I've been brewing on this concept of a faction of force sensitives that is a mixture of coexisting light side and dark side users. There's the obvious tension between the Jedi and the Exiles, who have their separate cultures which clash, but the idea of this faction is that the force adepts who sign up are in an academy of sorts where they grow up and learn together, despite one choosing the powers of dark over light, and vice versa. This could obviously just be impossible altogether, but in toying with the idea, there's a synergetic culture that emerges from it where dark side users utilize their gifts and powers to benefit their faction in one way - and expressing ideals that not only support their dark side alignment, but also support the faction as well - and the same thing for light side users as well.
And, as can be gathered, I'm not trying to fashion a faction of grey Jedi; members would either be light side affiliated, or dark side affiliated.
Also, with this, I was toying with the idea that kyber crystals for their lightsabers would interact with them a bit differently (if we're utilizing canon lore here), where the colors would have slightly different meanings - perhaps even in rare cases produce a naturally occurring red blade that wasn't induced by making the crystal "bleed."
I dunno. These are all very fresh thoughts, but I've been thinking on it for a bit now.
Thoughts?
