

Standing out like a sore thumb, a big shark man looked at the corporal that was going to train them, mouth slightly open and looking likehis gaze was trailling off somewhere else, the Karkarodon was trying his best to understand what was being said, the others using strange complicated words that confused him...But he got the gist of it...Corporal was some sort of nickname the guy wanted the big shark man to use for him, just like the nickname he had back on Nal Hutta, he missed when he was called meatshield, he liked being reminded about meat.

"Bobby Stargazer, corporal!" Bobby exclaimed with energy as it was his turn, a toothy dumb smile forming on his face as he looked forward, his posture rigid because he was copying the other recruits, but it was obvious Bobby was very relaxed in comparison "Bobby was born in Nal Hutta, parents were *Gamorrean noises* and *More Gamorrean noises*, Bobby shot and bit stuff and was praised for it, then he did it some more...Then he was put in prison because Bobby did wrong things" Bobby scratched the side of is face absentmindedly as his thoughts wandered off for a moment "...But Bobby is free now! Bobby will shoot bad people and help good people like he promised warden!"

By this point every other member of the squadron had answered the Corporal, which meant it was now Darius’ turn to introduce himself. “Darius Belari, Corporal.” He stood as rigid as the rest of his colleagues, resembling a blonde statue amongst the lineup. “I was raised in the slums of Lok, out in the Outer Rim. Enlisting was a good opportunity to get off world, maybe even do some good in the process.”

The corporal had told them to keep introductions short, and Darius’ backstory wasn’t a particularly interesting one anyway. It was better opportunity, more than patriotic drive, that brought Darius to enlist with the ISC military – seeing it as the best way to make it off his homeworld and make a better life than the one he’d always known.

While the man maintained a rigidly professional posture, his eyes subtly drifted left and right regard his fellow recruits. His eyes first fell upon Brea, before briefly moving to regard Karin and Tandon. He noted the similarly impoverished upbringings the three of them shared, feeling some sense of comradery in that respect.

Then came Bobby. Darius couldn’t help but stare at the Karkarodon a bit longer than was necessary, noting the toothy smile plastered across the shark-man’s face. Hailing from a desert planet, it was most definitely first time he had seen a Karkarodon up close, and despite the undeniably intimidating appearance, Bobby came off as the friendliest one among the bunch. Darius hadn’t quite decided if that comforted or disturbed him. Both?

After taking in the sight of his colleagues, Darius allowed his eyes to eventually settle upon the BM-792 Zok 10 Rifle, a subtle glint behind the deep blue pools. Where Karina made a conscious effort not to look at the displayed weapons, Darius couldn’t help but to stare with some unmistakable glee.

As the rest of the group introduced themselves, Fields would look at each one and notice what they would look at. The inflection of their voices, even the direct or indirect eye contact. All different signs that would tell him what they were eager to do versus what they were afraid of. Some were more eager to touch the weapons clearly, the others just want combat or as far as the Karkarodon went.. just some friends. Redemption even. It was nice to see that they signed up to fight for the ISC at all. There was respect to them for that, but they needed to be taught just a couple things before they were sent out to kill or be killed.

"Alright recruits. I am as I said, Corporal Ryan Fields. I was raised on Naboo as a servant's son. Served in the Royal Security Force, and then enlisted after the ISC established an Army. My time in service as a Royal Security had given me my rank I currently have. As of right now you are all being deemed official Privates in the ISC Army under Specialist forces. Congratulations, give yourself a round of applause.."

Fields would ignore any applauding done by the new Privates as it was unnecessary. He instead walked around the table and leaned against next to the Scatterblaster. It was his weapon that he would carry into the field. The others were the primary weapons each one of the members of the team would be equipping. Scanning over the group he found something that they all had in common.. no it obviously wasn't that they were human.. the Karkarodon made that clear. It was instead something else. Something unique.

"I want you all to take a look around.. look among yourselves. What do each and every one of you have in common? I'll tell you. You were all a nobody before. Just another face in the galaxy. But now? You're ISC Army Specialists. You have a title now. You have a place in society now. I dare even say if you hadn't had it before.. you have a family now. Among the five of you.. you have brothers and sisters. The bond that you form now will never break away like those of past friends."

Fields took a moment to pause and looked at the group. One arm folded over his midsection grasping the inner elbow of the other arm, as the left would be bent up resting his hand on his chin as if in a thinking position.

"Who wants to hold their weapon?"
