Coruscant-TheWorks.jpg

Rattling through the air with barely within the legal speed range, the Czerka Shuttle made haste to one of the various warehouse zones on the industrial planet of the City Planet of Coruscant. Voren, sat as he was in one of the uncomfortable chairs on board the ship, didn't want to know how this meeting had been arranged, and deep inside he was terrified.

A frakking Sith Lord, he cursed under his breath as he looked around the shuttle to confirm the numbers of Security he had come with. Not that it would make any damn difference, he thought as he counted just over ten members* of the Czerka Security Department in with him, armed with blaster pistols, and mean looking hats. Terrifying, he mused to himself, his murmur dripping wit sarcasm. Loudly, the vessel shuddered as it touched down at their intended meeting place, and Voren stood, giving a nod to Ari-Ani, his Director of Security, as he walked towards the large ramp at the back of the vessel, reminding himself that he had called in a Bounty-Hunter, just in case Ari failed in her duties to protect him - should such duties be needed.

Voren himself had come lightly armed, his armor-weave underlay found beneath his fresh black suit, the coat he wore over it containing a Data-Pad. Clenched in his right hand, a Vibro-Cane, one of his favorites, whilst his boot contained a vibro-dagger that he had no desire in using. He walked out of the vessel, his detail in tow, and approached the completely empty warehouse in which the meeting was to be held.

The ten guards, in all their glorious uselessness, waited outside - Voren himself instructing them to wait outside. He took a deep breath ''A good day for Czerka Director, if we can strike a deal today, great things can lie ahead for us.'' he boldly declared, as he spied the Sith, offering a wave and indicating that his Security Director should do likewise.

Deep within the depths of one of the many warehouse districts of Coruscant, as the sun descended below the horizon of this particular part of the ecumenopolis, sat an empty warehouse. Within that warehouse, sitting upon a durasteel crate, was a woman clad in dark, hooded robes. She sat cross-legged on the crate, with the hood of her robes pulled up so that it covered her face. The features of her face were hidden within the depths of the robe, giving her a look of ominous mystery. In less trying times, when an entire galaxy wasn't terrified at the return of the Sith, such a look would be laughable. One would glance at this person, look at their attire and be just as likely to burst out laughing as they were to be afraid.

This was not one of those easy-going times, however. The Sith had returned, and everyone was afraid of them. Thus, a figure clad in dark robes, sitting cross legged on a crate in an empty warehouse, struck quite the menacing figure. But what was this figure doing here, in such a lowly place? The reason for that was simple. Secret, clandestine meetings always needed a large, empty building in which to take place. Such places were also great at setting a mood, especially when inhabited by a person that everyone in the entire galaxy was terrified of. A dark, ominous figure seated alone in an empty warehouse painted such a fitting image that Nisara couldn't stop herself from sitting right in the centre of the main warehousing area of the building.

She waited patiently for her contact to arrive. He would be here soon, she was sure. Fear, which she was certain he felt, was very good at inspiring punctuation in a person. She checked her datapad briefly to ensure herself of the time, then hid it away in one of the many inner pockets of her robes again. Such a thing being out would ruin the entire image she had strived to create.

A smile came to her mostly shadowed face when she heard the engines of a vehicle outside. She straightened herself up, holding herself in a regal manner despite sitting with crossed legs. She kept her eyes on the doorway they would enter through, hands resting on her knees. She had no visible weapons on her, but she had plenty tucked away. She didn't expected to need any of them, but she had a blaster pistol and four vibroknives tucked away amidst her custom robes. And if those failed her, she was still Echani. Her body was a weapon in and of itself.

When the door opened she watched those that came through it intently. Only two. One of them was undoubtedly the person that had come to see her. Voren Makr, CEO of the Czerka Corporation. The other that came through the door was just as distinctive as him, but for other reasons. There weren't many women that stood at such a huge height, and this made his companion just as familiar to her as he was. She had done her research, after all. She directed her smile at them, which was perhaps the only thing that could be made out of her features, hidden beneath her shadowed hood as they were. "Good evening, Voren Makr," she said in a voice that carried throughout the warehouse with ease. She didn't wave, nor did she hear what he said to his companion, but she nodded at the both of them as her voice echoed throughout the tall, empty building.

Relaxing in the back of the shuttle, Ari-Ani tapped a foot against the velvet carpet beneath the passengers, humming as she did. The entire shuttle was on edge, even the guards who did not even understand who they were meeting with were gripping their blasters hard enough to whiten their knuckles. As Voren cursed under his breathe, Ari-Ani sighed gently and continued humming, singing softly a word or two on occasion.

