Force Powers, Ranks and Alignment

Basically I have a few short questions before I begin work on my character. The first is the force powers. Given that my character is force sensitive, what are the limitations or rules regarding force powers? This question pretty much transitions to the next which I know directly correlates to the rank of the character. Where would I find a list of the available ranks within each faction that I may acquire? For instance if I was to choose Sith what would rank would be available for me to use in the profile? Do all characters start out at a lower rank or is this subjective by member?

Everyone generally starts off by making an accolyte character with a two or three basic powers. Once you gain a few ranks with him you can start making characters of a higher rank with a few more powers when they start off.

My advice is that if it seems reasonable and sensible and not OP for a starting character, then go for it

My personal approach is to start off carte blanche. Force Sensitive a character may be, but without training, any powers they manifest are likely to be undisciplined and not going to work whenever they want. So any abilities your character displays are then a result of any classes you take or lessons you're given by your Master.

Well, you can discover or learn Force Powers on your own, if it takes place in situations where it makes sense for your character to learn it. And sometimes it might be fun to have a character learn something else as an accident, if it's a power related to the power you are going to learn. Like trying to summon a blinding light (Force Blind), and instead of summoning a light, you set your hand on fire or something. Show that your character does possess flaws, and that not everyone learns things at the same rate, or think in the same way, etc.

Sorry for the double post but I have a similar question that I failed to bring up entirely.

Is there a section of SWRP that would allow for Fanon creations like new ships, weapons and planets? I have a few tech pieces for some new firearms and a vehicle or two...

Put them in your character profile then just PM a mod. GreenRanger or SerGregror are generally your best bets as they are both pretty active and are quite good chaps.

Fanon planets species and tech need staff approval, prepare a write up and PM it to an admin.

basically since it's fanon they need to know everything about it so it can be referenced in detail so your write up should be pretty comprehensive.

If approved where would these fanon pieces be posted?

You just do a normal character sheet and the admins keep it for reference should there ever be a dispute or inconsistency.

I cannot think of anything more to add onto what has been said.

Hmmmm....so I can PM a staff member a fanon piece and it is approved through them? Got it. But, on the boards where all the normal members are where would it be posted?

For instance, if Icaro posted a fanon weapon and had it approved wouldnt he need it actually posted on the forums instead of just simply floating around through PM's? Wouldnt there be a place you could find fanon things that one could reference?

Depending on what is sent, certain things may take a while to gain approval. I sent a writeup six months ago and still haven't heard back from them. Planets tend to take longer to approve (as Jiang has informed me).
