Some people are born great and others have greatness thrust upon them. Then there are those so blessed to have both. Karia Baldr was born under a fortunate star as the Hyllebær of the clan took her from her mother post birth and upon their initial inspection marked the baby with a single line. The line unbroken. Few babies of the Baldr clan were giving such a mark, but it was a mark that the babe had a showing of Freya, the legendary leader of the Deucalian people who led them from the destruction of their homeworld into the greater galaxy.
Karia had much to live up to in her years and she took to the challenge with considerable gusto. From an early age she became obsessed with astrology and star fighters. She caused quite a scandal as she took to running with Thralls as they knew the most about the inner workings of the ship and fighters. She grew out of this attachment as she began her combat training. Not a legendary warrior by any means she held her ground and when leading others she found her plans not only worked more than not they also were followed to the letter by those around her.
Mortia Baldr, an elder of the clan noted the bright young girl and took her into her charge. Teaching her the Law of the Claws she went down the list and ensured the growing Baldr had each Ideal of the legendary people burned into her being. Mortia would become known as one of the wisest Baldr's for from her instruction came the girl who became the youngest Fenrir in Deucalian history. 15 Seasons and 2 kills under her belt.
For five years Karia worked her way up the ranks. Fighting pitched battles in space, upon land, and in board parties she became a Banebryte, and at the age of 19 a Allmen an incredible feat. No doubt she would have continued to lead the Baldr raids for many years building a reputation as a charismatic leader with a good head on her shoulders. All the changed when the First Claw was killed.
As per tradition those who were marked as worthy came forward to be tested by the clan elders. Tests of the Law of the Claw's were implemented. Bravery was tested and fear found failures, honor was tested and the lecherous found their shadows banished alongside themselves, it all came to a head in a fierce dogfight an through it all Karisa Baldr at the age of 21 succeeded where all others failed.
Taking on the name of Freya to mark herself as one of the unbroken line of Freya's who have guarded the clan Baldr, the young Claw wades unfamiliar waters with a confident stride. While poor in diplomacy she gathers allies around her to face the greatest challenge of a leader. To find that individual strength no matter how great is nothing compared to the infinite needs of the people. With ambition at her front and tradition at her back, Freya finds her path. A path unbroken.