Though I'm weak, and beaten down, I'll slip away into the sound~"

Unbeknownst to the Czerka CEO, Ari-Ani was anything but calm.

She was ready to explode unto a murderous rage and slaughter everyone in the shuttle.

The very thought of meeting with a Sith tensed the woman to her core. Therefore, to keep her nerves down, she did not remove the soundbuds from her ears as she exited the shuttle. She did not wave as Voren motioned her to, in fact she did not even open her eyes. Calling on the Force, she utilized the minimum possible strength necessary to have sight of their surroundings. All the while willing herself to relax, she stuck her hands into the deep pockets of her crimson red trench coat.

Her hand brushed her saberstaff, and she almost withdrew it. 'No,' she told herself, 'I don't need you, piece of poodoo, hold yourself together. Kriffing moron, relax!' Her thoughts could not be heard, unless this woman inside the warehouse could utilize the force. Ari doubted this, and kept her eyes closed gently as if she was simply listening to the music in a bored manner.

So long as she kept her eyes closed, all would be good. Voren would have his meeting, and everyone would walk away with all their limbs. She could control herself, she could subdue her rage. Gently, she continued to sing, the glow of her cybernetic eyes shining through her closed lids, but not through her orange goggles.

"The ghost of you, is close to me. I'm inside out. You're underneath~"

"Don't let me be gone."

"Don't let me be gone."

After decades in the world of business, Voren Makr had faced down a number of intimidating people, however few could hold the place of being a Sith Lord. Of course, Voren had done dealings with such people before, however he had not done dealings with the Lord of the Sith. A large man, who towered over many, his physical stature was intimidating, imposing even, to many however Voren felt some semblance of doubt that such an attribute would be of any great use today. Putting his fears to one side, and placing his business acumen to the forefront his his mind, Voren prepared himself to make his pitch.

There was no doubt - according to the Czerka Analysts - that the Sith had a significant presence in their occupied space, a part of the Galaxy that boasted significant resources, most natural and organic, meaning that the company could benefit greatly from a mutual off-record alliance in this area, bringing in resources and customers across the region. However, being complicit with a forthcoming enemy of the Republic was a risk in itself, and one that needed to be managed in a very selective manner. The company itself could not be involved, under the Czerka name - however other arrangements could be made to ensure that a separate entity, or individual could service the needs of the Sith, thus placing a significant distance between the Company and the Order.

''Good Evening. I am thankful that you have taken this time to meet with me, even if it has to be under such clandestine arrangements, however you know how Politics works here - and we must take precautions.'' he began as he closed the distance between the two parties, coming to a respectful halt before offering a short bow ''It is my belief that we can aid one another, and I hope today to make an arrangement that would be of mutual benefit to us both. My organisation controls significant Media Assets which could be used to provide your Order with advanced information on Senate Dealings - and the shortfalls of some Senators - for your own gain.''

He waited a while, gauging the Sith Lords reaction, before once again speaking
''Of course, such an arrangement would require additional gains for the Company, namely that certain members of my organisation funnel resources, and establish infrastructure for war material construction, for a future conflict with the Republic. It would I hope be agreeable, if Czerka - or one of its employees or affiliates - was the 'contractor of preferential choice' for these deals.''

He opening pitch finished, he waited for the Siths reply.

The Echani's eyes flicked to the CEO's bodyguard as they approached. Was she... singing? Nisara watched her as the pair approached, head tilted in a way that could only be seen as curious. Her head quickly turned back to the CEO as he began talking. She afforded him most of her attention as he pitched his idea to her, but she kept his bodyguard in view at all times. She wasn't stupid. She knew who she was and she knew what opportunistic people might like to do with her, given the chance. This Voren Makr seemed like a shrewder man than that, more focused on making a profit and seeing his business excel, but that didn't mean he wouldn't do it. After all, she didn't truly know him. She'd read about him and the things he'd done, but she would never truly know what kind of person he was until she fought him, and if she had her way that would not happen.

