Fortress Building on Ruusan

  • What is going to happen in your plot?

    The establishment of an imperial fortress on Ruusan, the purpose of which being defence in the likely event that the Mandalorians look to cut the Old Empire off from the Imperial Republica. Ruusan remains independent, for now, and therefore could be a vital corridor between the two halves of the Empire in the event of unification allowing trade of manpower, resources and goods between them.


    My character, Harren Skaalvarg, would be pushing for the outright subjugation of the world, but since he's just an acolyte that idea wouldn't get far. The next best thing is a permanent base of operations, which seems the sort of thing a rising acolyte might be given to accomplish as a test of their ability to lead, as opposed to just smashing heads.


    It clearly benefits the old empire, as in the likely event that the IR joins the OE in the near future there will need to be links between the two. Ruusan is the largest remaining independent system, and therefore is of massive tactical value to the Empire.


    Also, given that this is a fortress - not only will it make Ruusan more defensible in the face of Mandalorian and Rebel aggression, it will provide a useful staging ground for the eventual subjugation of the world and the official absorption of the territory under Imperial control.
  • What other players will be a part of this?


    It's an old empire/unified sith mission pack, so sign ups. Its intended for entry level imperials.
  • Where are all the places (if more than one) that your plot will be taking place?


    The fortress site in rural Ruusan, nestled in a mountain range on the North of the planet and shrouded by deep forest that will need to be cleared.

  • Please provide a basic in-character timeline of what you expect to happen.
    • Small Imperial force arrives in Ruusan system, sends probe droids to find perfect site for base. A spot in the mountains, near a massive underground cavern system perfect for reinforcing against orbital strikes.
    • Scouts make planetfall, survey land and oversee dropping of basic supplies. During this process they discover the mouth to the cavern system. There are troglodytes and criminals hiding out inside. THREAD ONE OPVP
    • At the same time a diplomatic mission is sent to the government, making them aware that accepting the Imperial installation really is in their best interests, and to resist would be most unwise. THREAD TWO SELF DM
    • Prefabricated fortress is dropped from orbit and put together. Essential staff make planetfall.
    • After basic fortress is established, base is developed and added to over a considerable period of time. The eventual result is an extensive fortification set into the mountainside that will endure orbital blockade and siege, as well as being resilient against ground assault.
  • What do you or your character hope to achieve with this plot? What is the "end-game"?
    • To establish a fortress on Ruusan capable of withstanding an extensive assault from both land and orbit. The plot itself will only cover the construction of a basic fortress, not the further development that occurs over a period of months afterwards. I'm hoping that work could be considered to be happening behind. The scenes after the base is established?
    • To maintain permanent, vital, defensible corridor between the IR and OE.
    • To provide the old empire with a mission pack that revolves around pve play, while still helping with the overarching goals (and survival) of the faction.
    • To provide a plot hook for the eventual subjugation of Ruusan, bringing the world fully under the Imperial yoke.
  • Do you need any involvement of canon NPCs or faction leaders to be DMed by a staff member? If so, please detail who/what and for what purpose.


    Nope, the scouting thread is PVP and the meeting with the democratically elected government is Self DM.

    • Surrounding area is cleared - trees felled etc. The Aliens of the forst will not take kindly to this, and would attack. THREAD THREE

    Probably not, the governors of Ruusan can more than likely be RPed by dice. I've got three threads there as a suggestion, given that the previous incarnation of this plot had two but I've added talks with the governor of Ruusan, but it can be dropped back to two if preferred. Also, I was thinking self DMing for this, maybe some dice for the animal attack? Given that I'm hoping it'll be PvE like the Dathomir one was trying (and failing!) to be.

Dathomir plot a bust because mandos actively plotting for it means it'd need an open PVP element

Ruuusan a new Friend --- The Galactic Alliance is plotting for Ruusan too so same situation man - get me some pvp in here

Also three threads for one planet is too much - so two threads, at least one of them being open PVP

Sometimes all you can do is laugh.

Other times, you can decide enough's enough and pvp is just written in the stars...

I've made the edits, is there anything else that needs changing? Also, do you need to approve a mission sign up write up or is that more @Narsi 's schtick? @Nefieslab
