"It changed its colour to match me? What do you mean?" T'vani asked, looking back down at the crystal. The colour had stopped changing and fully settled on the bright magenta. The nuances of a kyber crystal changing colour were lost on her, but the colour was unmistakably ideal for the small girl.

It was vibrant warmth and inspired kindness, generosity, understanding, and love. It was free-spirited and passionate, uplifting and supportive. It was inviting by drawing others to it and embracing them for who and what they were. T'vani might not realise it, but the crystal portrayed her in the most ideal way it could. It had chosen her, even if she didn't understand what it meant in the present moment.

"As long as I didn't do anything wrong,"
T'vani continued, bringing the crystal closer to her body again. The Fiani momentarily stared into its enchanting hues before depositing it in her bag again. Once it was secured, she looked back towards Mako. "Did I do good?" she asked. The girl didn't seem too concerned about finding where they needed to go to register anymore. She seemed entirely content to stay here and plainly enjoying herself.

"Can a lot of people not do what I did?"
T'vani inquired further. "You looked surprised. Is what I did not normal for people just joining the Jedi?"

Mako pondered T'vani's question for a moment, trying to find the right words to explain.

"There are theories surrounding the color of a kyber crystal in relation to their Jedi, that certain colors indicate certain attributes of their wielders. Just theories though." Mako said with a wave of his hand as if to dismiss the thought. "Whatever the deeper truth to this, it is known that a kyber changes color when it has become bonded with it's master. Such as what we just witnessed." He said with a small smile as he gestured to the magenta colored crystal in T'vani's hand.

"You did great." Mako said in a comforting tone. The young one seemed more than content now, her earlier fears and worries washed away by the meditation gardens and a taste of her own competence.

"It's not abnormal." Mako said in answer to her latter question, considering just how much would be wise to tell her. Confidence was a good thing, but too much pride could be the downfall of a fledgeling Jedi. "You are a talented young lady, and I have no doubt you will make a fine Jedi one day." Mako said confidently. He didn't want to push any ideas of grandiose on her, laud her as a prodigy or any such thing. It was impressive how quickly she picked things up though.

The theory that kyber crystals changed their colour to reflect their master perplexed T'vani. She couldn't comprehend how or why a crystal would be capable of recognising someone, much less choosing that someone as its master. The Force worked in mysterious ways that nobody may ever truly understand in their lifetimes. Perhaps it was better not to understand and let the magic of it all remain a mystery.

As Mako complimented T'vani, regardless of how reserved it may have been, they did a lot to perk up the girl's spirit. It served well to bolster her confidence and assure her she was in the right place, even if she initially doubted it. She beamed at Mako's praise, her tail erratically swishing behind her. The stone underneath her bottom was pristine now, the dust and dirt having been transferred to the appendage, dulling its otherwise immaculate appearance. She had covered it with a thin layer of brown where it was initially a bright white.

"Sadis,"
she said. "That means 'thank you' in Fianan," T'vani explained. "For bringing me here and showing me these things. I feel a lot better now," the young girl thanked Mako, still glowing with joy. "Are we going to get in trouble for taking so long to go where I needed to, though? I don't want you to get in trouble because of me."

The girl certainly took the praise well as she practically swept the stone behind her clean with it. This elicited a small chuckle from Mako, which only continued as she expressed her concern over them getting into trouble.

"Well you certainly won't be getting into any trouble." Mako said as he stifled the humor from his throat, cutting his verbal amusement short though it still twinkled in his dark eyes. "And I certainly don't need the help of a youngling to get myself into trouble."

This drew another chuckle out of him and he let it happen, half covering his mouth before making his way to his feet.

"But perhaps you are right, we shouldn't tarry here much longer. There's still the training hall to get to, to test your swordsmanship." He said with a small grin as he held a hand out for T'vani to help her to her feet if she needed it. Sitting on hard stone for so long could be difficult for those who weren't used to it. "If the registrar is angry, I'll just tell them I was giving you a tour and testing your aptitude for them." Which wasn't exactly a lie. There was no need to tell the registrar about the girls nervousness and anxieties if she didn't want to.

When Mako offered his hand, T'vani gratefully accepted. The girl placed her palm in his hand, using the man's size and weight to pull herself up to her feet with a grunt. Once standing, she patted down her clothing to remove the splotches of dust covering her backside. As pleasant as their time had been, she could feel the stiffness in her legs and the soreness behind her from sitting on the hard rock for such a long period. Their time for pleasantries was over, and it was time for her to be inducted as an initiate properly.

"Still, I don't want you to get in trouble,"
T'vani said. "You were really nice and helped me a lot. I don't think they'll be mad about that," she confidently stated. If it weren't for Mako, she may have yet to make it to the registrar any earlier than they were making it now. Their chance meeting had helped put her mind at ease and helped her find the confidence to carry through with her desire to join the Jedi Order.

"I hope I get to know you for a long time, Mister Krim,"
the young Fiani girl said as the two began walking together again.