A grin could be seen on her lips at his mention of the politics that took place in the Core, and it was clearly of an amused variety. It stayed for the remainder of his little speech, even as she nodded along at his words. When finally he fell silent, she breathed out slowly. That was her only action for the first twenty seconds. Then her hands were rising off her knees and up to her hood, which she quickly lowered, revealing the features that would soon be known throughout the entirety of the galaxy. Short, stark white hair, smooth, pale skin and silver eyes. "Yes," she said slowly, "your politics here are very... well, I'm sure you know, Voren." She spoke the name with a familiarity that was most definitely not earned. She spoke as if they were old friends and had been on a first name basis for years.

"As for our dealings... information on the Senators is useful, and I will accept that, but it is not enough. You are asking a lot of us, Voren, and you stand to gain much from an arrangement with us. What else can you offer us that would be of use? Give me an example of this oh so useful information." She fell silent and looked at the man with a steady, expectant gaze. He was playing a dangerous game, and she was well aware of it. If it became public that he had decided to deal with the Sith Brotherhood, it would likely hurt Czerka a lot. She was well aware of this. What Nisara was curious about was how far he was willing to go for this deal. How much would he give up to get a deal with the second largest governing body in the known galaxy? That was what Nisara really wanted to know.

As she stared at him expectantly, she made sure to keep his bodyguard in her peripheral vision. She knew that if it came down to a fight then that woman was clearly the more dangerous of the two, and her natural instincts refused to allow her to do anything but keep a close eye on her. It was unlikely anything untoward would occur, but the Echani within her wasn't buying it. She was the Lord of the Sith. She was arguably one of the most powerful sentients in the galaxy. Even if she was alone, she knew they would likely avoid any conflict simply by virtue of knowing very little about her. They knew that she was in control of the Sith Brotherhood, and perhaps that said enough for them all on its own. If not, though, she would not be caught unawares.

"I don't think you understand your kriffing situation."

Something had snapped in Ari-Ani, her eyes opened and her good foot forward, she verbally assaulted the Sith. Something in what the woman said had annoyed Ari more than she could stand, and her voice ran wild. Possessing a voice like a demon, she deeply bellowed her insults and curses. The Sith woman would be wise to not dismiss Ari's words as just those of an angry woman. Something murderous stirred within her, clawing, biting, screaming to be let out.

"Czerka makes more money in the outer rim alone than what it stands to make in both the Republic and Sith space combined. You sit here, high and mighty on a pedestal like every other pathetic, low life Acolyte, you're nothing more than scum on the bottom of my boot just waiting to wiped off. Czerka doesn't need you, you need us. You have no great navy, no great military, if the Republic was to amass an army then your territory would be annihilated in mere weeks. I've heard the rumors, the Jedi are already moping up your sad little excuse for 'Lords of the Sith.'

Lords of the Sith my ass, you all are nothing more than a band of mercenaries who learned how to use the Force. You want to become an Army, you want to b a force to be reckoned with, respected? Then you need to prove yourselves! I've killed more of your people than I can count, what makes you any different? What do you call yourself, acolyte? A Crusader, a Warrior, a Lord? You are not worthy of any of those titles, you're not worthy of anything!"

Without understanding what was even happening to her own body, her saber was already withdrawn and in her hand, igniting. While her entire body was tensed up, prepared for an attack or to defend, Ari-Ani did not strike forth, not yet. There was a wildness to her body language, it resembled a monster pacing back and forth within a cage. To her side, her handler stood not knowing how dangerous the monster was, nor knowing how risky it was to leave her cage door unlocked.

Indeed, the cage was open, for who was to stop her? Her handler was exceptionally weak compared to her, and Ari-Ani was known to have rages that knew no friend in a sea of foes. With one hand, she reached up and clawed her goggles off. Cybernetic eyes flicked from one side to the other at inhuman speeds, examining every corner of the room and of the enemy that stood before her. Nostrils flaring, the Sith woman standing before the Czerka Director had one chance, one singular sentence of a chance to relax the beast that pushed and growled at the cage.

If she failed her chance, she would be mauled.

Well, things are certainly heating up, considered the CEO as his Security Director demonstrated some rather unsettling qualities that he had not seen for a considerable length of time. Allowing his mind to briefly wander, the man thought back to the last time he had seen her like this. Shuddering, visibly, Voren remembered burning his jacket, boots, clothes, and then eventually most of the building in which the massacre had taken place. Sixteen people had been killed that day, one by Voren - as the man had apparently forgotten that it was Ari-Ani who was attacking them, not the Corporate big-whig.

