DESCRIPTION​

Force illness, better known as Malacia, was invented by members of the Jedi Order. Despite the name of the ability, this technique did no physical harm to the target, and was instead intended to distract and incapacitate an enemy.

In practice, the technique uses the Force to throw off an organic target's equilibrium, turning it against them and inducing waves of heavy nausea and dizziness. When undefended against, the ability can be completely debilitating within only a few seconds by inducing vomiting and throwing individuals into such intense dizziness that standing was difficult if not impossible. Lapses in the users concentration or resistance with body-fortifying techniques could dampen or counteract the effects, however.

A similarly powerful Force-sensitive individual could of course use the Force to shield themselves, thereby lessening the effects, though this kept their focus on preventing the opposing technique from taking effect, thereby distracting them from anything else the caster might throw at them.
