BIOGRAPHY
Galateia Sappho is the elder twin sister to Elektra, current matriarch of house Juvexia. Originating from moderate nobility, the Sappho family established their wealthy lineage within the mining industry; in later years, focus would shift towards the specific finding of precious materials such as gems and jewels. During the time of their birth, the twins were among the richest heiresses in the Tion sector. Raised in the lap of luxury and decadence, Galateia and her sister wanted for naught. As with all wealth, there came greed. Conflict arose and Galateia’s parents fell victim to the machinations of a nefarious uncle; their demise was nothing short of murder. Galateia and Elektra became the orphaned heiresses and were utterly at the mercy of their uncle and his ambitious devices.
Being the eldest of the two, Galateia was first to be married off. Her husband-to-be was (rather awkwardly) a man far beyond her years, making the entire arrangement greatly unpleasant. Despite her ranting and raving, Galateia was wed but the marriage was, thankfully, short lived, with the husband meeting a rather untimely demise. It was long suspected that Galateia herself was somehow responsible.
After a relatively brief period of mourning, Galateia reverted back to her ancestral name. She would also warn her uncle against any further marriages, going so far as to personally threaten each and every prospective match that was suggested. Angered by her disobedience, the twins’ uncle threatened to exile the eldest Sappho daughter.
Despite their youth, the sisters successfully launched a coup d'etat against their uncle, and once more claimed their rightful place within the family. Elektra’s marriage was far more advantageous and it provided the family with much influence and prestige resulting in their relocation to the Juvexia sector. Whilst she is the elder of the twins, Galateia opts to take the role of Elektra’s doppelgänger and handmaiden. Since arriving into their new territory, the sisters have been rather successful in maintaining their singular identity.
PERSONALITY
The Tionese noble is every bit as vicious and vain as her sister, with both twins exhibiting rather cruel tendencies. Such behaviour manifested early in adolescence and is likely a result of their turbulent childhood. Galateia is rather prone to explosive bouts of anger and shows little to no empathy for others.
One could argue that Galateia is rather narcissistic and in reality cares little about those around her, including her blood relations. Save, perhaps, her twin. Galateia sees Elektra as an extension of herself, and therefore worthy of preservation. In private, away from prying eyes, she can be (in her own way) rather affectionate but to the outside world, Galateia is just another handmaiden, stoic and loyal in her duty. She rarely, if ever speaks and seldom reveals her face.
SKILLS
Whilst Elektra is more adept at subtle, more courtly manipulation, Galateia opts for intimidation and violence. Though just as beautiful as her twin, this elder sister prefers the use of force when it comes to disputes.
In taking on the role of her sister’s doppelgänger, Galateia has modelled herself much like the handmaidens of Naboo. She has received training in hand to hand combat, as well lessons in marksmenship and basic piloting. Though the twins are sensitive to the force, it was never fostered, resulting in a rather weak connection.