A single shot he had fired, blasting out the back of the skull of the man who had swung at him. The resulting splatted had only been the first taint on his clothes that day, as after Ari-Ani was done, she stormed off - leaving the large man to clean up the mess, in a task that had taken several days. The cover up had cost millions, as the Hutts who controlled the planet had not liked some of their own being killed by 'Core World Poodoo'.

The millions had been deducted from Ari-Anis pay, something she had oddly willingly agreed to, and since then Voren had merely played at being annoyed with her, secretly valuing her violent tendencies - for in his business, they where very useful. His mind snapping back to the present, he cast a silent prayer to whatever would be listening that the Sith Lord would listen to Ari-Ani, as he would hate to need to get his latest suit cleaned again, it cost an absolute fortune to get blood out of a white blazer.

The Echani's eyes darted from Voren over to his security chief the very moment her eyes began to open and her foot stepped forward. She watched the woman with a mixture of curiosity and caution as she ranted and raved and screamed at the top of her lungs. When the lightsaber ignited, Nisara went dead still. She didn't watch it like some fearful, pathetically weak creature, however. No, she stared directly into the cybernetic eyes of the furious, unhinged woman. The Supreme Leader of the Sith Brotherhood had a deadpan look on her face as she sat there, dead still and unmoving. She didn't seem afraid. Quite the opposite, in fact. She was coiled like a spring, ready to burst into action at the slightest aggressive move.

As the woman stopped speaking and the echoing of her voice around the empty warehouse faded, Nisara remained silent. The only noise that could be heard was the breathing of the three in the building, the small amounts of noise that drifted in from outside, and the blaring of music in the unhinged woman's earbuds. Threats wouldn't work with this one. Overwhelming, arrogant displays of confidence wouldn't work with this one. Ridicule and laughter definitely wouldn't work with this one. No, the only thing likely to work here would be quiet, soothing words, like those delivered to an angry, raging beast to calm it and prevent it from running amok and having to be killed. And if that didn't work, then Nisara had no problems simply killing the woman and moving on about her business. Hopefully her death wouldn't mean the destruction of any potential deal or the need for the CEO's death, but she was prepared for the possible eventuality.

"I don't know if you can hear me," she said in a soothing voice, indicating with her hand the earbuds still blaring their music, "but I hope you can." She paused for a brief moment, giving the woman time to nod that she could, attack her or take her earbuds out. Provided the woman didn't attack her, she continued only a moment or two later, her voice full of soothing, soft motherly tones, which were often employed by mothers everywhere to calm their upset child. With creatures as primal as this one seemed, the words were often far less important than the tone of voice they were said in, and with that in mind Nisara was attempting to use those soothing tones to reach some deep-seated, innate part of the woman's brain and use it to bring her to calmness. "This is a business deal. In business deals, as I'm sure you know, there are negotiations and haggling and verbal duels. It is a battle in and of itself, as both sides strive for greater advantage. I have made my first move, and now it is time for Voren to make his. This is the way these battles go, and at the end we will have an arrangement that will benefit both parties." The entire time she spoke she stayed dead still, coiled and ready to spring to action at less than a moment's notice, should the crazed woman decide she was bored and wanted blood.

She wasn't actually sure if she was trying to calm the woman down or drive her to the point of no return. She would prefer the former, but the latter was something she felt she was prepared for. She would not concede a point and allow Voren to achieve extreme leverage simply through the use of a crazed brute, which she was sure was completely intentional. Against someone of lesser morale, such a move would be extremely effective and see his verbal opponent making all kinds of ridiculous concessions out of fear of his security chief. He had likely done it many times before, and if she survived this encounter would likely do it many more times in the future.

The song in her ears slowly drifted off as the Sith finished speaking, Ari-Ani couldn't hear her, but she could read lips. It was a skill she learned to teach someone dear to her, someone dead now. A cruel grin spread across her face, and she laughed. Long, loud and completely humorless, her laugh echoed through the warehouse. Taking a breathe, she gave her response, her deep voice easily reaching the Sith.

"How pathetically businesslike."

Track Switch, Song Four

Ari charged forth, blades raising and spinning in a defensive, flowing pattern. If Nisara had trained with Saber wielding Sith then she'd likely recognize it as a slow, standard Soresu drift. There was something strangely simple about it, compared to the great tension and focus in the charging woman. If Nisara changed positions, Ari would follow, if she attacked, Ari would be prepared, and if she didn't move at all then the taller woman would strike forth and bisect the woman at her midsection.

And so the dance had begun.

