DESCRIPTION​

A Force barrier is a neutral, defensive Force power that makes use of Force energy to block potential harmful elements. Force barriers can manifest as either entirely invisible barriers or a shimmering blue sphere of energy around the target. It can either be projected around oneself or a nearby target in one's line of sight. Force barriers are used to block out and protect a Force user from physically harmful elements. They are able to defend against blaster bolts, flames, and other forms of external attacks.

However, this defense is far from perfect. For instance, Force barriers do not completely insulate the user from extreme heat or cold, and their clothes can still catch fire if they are exposed to extreme sources of heat (i.e., lava). The technique is also taxing to maintain, a flaw that becomes more dramatic the larger the barrier is made and the longer it is maintained. For this reason, most Force users will reserve the barrier for only singular bursts or overwhelming attacks. Finally, the barrier greatly reduces an individual's ability to move. At lower ranks, individuals may be rooted in place and even for those more powerful in the Force, they are severely slowed in their movements.
