[LOG=20 DAY(S) BEFORE EVENT]

A faint smile crept along Aldric's face as his eyes opened to a new day on Alpheridies. If he hadn't had his alarm buzzing away by his head, however, he likely would have never realized it. The entire planet was bathed in a light that was not conducive to sight, by a star that was very different from what someone might be use to on other planets. While the Miraluka had adapted to this long ago, viewing their world through their connection to the force, the young blond man in question had to rely on lights just like any outsider. In fact, in these early morning hours, his apartment sat as a lone candle flickering at the end of his street, as if fighting to remain un-smothered by the surrounding darkness.

Aldric swung up into a sitting position in one fluid motion. He sat there, for a small while, with his shoulders hunched forward as his eyes adjusted to the darkness around him. His hair was messy, but in an un-normal way that prompted the young man to bring a hand up toward his face, so that he could run his fingers through his hair exactly three times. A small yawn left his mouth soon after, and the young man stood suddenly from his bed to face the day.

The streets had been lit by a series of artificial lamps, meant to make it easier for guests and tourists to travel the cities, and Aldric stuck closely to them. Despite the fact that he had lived on the planet his entire life, he still found himself bumping into people more than he cared to admit. While at times he was the one simply not paying attention, it was as if those walking around him were only aware of his presence in a second hand nature. Some walked around him as if he wasn't there at all. He had dealt with that kind of behavior his entire life, so when people did smack into him on the sidewalk he would simply mutter an apology and continue walking, keeping his eyes screwed to the walkway underneath him as he went along. Three hundred cracks had been counted by the time he had made it to a local cafe, a place he had always been meaning to go to.

"Hey, Miraxa. You work here?" The smile on the young man's face reignited as he noticed a familiar girl behind the counter, paying little attention to anything but the small device in her hand. Yet, when she heard Aldric, a grin spread across her face as well. She had intensely purple hair, and the brown cloth that snuggly covered her eyes reminded him of the one that he had hanging around his neck. She had gone to school with him, and stood out in his memory as one of the few people that genuinely cared for him during his time here, and he hadn't seen her in years. "Did you just move back?" The question rolled off of his tongue as if he had said it a thousand times before, and he waited patiently for an answer as he reached into his jacket pocket, pulling a pack of cigs from a small pocket within.

"Ya. Just moved back. You getting the usual.." Aldric raised a brow as the woman seemed to physically cringe over her words. That wasn't as odd as the question itself however. As it was the first time Aldric had walked in, he realized that she must have had him confused with someone else. The smile on his face drooped for a moment as he gazed past her, over her shoulder, as if he half expected to see someone peeking out from behind her. His lips curled upward once more, only a moment later, as the words the young man had been missing finally found their way past his lips.

"Oh, yeah sure. That sounds good." Being polite was something that had come second nature for him during his early years, strict teachers had drilled it into him when he was nothing more than a small boy.

"Right... let me show you to your booth." The tension in the air, the un-easey movement of the woman, was completely lost on Aldric as he continued toward his booth. The waitress had grasped him by his arm, in a way that Aldric could only conceive of as friendly. She held him close to her, as they walked, and he felt the faint sensation of something slip into his pocket. However, any question as to what that was left his mind as he sat, the booth itself was three down from the door, and he sat at the far end of the seat furthest of said door. Aldric picked up his menu and stared at it for exactly 30 seconds, before deciding what he would have to eat.

"I think I know what I want." He proclaimed, with the same smile on his face, turning his head toward the waitress as he prepared to relate his order.

[LOG=7 DAY(S) BEFORE EVENT]

A faint smile crept along Aldric's face as his eyes opened to a new day on Alpheridies. If he hadn't had his alarm buzzing away by his head, however, he likely would have never realized it. The entire planet was bathed in a light that was not conducive to sight. Despite the fact that he was the only one in his neighborhood who could physically "see" their star, he likely had the poorest sight of any of them.

A single strand of hair hung in front of one of his eyes, and a hand rose up to bat it away, waving at the strand three times before he finally managed to tuck it back into the fold. A small yawn left his mouth soon after, and the young man stood suddenly from his bed to face the day.

The streets had been lit by a series of artificial lamps, meant to make it easier for guests and tourists to travel the cities, and Aldric stuck closely to them. Bugs flitted about the light in a captivating way, their wings and shells shining as they hovered around them. "Oh sorry!" Recited Aldric, as a passerby walked squarely into his chest, their face smacking so hard into it that it made him reflexively cough. The man fell back onto the walkway, his limbs sprawled out in such a way that he looked like some sort of panicking crab. The young man, who had not moved an inch during the collision, quickly knelt down to offer a hand to the man. "Let me help you up."

