-- This thread starts right after this thread --

Preef felt the lightsaber hilt against his skin and looked straight into a helmet. "I can't both take off-" his shoulders rose and dropped in a subtle and uncaring shrug, "-and fly you safely through the Sith space." By the looks of the ash on the man's tunic and the fact he carried a lightsaber, one didn't need to be as smart as Marissa to figure out that somehow one of the Jedi terrorists had managed to find their way into the fortress. "But I will say that this was all a lot of fuss to kill Magistrate Phoeya," he shook his head and slowly brought up both his hands to eye-level to show he didn't intent to resist.

"There's Iridonian whiskey in the fridge," he continued, still seemingly uncaring about the threat on his life. If there was one thing Preef Callo knew it was staring death in the eyes and putting a bolt right between them... but he also knew that without his personal access codes it was impossible to get his ship out of Sith space.

Besides... he was more curious than anything. He wanted to know why they had done such a stupid thing, wasted away valuable resources and lives just to kill a lowly administrator. Preef was missing something, he was sure of it, but he just couldn't figure out what.. and *that* was nagging him.

He had to give the Rodian credit: he seemed completely unfazed by what was happening. Or was he just clueless? Or mercenary? Only caring about his next paycheck rather than any loyalty to the Sith. That seemed to fit with the Sith in general.

Or maybe he was crazy? Phoeya? Who even was that? And what kind of a name was that? It was far worse than Sreenix, which Talak recalled was the name of the last administrator when he'd been a Sith.

Just get us out of Sith space and we can all pretend none of this ever happened, he said, wanting more than anything to put this day behind him even though he knew that wouldn't happen.

He forced his mind to stay off of Trys lest he start despairing over what had happened.

How's she doing? he shouted back to Crix, having no idea that Crix and Preef actually knew one another already. @Nefieslab @Eccles

Well he could tell that the ship they were hiding out on was better than average when it came to keeping up to date on maintence just by casting an eye around the place. But he was really only looking over the engine and other, visible, parts of the ship because he was trying to not look at his mother. He'd gotten her inside and tucked away behind some secured boxes and she had literally just slumped against the corner and slid down it to just... sit.

Sit there looking like a puppet with all of it's strings cut, breathing almost by memory alone at this point. It hurt to focus on his mom, his explosively lively mom, and see her so devoid of anything even remotely resembling her prior fire for life. A small part of him had held out hope that getting her away from the cell level and it's oppressive feeling would help her.

Maybe it was - but he couldn't see it.

Unable to focus on the engine any longer, Crix stared at his mom from a distance away. It was impossibly difficult but he stayed at least five feet away from her, just rocking slightly in a crouch as he looked at her. Watched her struggle to just exist as she was... it both made him want to hug her and to run away, to try and run and hide from the reality of what had become of his mom. In the end he was paralyzed into inaction, just watching her instead.

"She..."
he shook his head and pushed himself to his feet, making sure she was securely in place before forcing himself to walk away from her, to move closer to Talak, "Talak she..."

She... what?

She wasn't doing well? She looked like a shell of her former self? She didn't seem to have any will to live left inside of her?

"No change."
he settled on eventually, pausing as he eyed the Rodian that Talak had been talking to, recognition sparking slowly in his head, "H-hey... I meet you before? Coruscant, right?"

Kark this had better not be his over-worked brain making him racist by making the assumption that this Rodian was the same one who had given him a lift before. But, well, he did look alike even to Crix's tired mind.
