First plot - Review, suggestions?

Hey y’all I was wondering if I could get some help building my first plot and getting some questions about the whole system answered. Tagging @Insalius and @Valen Pelora for their expertise with the plot system.

My overarching goal for character Drom Rekkin is for him to start and run a large weapons manufacturing company. I understand this would take alot of IC work and would be impossible to achieve in one plot. Plus who knows if he would survive that long.

I have a plot idea that would at least be the first step in that direction, and would love any input to make it as fleshed out as possible.

Plot goal: Rekkin Repairs expands its storefront and inventory.

Note: Now initially I wanted not only the store to become bigger, but the store to start become a household name on Shadaa. But I guess its renown would only increase with my character’s renown level right? Or can I have the store become well known without having Drom’s credit level increase? Just having trouble quantifying a location’s renown level.

What will happen/threads:

Thread 1: Intimidation/robbery - Drom hires two or three goons to scare off his competition.

Note: For his competition, I was thinking another little larger gun store that is run by a random local gang. I have write up lore, and NPCs for them and their location. My question is when the people Drom hires (other PCs) write in the thread about what they are doing would I need to write for the opposing NPC’s or will a mod/staff member need to?

Thread 2: Warehouse Acquisition/Pest extermination - With the money from thread 1, Drom buys the junkyard next to his workshop. The owner sells but warns that the warehouse needs to be cleared out. PC’s are hired to clear out the warehouse of the dangerous pests

Note: I assume that the pests will need a write up which I am happy to do. However once again would i need to have a mod/staff member play as the pests or can I write for the opposition

Thread 3: Grand Opening - Due to recent success of new warehouse, remnants of the local gang from thread 1 decide to scare off Drom’s customers and attack during Rekkin Repair’s Ware house grand opening.

So does this seem doable? Anything too far fetched? Do you guys think the thread ideas justify the plot goal?

However, as a general rule we don’t review plot submissions or provide input on a plot submission until it is submitted. Otherwise, we’d be the ones making all the plots instead of the members.

In a personal plot is it necessary that all opposition to the PC and the PC's allies be played by a staff member or mod?


Do all the lore/npc write ups need to be done prior to plot submission? Can I write them up concurrently?

Also as Rekkin Repairs has not been approved yet in the Lore sub, will I need to wait for approval before I can submit the plot?

I'm not a plot mod like Valen is, but to answer this question, not always, but this goes on a case-by-case process. It varies plot-to-plot and depends on what you all you are trying to accomplish.

And while I can't speak for Valen on if you really need to have write ups approved or not, you can submit your plot for approval at any time. And if there is anything further that the Plot Team will need from you, like lore write ups, NPCs .etc They will let you know in the submission thread, as well as give other feedback.

So, the sooner you submit your plot, the better :)

Gotcha, in that case I guess we can just archive this and I'll go ahead with the plot submission.