None of this was surprising. In fact, it was to be expected. Nisara had expected it since the woman had first opened her mouth, and so when the laugh came there was no look of shock or anger on her face. No, only disappointment. "Sometimes," she muttered as the woman laughed, "the only recourse is to put down the rabid beast." It was a shame, really. She tried to avoid personally fighting her foes, if she could. This was apparently not one of those times. Thus, it was time to kill this security chief, who so far had shown herself to be more beast than person.

She waited until the woman began charging before she did anything. Nisara's hands flashed swiftly. A vibrodagger appeared in her right hand from somewhere within the folds of her robes, and was immediately sent spinning end over end, flying toward the woman's throat at the extreme speed that only a warrior's throw could muster. In her left hand a blaster pistol appeared. She aimed swiftly, timing her shot so that it would connect with the woman's right knee at the same time that the vibrodagger would connect with her throat. She timed it so perfectly, in fact, that the shot from the blaster would be hitting the woman's knee as it was pushed forward in her charge. Putting the weight of her charging body on a single leg that had just taken a blaster bolt would undoubtedly send the woman sprawling to the ground, were it to hit. She could deflect one attack with her lightsaber, but she could not deflect both without impaling some part of her on one of the blades of her saberstaff, which is exactly why Nisara had attacked in such a way. One of the many disadvantages of such a weapon was its limited maneuverability, thanks to the plasma beams that cut through almost anything without any effort. Unlike a regular double-bladed sword, such an instrument's blades could not be brought into contact with your own body.

The moment the blaster shot was off Nisara was rolling backward off her waist-high durasteel crate, landing on her feet behind it, another vibrodagger coming into her right hand. This woman, and especially this Voren Makr, had made a mistake. She had no desire to kill either of them, but now that she had been forced into it she would not hold back. She watched her opponent carefully, falling into a defensive stance with her body turned sideways, her left foot back and her right foot forward for balance. Her vibrodagger was held in a reversed grip in front of her body, ready to block any melee attacks the woman might throw at her.

One would never get far in the dog-eat-dog world of commerce and industry if it was not for the basic concepts of business. Buy Low, Sell High. In Czerkas case this often meant following the maxim 'Life is cheap, but my life is worth more.' and this mentaility was shown in the Czerka Security Departments way of acting. Act fast, mitigate the risk, lower the threat, and everyone is happy. These core tenants played a vital part in the manner in which the company operated, and ironically it had a procedure for monitoring the risk levels around its core strategic assets, such as buildings, and corpulent directors.

Stage 1: Identify Risk.
Stage 2: Mitigate Risk.
Stage 3: Monitor and repeat.

In this particular circumstance, the CEO had already noted the outcome of stage one, and was now well and truly onto stage two and three. With two powerful force users about to have it out around him, the Director decided to rely on the most basic of human instincts when presented with a threat such as this, but also to play to the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) aspect of the company, namely the creation - and subsequent use - of skilled jobs.

Mitigate, he thought, as he turned and ran as fast as he possibly could toward the exit, screaming for his security to intervene, ten of which, armed in the usual way, ran up to him forming a human wall around him. He realised he had achieved the companies CSR directive, and was making use of skilled labor.

Slamming the door shut behind him, he made the executive decision that stage three of the risk management process would be better completed from the safety of his ship, and started running toward the shuttle, the sound of stamping feet from the Security Units echoing from around him, as he shouted at the pilot and co-pilot of the shuttle to ''Get me the hell away from here!''

The security fanned out behind him as he ran up the ramp into the shuttle, and once he was inside, they would peel back and join him inside the ship.

Hold your head high, centered between your shoulders, and your back straight. Focus your gaze approximately 30-40 yards in front of you. Relax your jaw and neck. Keep your shoulders relaxed and parallel to the ground.

Simple techniques, and that was how Ari-Ani ran. She did not lean forward in some ridiculous manner with her arms trailing uselessly behind her like a ninja from an animated show. So, when the Echani's blade and bolt came flying at her, aimed to strike her leg and neck, Ari was able to easily deflect them both simultaneously.

Ari and her saberstaff were far more maneuverable than the sith assumed them to be if she thought that her blade and bolt would hit. It was relatively easy to hold the saberstaff away from her body and snap it into an angled, upright position to block both blade and bolt.

The Sith's attack out of the way, Ari was upon her, she struck out and aimed to cut the woman in half. As she did so, the unused end of her blade deactivated and she utilized only her right hand to swing her weapon. Her left hand readied.

