Open First Missions

OOC: Open to all Jedi with padawans going on their first mission

Edaara woke up early, dressed in her robes from last night. She had been on missions before, but this mission was different- she was bringing Char, and other Jedi and their padawans were coming. She changed her robes and pulled back her dark indigo hair. She left her rooms in the temple and walked down the hall a short distance to Char's rooms.

She knocked gently on the door. "Are you ready, Char?" she asked.

[Charlie "Char" Ballard]

Charlie had her first mission with her master! Miss Edaara told her that she will just be "recon", whatever that means. Hopefully she can use her new training saber! "I'm ready to fight bad guys!" She said, swinging out her saber. It really only tazed people, but Charlie doesn't need to know that. "Are we gonna fight those red people? Well, they're not red. They just have a lot of red stuff!" Charlie remarked, practicing some fighting stances of the rug laid neatly on the stone floor.

Edaara was standing in her doorway, watching her with a kind look on her face. Charlie thought she acted kind of like her mom, being protective and all that. "Miss Edaara?" Charlie chimed up, rising from the squat-like stance she was in, "What are we even doing today? You only told me I was.." Charlie forgot the word for it. Shoot. "Raycons?"

Edaara smiled at Charlie. "Recon means to explore the area, scout it out. Does that sound fun?" Edaara was excited to take Charlie on her first mission, but she was also nervous to put the girl even close to danger. She told herself there would be other Jedi around to help out and she was more than capable of protecting the padawan. "And the red people are called Sith. They have red lightsabers, and they use the dark side of the Force to get what they want," Edaara said, giving a vague description of the Sith. One thing at a time.

Edaara paused in what she was doing when her datapad lit up with news. She read it and watched the feed, her mouth hanging. That was... Silex had done that? She shook her head, doubt creeping in. She didn't know the full story and couldn't judge Silex just yet. But the way the media painted it, Silex had committed a heinous, horrific crime.

She felt bad for her friend as she reached out to her, trying to get in touch, but to no avail. She shut off her datapad and turned back to Char with a distracted gaze. Silex was probably being tried for her crimes at the moment. Edaara shoved down her battling emotions. I need to focus, she told herself. She could not make the same mistake as Silex and lead her padawan down an uncertain path. Once again, she noticed just how sweet Char was, and how trusting the gaze was that she turned upon her. She vowed to always put her padawan's life in front of her own.

 

[Charlie "Char" Ballard]

Charlie looked into the horizon before her. They had arrived in a very wooded area, somewhere Charlie is very used to being, and are now unloading all of the supplies they brought with them. Along with Charlie and Edaara there were about five other pairs of young padawans and masters. "Miss Edaara?" Charlie asked, tugging on her robes, "Will you tell me what we're looking for? All I see are the woods like where I used to live." To be honest, Charlie had no idea what they were doing. She knew they were on a "mission" of sorts- to gather information- but she didn't really understand what they were getting.

"If you're looking to hunt," Charlie chimed, looking up at her master's face, "The animal will have already known we're here. You're not very good at hunting, Miss Edaara." Charlie smiled, a look of superiority forming on her face. She meant no harm, obviously, but was excited that she was better than her master at such a simple thing as hunting. You see, being raised on hunting makes it really, really easy to hunt. Charlie doesn't know she has an advantage, though, so she gets to have her little moment without a care.

"Let's get to work, huh? First mission time!!"
