R.S.S Indomitable
Class: Redacted
Coordinates: Redacted
Mission: Redacted

Stationed in an unknown area, the Indomitable serves as the mobile barracks of the GAR Special Forces. The ship itself was old and re-purposed to fit the needs of the GAR in the designed role. Crewed by a full compliment of GAR Navy who rarely interacted with the Special Forces, the Indomitable was amply supplied complete with a large Mess Hall serving meals at all times, a small yet well stocked firing range and multiple lounges intended for use in Down Time, it was certainly more a place for R&R than an actual front line combat. That being said it was still a fully functioning ship of the GAR Navy and sported a full armament of Turbolasers as well as shuttles for transit, should the need arise. Due to it being intended for Special Forces its location was rarely known except to those who needed to know as it flitted from system to system, a home away from home for the boots on the ground.

This is a place for GAR to get to know one another and RP between missions. As for the ship itself, feel free to "Add" appropriate rooms and facilities when and where you see fit. I purposely kept the write-up rather vague so people had to chance to change the environment to their wishes. This is open to ALL GAR (Boarder Alliance) personnel to use as they see fit. Outside of the Republic, please PM before entering.

Mess Hall
Located in the main bulk of the ship, the Mess Hall was ample size for the compliment on-board. It offered hot and cold meals at all times of the day, though the peak hours were 07:00 and 18:00. At other times there would always be a smattering of off-duty personnel lounging around the tables or chowing down on some belated meal. The kitchen was mostly run by rudimentary droids with the occasional chef helping out. As well as offering hot and cold meals, there was a bank of self dispensing vending machines on the back wall. These stocked tastier morsels than the kitchen, though the light snacks had to be purchased from your own pocket. Banks of holoscreens were dotted around the walls usually screening the news or some sporting event.

Lounges

The Lounges were few in number, dotted in tucked away areas around the ship. While not strictly officer lounges, the GAR Navy personnel rarely ventured inside. It was widely known as Special Forces territory, staffed by personnel with higher levels of clearance than most. Because of this, talk of Special Forces missions and operations was allowed, within reason. Stocking a full hold of alcoholic beverages (This was a R&R Vessel, after all) the staff held authority to cut off anyone who had drank too much. A key-coded weapons locker stood by the door; it was regulation to leave your weapon in such if you were drinking. Holoscreens showed the usual channels in the corners of the room and some of the booths were even set up to allow soldiers to play card games.

Shooting Range and Training Facilities
state%20of%20the%20art%20gun%20range.jpg

Located in the under-section of the ship was a live fire shooting and training facility. The range was short and rather cramped, though it still allowed Special Forces to hone their accuracy while not on deployment. It had a console beside to allow configuration for pop-up targets, time trial or simple targets used to practise a particular weapon.

Artorias walked into the lounge. It was one of the quieter ones, with more of a serene atmosphere instead of the rowdy drinking fests that were some of the others on the ship.
His last mission had been rather tough on his body and it still felt great to just sit down and relax. Getting of the attention of the barkeep, he ordered a gin. He took a sip.
"Ah... nothing like a drink after the end of a hard mission..."

Looking around for some sort of conversation, he spotted a young man sitting alone to his right, nursing a glass of some sort of drink.
Scooting over, he attempted to strike up a conversation,
"Hey there, I'm Artorias, nice to meetcha."

@Sivaprasad Get your man Atol Hass in here and lets have some feels :)

Atol was bored. Bored out of his friggin' skull. Why the hell he'd agreed to come on this ship, he wasn't sure.
His Counsellor had talked him into it, something about 'needing time to himself, to relax and maybe deal with any issues he had'. Damn shrinks, overpaid bunch of smartasses, the lot of them...

He would much rather be on the shooting range, rather than wasting time sitting here with some strange-looking orange drink in front of him.
The barkeep had said its name, some weird alien muck or something, but Atol wasn't listening. When the barkeep made some snarky comment to the man beside him after Atol was walking away, 'poor sod, he looks like he needed it', Atol briefly considered throwing him headfirst out the nearest airlock. Why did people keep saying that he needed to 'relax', to 'loosen up'?

His father would have called them a bunch of wimps, that's for sure. At least he taught Atol how to be a proper man. Not that he missed the old bastard. If there was a hell somewhere in the galaxy, Atol hoped his dad was roasting in it...

Wait, no, that wasn't true. He had respected his father. He had to. "Damnit, I'm gonna go shoot something. This ain't helping me any." Atol muttered to himself.

Just then, some old git came over, introduced himself. Artorias, what kinda dumbass name was that?
Still, he figured that he'd better show at least a little respect, this was a Special Forces guy after all.
"Sorry mate, I'm just leaving. Gonna get some time in on the shooting range."
Atol got up and walked past the man, towards the exit from the lounge.
'If anyone tries to stop me, force help them', Atol thought as he rushed towards the exit.

Artorias looked on in surprise as the brusque man brushed past him as he headed towards the exit. It wasn't everyday where someone just up and leaves right when you start a conversation with them. He chuckled a little bit, this young man was interesting, and Artorias wanted to talk to him a little bit more. Sitting alone in a quiet lounge was never appealing to the old man, as he was the type to socialize and get to know people.

So, despite his aching joints, he decided to go with the man,
"The shooting range? I'll come with you, I've been meaning to pay it a visit anyway."

