Location: Takodana

___There was often a sense of quiet and tranquillity in the temple on Takodana. The peaceful atmosphere was calming and revitalizing, providing a place of solace and reflection. This serenity was also reflected in the gentle sway of the temple's towering trees, providing a restful and calming ambience. It was the ideal place to instruct someone in the ways of the Force, and that was why Rena had chosen it for her meeting with another young Padawan.

___With a sigh, Rena lowered herself onto the stone bench, propping her crutch against it before laying her hands on her lap. Leaning against the backboard, the woman closed her eyes and rested her head against it. Her breathing steadied as she focused on the innate power and feeling of the Force surrounding her, permeating everything and everyone at the temple. Amid Rena's meditation, a familiar presence hopped and flitted among the trees before diving toward her. With a gentle flutter of wings, a small bird landed on her knee and chirped up at her, demanding her attention.

___"Not today, Arcturus," Rena said, her eyes opening and her head lifting to look down at the small avian. A thin smile creased her lips. "I didn't bring you anything today." The bird twittered indignantly. "I know, it's positively awful. I'll bring you extra next time, okay?" she finished, lifting her hand to stroke the creature's head with a thin finger.

Rhyss disliked forest planets.

It wasn't as if something had happened specifically to sour him towards such environments. After all, gardens and small pockets of nature tended to be some of the best places to meditate and spar. However, he had simply spent most of his life on places like Dorin or Nar Shaddaa. Places where the clammer of sentient minds formed a constant undercurrent in the Force: an underlying beat that Rhyss had grown accustomed to long before he had come into his natural gifts. To have all of that be reduced to silence was...uncomfortable to say the least.

Nevertheless, Rhyss made his way out to one of the Temple's outer gardens, following the calm pulse of a stronger Force signature. Despite his misgivings, he had no intention of spitting on Master Ivens' kindness in offering him remedial Force instruction. The Kel Dor's abilities with the Force were passable for a Padawan of his age, but nothing extraordinary. If he wanted to make the difficult leap to Knighthood and honor the memory of Master Anluss, he needed to learn how to harness the Light Side properly. Hopefully this meeting would put him on the right track to do that.

A full ten minutes before their agreed-upon time, Rhyss showed up at the bench. He bowed to Rena, "Master Ivens, I appreciate your willingness to train me in your free time." Rhyss rumbled through his mask, "Should we get started? Or should I wait for when we were supposed to start? I seem to have left a little earlier than I should have."