Nisara watched the movements of her opponent, studying her even as she charged right at her. She knew how to fight. That much was clear just from her movements. Simple, efficient things. Most novices tended to try and get fancy and showy, and ended up dying because of it. This one? She did none of those things. No silly flourishes, no unnecessary twists or flips, just simple, practiced movements. It was a nice sight to see. Nisara would have felt slightly bad murdering some poor novice that didn't know what they were doing. She'd have deserved it if she was a novice acting in such a manner, but it would be a waste all the same.

In one swift motion Nisara drove her vibrodagger downward at the lightsaber blade, intercepting the horizontal attack about half a foot from her body. At the same time as this was happening, her left wrist flicked up and she squeezed the trigger of her blaster, firing a bolt at the woman's chest. Her movements were so smooth that once again the actions occurred simultaneously, timed so that the vibrodagger would block the lightsaber at the same time that her blaster would fire.

Chandrila was a delightful place at this time of day, the sun slowly setting over the top of the City-scape. Voren admired it, as the ramp was nearly closed on the shuttle, the last of the ADU now on board. An idea however, had occurred to him - grabbing a high quality CNN camera - he shoved one of the guards off.

''Get it on tape.'' he snickered, offering a snarcy wave as the ramp finally shut, and he walked on board.
Sitting down in his comfortable chair in the captains cabin of the shuttle, pouring himself a drink as he settled down, the shuttles landing gear clunking up causing him to jolt slightly.

Tutting to himself, he looked out of his cabin at the warehouse below - seriously hoping he wouldn't need to hire in a new Director of Security. Shaking the thought from his head, he closed the viewing port, bringing up a comm link to the main bridge.
''Get us back to HQ.'' he asked politely, as the pilot inidicated his compliance, veering the ship off in the direction of the HQ tower.

The moment her lightsaber came in contact with the blade of the warrior, Ari made two simultaneous movements. Ari uses the Force to increase her speed through these movements. With her readied left hand, she 'caught' the blaster bolt with her hand as best she could before it would reach her chest. It was an easy thing, being able to see the blaster and guess the trajectory of its bolt from the direction it was pointed. Utilizing the Force, she was able to negate some of the damage, but her hand ended up being badly burned(3rd degree). It was a simple concept, to disperse energy, but a complex one to utilize correctly if not specifically trained in it.

Simultaneously, with her right hand she rotated her lightsaber blade around the knife, not bothering to hold Nisara's knife in a lock. The moment the other side of the dual sided lightsaber was pointed away from Ari's body, she ignited it and continued pushing it towards Nisara. The blade's angle aiming to decapitate her. All she had to do in order to push her blade in this manner was keep moving forward with both body and arm, and that's exactly what the taller woman did. If Nisara kept pressure on her knife, then the sith warrior's weapon would end up sliding harmlessly away from their bodies and towards on the side of Ari's saberstaff.

Nisara let the lightsaber go when the beast-like woman began rotating it away from the both of them. She knew what such an action meant. It meant the other blade would be swiping at her from the other side momentarily. With such bad burns Ari-ani's left hand would be far less useful throughout the remainder of this engagement, which removed a lot of potential strength from strikes made with the left blade, but Nisara did not forget about it. She brought her vibrodagger, which was still held in its reverse grip, back up toward where she knew the other blade would be heading, causing it to collide with the other end of the security chief's saberstaff as it was sent sweeping upward in an attempt to decapitate her. She didn't block it so dangerously close to herself this time, however. Instead she moved the dagger forward, giving it enough momentum that were it to not meet the resistance of the lightsaber blade it would continue onward and into the gigantic woman's torso.

As her dagger came into contact with the blade, stopping it from decapitating her, her left hand tilted downward and slightly to the left, firing another shot off, this one aimed at Ari's right knee. Both of her actions worked in synchronisation, her dagger intersecting with the blade in such a way that from its direction it would not be able to move any further toward Nisara's body, or in that direction at all, which halted any attempt to swing the opposite blade down and deflect the bolt aimed at Ari-ani's knee, since for it to move in that direction the blade aimed at Nisara's neck had to keep moving to the right (which is Nisara's left), an action Nisara's dagger had stopped it from performing. If Ari-ani tried to push through anyway and it came down to a battle of strength, she would undoubtedly win, as the physically stronger fighter, but all Nisara had to do was delay her for a split second, which she was extremely capable of doing.
