Foundry on Eos (Ask)

[Eversor]

*The sky was begining to darken above the BTC dockyards, and Anton stood expectantly awaiting the arrival of Krypten. The success of BTC's recent trade negotiations had secured vital funds and resources with which Anton hoped to invest in Expansion projects. One such project was buying into the Droid foundry of Eos.
A troop of Mk1's marched past the observation tower, they were well made droids but Anton wanted better. He had such plans, however they would be worth nothing unless he gained a foothold in the manufacturing industry.....*

 

[limdul]

Krypten walked from the BTC's main office over to the shipyard where Anton Byrax was awaiting his arrival. They were planning a trip to Eos to expand their production capabilities.

"Lord Byrax. I am ready to leave when you are."

 

[Eversor]

"We are set then, good, good."

*Walking along the platform Anton watched a droid crew unloading cargo containers from a recently arrived freighter, it was mundane to say the least but he couldnt argue with the profits.*

"So, you are looking forward to the task of droid combat programming? i expect your knowledge of combat will be ample for the task...."

 

[limdul]

"Yes, Lord Byrax. The Subjugator is prepped for launch."

Krypten walked alongside Lord Byrax as they watched the droid crews going about their tasks. They were certainly more efficient than humans.

"I don't forsee any difficulties with the programming. I was able to extract the coding from the first shipment of droids we recieved, so altering the programming to better suit our needs will be simple. If these upgraded models are as good as they say, I think you will be quite pleased."

 

[Eversor]

*Boarding the Subjugator Anton sat down in his usual place after telling the droids to prepare for launch, he was keen to be moving.*

"I dont particularly trust these folk on Eos, their work is of decent standard but i believe they are holding back. It's Good busniess to supply sub standard units, that way they make more on spare parts and new units. However they will not dupe me."

*The engines sounded, the vibration growing stedily as the light cruiser lifted off.*

 

[limdul]

"I noticed that too when I was examining the programming. I have to imagine that your average dock foreman could care less about quality as long as the droids get the job done, but in the long run, that hardly suits our needs."

Krypten reclined in his seat as the Subjugator climbed into orbit over Naboo and began to prep for the jump to hyperspace.

"How do you propose we handle this meeting?"

 

[Eversor]

"We should handle things with care, i dont think it would do to have our future partners on the wrong side of us at such an early stage."

*Thinking on the forthcoming meeting, Anton could see no potential problems so far. His intended proposals were generous and would be mutually benifical.*

 

[limdul]

Krypten nodded. Anton Byrax was far better at negotiating than he was. Krypten was good at looking menacing.

"Of course, sir. I have no doubt you will be able to take care of things efficiently."

 

[Eversor]

"Ah, dont look so down man. There will be plenty of time for violence in the future, That much i can promise you......Lets have a drink."

*Anton took the drink offered by his protocol Droid and thumbed through some papers.*

 

[limdul]

Krypten laughed as he took his drink off the droid's tray.

"I suppose you are right."

As Lord Byrax began prepping for his meeting, Krypten began running through the programming changes they would be implimenting with the new model droids.

 

[Eversor]

*The Subjugator breaks from hyperspace entering the Eos system, the sleek cruiser makes for the high orbit of Eos as Anton puts the finishing touches to his propsal. A droid escort files into the social compartment and stand too.*

"No, you wont be neede this time. Remain with the ship."

*Checking his atire to make sure he looks the part, Anton turns to krypten as the dockmaster confirms landing authorisation.*

"You dont have to stick around once the meeting begins, if it makes you happy you can go and tinker with some droids and the like. I wouldnt recommend the women on this planet they are less than desirable."

*Smiles*

 

[limdul]

"So I've heard." Krypten laughed as he stood to follow Anton out of the Subjugator to the droid factory on Eos' surface. "I will head down to the factory floor and work with the foreman on getting our droids outfitted correctly then."

 

[Eversor]

*Nodding to Krypten, Anton turns and walks along the docking platform to be greeted by the dock master. Being led in through what passed for a reception area they take the elevator up to the top floor.
Moving through the wide corridor, the heavy door into the meeting room hisses open.*

"Welcome Lord Byrax, it is once more a pleasure to meet you."

"Why thank you Arkus, it is good to return here and be in your company. I trust you are well...."

 

[limdul]

As Lord Byrax and dock master leave to go to the main office, Krypten is lead to a small side elevator which will take him down to the foundry floors. After a short ride, he is met by the head technician, a human named Dathomar, who greeted his guest warmly.

"Ah, Krypten! A pleasure to see you again! How are those droids working out for you?"

"Quite admiralbly, my friend. Just as you promised they would!" Krypten shook the man's outstretched hand. "I have come to inspect the upgrades you told us about."

Dathomar nodded and led Krypten over towards the testing area...

 

[Eversor]

*For an hour or so the two made small talk laughter resounding in the meeting chamber, Anton turned the conversation subtly towards the business at hand.*

" Well then, you are aware of my intentions concerning the manufacturing industry, and seeing as you havent voiced any opposition to the move i can only see that as encouragement."

"That is true friend, i have to warn you though business has been slow and we make ends meat here only. I would consider taking up other employment but this is all i know."

*The two had been drinking strong wine profusly since Antons Arrival, and the young nobleman was trying to judge who was the more lucid.*

 

[Eversor]

"So you are happy for me to buy into partership of this facility?

"I cant see any problems with it, i have looked over your proposals and they seem to be more generous than i had thought they would be. I'm sure with your contacts and reputation that you will be able to drum up some business."

"Yes, i'm sure i will...."

 

[Eversor]

*Arkus Cyell sat lolling in his seat from drunkeness, Anton was not nearly as bad yet he could sense the hangover that was to come. Those who interupted were chased away with outragously loud bawling from Arkus, while Anton laughed heartily.*

"Blackguards! they're all Blackguards and scoundrels i tell you!"

"Never a truer word has been spoken my friend, It is a sorry world in which scum run amok. Unchecked and unpunished. That is why i want to create some security for myself and my company.....and teach them a lesson. *Anton spat* Bloody pirates and thieves...!"

"Then it shall be so! My Lord! i accept your proposals!"

*Taking the contract Arkus made a great effort to sign his name in a readable signature.*

 

[Eversor]

"This is a great moment, you will not regret this deal. In years to come when we have wealth beyond imagination you will remember this day."

*A loud babbling sound came from the direction of the now slumped form of Arkus, still clutching the empty bottle he had drank by himself. Reaching over the desk Anton keyed the comm.*

(((Guards, Guards, i think you had better come in here. It seems your superior needs some help.......)))

*Watching as two guards entered and dragged the sleeping form of Arkus to his quarters, Anton sat back in his chair. A large grin on his face.*

While Anton worked out the details of his business deal with Arkus Cyell, Krypten kept himself busy running the new model droids through their paces. The technicians on Eos had done a excellent job incorporating the changes Krypten and Lord Byrax had sent them. The battle droids possessed better sight and battlefield awareness and they were now armed with better weapons. Krypten was even given a brief demonstration of some newer models not yet on the market.

Some time later, Krypten met up with Lord Byrax outside of the main office.

"How did your meeting go?"

 

[Eversor]

"Easier than i thought, he is a fool and a drunkard. It will not be long before this place belongs to me. until then we should return to Naboo, things have already been set in motion and it would be best if we were not here for the time being."