As he followed the young man out of the room, he once again tried to strike up a conversation.
"So, you seem rather familiar with the ship, how long have you been in SpecOps? I've only been here for a little, Command drafted me in after Coruscant."

Artorias' desire to get to know his fellow soldiers drove him to try to get to know this brusque young man.

Oh brother... This old man didn't know when to quit. Oh well, Atol thought, I can't exactly tell him to not go to the shooting range. It's a free ship.

The old geezer followed him out of the room, firing more questions at poor Atol who just wanted to be left alone, he replied as he walked along:
"Not long. Since Coruscant, like you. I saved...some people. Got drafted in after that".

Atol entered the shooting range and went to choose a weapon. He briefly considered asking this Artorias guy to have a little competitive target practice. Decided not to, though. No point in humiliating the old duffer.

As the young man answered his question, Artorias couldn't help but remember the horrors he saw on Coruscant. Picking up a weapon and setting up at the station next to the man, he continued,
"Coruscant. What a tragedy. Worse than some of the raids that the BA did with CorSec, and those were real ****storms."

Talking about this kind of thing depressed him, so he tried to change the subject,
"So, any particular reason you joined up? Friends, family, you know, anything like that?"

"Nothing better to do, I guess." Atol replied, whilst accurately taking out 9 out of the 10 targets with his chosen blaster pistol.
"What do you care anyway? And what do you know about the raids the BA did with Corsec?"

Aiming his carbine downrange, Artorias spoke in between shots,
"What do I know about the raids that we did with CorSec..."

He put down his weapon and examined his target downrange. Only 7 out of 10, a meager amount considering the young man right next to him had scored 9 with only a blaster pistol while Artorias had a carbine.

"Well for one, I was part of the team that the Bandomeer Militia sent to help 'em out. You see, this was a little before the BA days during the time where I served with the Bandor Militia, which was maybe around fifteen, maybe twenty years ago."

Artorias turned quiet as he reloaded his weapon and once again aimed downrange. The raids that CorSec did during those times were often compared to riding a dropship into hell, as they were mainly targeted against slaver groups. The monsters would use their slaves as disposable shields while trying to escape, so the battles were more like civilian massacres.

While Artorias' squad tried their best not to hurt the slaves caught in the crossfire, the CorSec officers were ordered to gun down anything that got in their way, willingly or not.

"They were bad, real bad."

Artorias was immersed in his memories when a thought suddenly hit him.
"Say, one of the officer's I was teamed with had the last name of Hass... What was his name... I can't seem to remember..."

He stopped firing downrange and tried his best to remember the name.

Now this guy was really getting Atol's full attention. Atol immediately put the facts together, being not as slow as many thought he was.
"John Hass? That was my dad's name. 28 years ago, he quit working for CorSec. When I was 5. Your memory ain't bad, old timer."

Atol put down the blaster and stared intently at Artorias for a few seconds, before looking away. As he started up a minute long time trial and picked up the blaster again, he fought with himself. Should I ask, or should I not...
Within 50 seconds Atol had hit all 30 targets, from a medium distance away. Finally, he couldn't bear not to ask any longer. He activated the safety on the blaster, and let it hang loosely at his side as he spoke, looking straight at Artorias.

"You said it was real bad... What happened? Just asking while I got nothing better to do."

"John Hass? I remember him. He was a good man. He was the officer in charge during his last raid before he retired. Before the raid started he was telling us about how excited he was to get home and see his family."

Artorias put down his weapon, fully immersing himself in the memories,
"It's a shame too, that last raid was the worst."

Leaning against the wall, Artorias took a moment to steady himself and continued,
"We had around 15 men. The plan was to blow the door and rush in, catch the slavers by surprise. It didn't work, they knew we were coming. There were maybe twenty slavers and mercs in there, each of them had a slave in front of them, using them as human shields. At first, they were slaughtering us, several of the CorSec members went down right before your father's eyes. His buddies for many years died in an instant."

Artorias stopped for a moment, the next memories digging up a long buried hate towards slavers and organized crime, something he thought he had put aside way back when.

After he checked himself, he started speaking once more,
"We turned the tide of battle, but it was terrible. We established a foothold, got some cover, and started throwing dets. I can't remember exactly what happened next, but I do remember that each of us had 2-3 TDets with us, and that by the end of it, we had used them all. The carnage was brutal. It turned out that there were other slaves nearby, and the explosions had killed double the amount of innocents than it did guilty."

He looked at Atol, continuing the story,
"We were all shook really hard by that, but your father was hit the worst. Most of his friends were dead, and he was responsible for the death of around 50 innocent people, people that he was in charge of saving."

Internally, Atol was reeling. This was all too much to take in, at least it was too much right now.
"That's...I didn't..my dad never..never told me that stuff. He didn't say much. Yelled a lot though. And he..."

At this point, Atol's words trailed off altogether. A kaleidoscope of images and memories whirled inside his mind. A fist. Shouting. Imaginary shredded corpses of the innocent people he'd just heard about. Too much, too many thoughts...

"Um, sorry. That you went through that, I mean. Well, I'm done here. See you around..Artorias."

Atol marched out of the room, unable to control what he was feeling much longer. If Artorias followed him out, Atol would not be able to be found. His allotted time onboard this ship was nearly over, anyway. It was time to go back to work soon. Maybe they would meet again one day.
