GADF
Hey, I want to discuss the GADF. I believe the GA failed because of the mentality people have of controlling a soldier. They believe a soldier to be weak and they're right but the strength of a soldier lies in their numbers and not their individuality.
This brings about another problem for the GADF. There are not enough people to fill the ranks of the army. I think if we can change the perception people have on how to role-play a soldier we can get more members to join the GADF. Join as actual soldiers and not just Jedi in the military.
Look I know I've made a lot of suggestions before and that I'm not a fan favourite but I really think this can work. Hope you guys will consider this and know that I'll be willing to help by example. The first step should be to clearly define character types. I suggest the two character types to be troopers, and pilots.
Troopers
The way people should role-play a trooper is as a part of a squad. A squad consists of 8 units. One person can control a squad and its members.
Trooper Classes
There are four trooper classes available to trooper characters in the GA and IE. A member role-playing a trooper character will be given a squad of 8 troopers to be used in missions and battles. Each squad will consist of 4 Assault Troopers, 2 Heavy Troopers, a Medic Trooper, and a Sharpshooter Trooper.
List of Classes
Assault Trooper Equipment
• DC-15A Blaster Rifle
• DC-15S Side Arm Blaster
• V-1 Thermal Detonators
• LXR-6 Concussion Grenades
• Utility Belt containing grappling hook, spare ammunition, ration supplies and medical kit.
Heavy Trooper Equipment
• PLX-1 Missile Launcher
• DC-17 Hand Blaster
• V-1 Thermal Detonators
• HX2 Anti-Personal Mines
Sharpshooter Trooper Equipment
• Utility Belt containing grappling hook, spare ammunition, ration supplies and medical kit.
Medic Trooper Equipment
• DC15S Side Arm Blaster
• 2 Vibroscalpels
• Laser Scalpel
• 2 Laser Cauterizers
• Utility Belt containing grappling hook, spare ammunition, ration supplies and medical kit.
Sharpshooter Trooper Equipment
• DC-15X Sniper Rifle
• DC15S Side Arm Blaster
• V-1 Thermal Detonators
• R-1 Recon Droid
• Utility Belt containing grappling hook, spare ammunition, ration supplies and medical kit.
Pilots
The way people should role-play a pilot is as a part of a squadron. A squadron consists of 12 units. One person can control a squadron and its members.
This is basically having a main character and supporting characters like in a movie. The possibilities are limitless. A person can role-play being a non-commissioned officer in the unit and controlling the other character or as an officer while controlling the rest of the units as well.
What does this mean? Well we all know Jedi/Sith can take on multiple opponents right? Bounty Hunters can do that too because of all their cool gadgets and stuff. So making a soldier character is actually getting a small group which is what you fight with. So if Player 1 had a trooper character (with his squad) and he fought Player 2's Jedi/Sith. It would be the 8 soldiers vs the Jedi/Sith.
This is only a rough draft and I will work on something more concrete if admin allows me to.