The man shouted something in their native tongue about droids, rather incoherently, before standing up himself and moving along in the general bustle. Aldric, not wanting to pursue the odd, yet clearly distressed man, decided to continue on his way down the sidewalk. Three hundred cracks had been counted by the time he had made it to a local cafe, a place he had always been meaning to go to. There were bugs there too, buzzing about the neon glow of the cafe's main sign.

"Hey, Miraxa. You work here?" The smile on the young man's face reignited as he entered the store, a soft bell-sound chiming as the door slowly slid close behind him. The girl behind the counter had already been smiling and laughing with a customer behind the counter, but the smile grew even larger when she recognized him. Her red hair stood out prominently in his memory, made sharper still by the green cloth she wore to cover her eyes, and the gold star shapes dangling from her earlobes. The lose fit matched her lose personality.

"It's been a while. Hasn't it, Aldric?" Her voice hadn't changed much from when he had last saw her, and her familiar walk took her from behind the counter. She nodded toward the booths, and Aldric knew that he could chose any. So he chose one that stood out to him, three down from the door, and sat at the far end of the seat furthest of said door. Aldric picked up his menu and stared at it for exactly 30 seconds, before deciding what he would have to eat.

"I think I know what I want." He proclaimed, with the same smile on his face, turning his head toward the waitress as he prepared to relate his order.

The glare of the streetlights outside flashed off of the electronic menu as he handed it to the waitress, the light itself almost completely blinding him for a moment.

~Remember.

Aldric blinked as he stared up at the harsh light hanging over his head, he had been sprawled out on the metal table for some hours now. Music played softly from some corner of the room, but no matter which direction Aldric 's eyes glanced, he simply could not spot the source. Figures moved above him, dragging instruments along his body in a way that might have felt painful, but Dr. Bhal had reassured him that there would be little pain during such a procedure. One's movements erred from their predicted course, and Aldric's brown eyes snapped to attention. A single nurse had moved her hand to adjust the hair that had fallen out of her surgical cap. It was shockingly red, against the green smocks.

Aldric..... Aldric.....~

"Aldric?" The woman's alibaster hand swung in front of the young man's face for a few more moments, and eventually he jumped in his seat.

"When will the procedure be over?" Asked Aldric, his gray eyes flicking from a position that suggested he was looking past the woman, to a position that suggested he was looking directly at her.

"Step into Analysis. What prompted that response?" Aldric's sense of self felt as though it were slipping away, and before he knew it, the young man had entered a deep and dreamless sleep.

[LOG=0 DAY(S) BEFORE EVENT]

A faint smile crept along Aldric's face as his eyes opened to a new day on Alpheridies. If he hadn't had his alarm buzzing away by his head, however, he likely would have never realized it. The entire place was bathed in a light that humanoids simply couldn't see.

A lose strand of hair hung before his eyes, yet as Aldric reached up to deal with the issue, a small white shape in the corner of his gaze caught his attention. A single white note poked out of the pocket of a pair of pants he had left on the floor, which had oddly remained there for some time. Unfolding it only revealed a series of hastily written words, in a script that didn't look too far off from his own. "Find me." The words fell from Aldric's mouth easily enough, but it was as if they had the power to make his teeth buzz.

The streets had been lit by a series of artificial lamps, meant to make it easier for guests and tourists to travel the cities, and Aldric stuck closely to them. The small note had had found in his bedroom had not left his side, and even now he found himself playing with it as he made his way down the walkway. "Find me." He muttered the phrase once more, rolling the paper through his fingers as he side-stepped the throngs of people moving along the path. The words were simple, and yet they were extremely captivating. They called out to him, almost like a song playing from some corner of a room, with the source hidden beyond plain sight. Three hundred cracks had been counted by the time he had made it to a local cafe, a place he had always been meaning to go to.

Despite that fact, however, Aldric continued to walk. He hardly noticed the dull neon glow of the sign behind him as he turned a corner. Above him, hung the dully lit hulls of several ships entering the city. They were beautiful. Something so sleek, and yet so indescribably powerful compared to transports that buzzed along the streets below him. Space ports were vital in capital cities, and there was almost always a man willing to take someone off-planet for a few credits, especially if they knew how to repair things.

~Aldric looked up from the note in his hands, staring at Dr. Vicord Bhal, who sat at the table across from him. "Hello. Aldric. Do you know who I am?"

"No. Am I in a dream?" Aldric's body remained perfectly still, and his lips barely moved, the only thing about him that seemed to have any focus were his eyes, spotlighting the tired man before him.

"You do. You just need to try harder. I just need you to answer a few questions..."~

Aldric blinked, and the spaceport he had set out toward was much closer than it had been moments before. That didn't bother him, though, as he made his way down the metal walk. The closer he got to the port itself, the thicker the crowds around him became. It was almost... suffocating... to be mixed in such a crush of people. It only made him want to board a ship more. He had no idea where it would take him, but it would take him far away from Alpheridies. This urge was the wanderlust that had drove his parents to the stars, and it would drive him now too.
