The temple gardens were always pretty and calm.
When Maura first came to the Jedi temple, she used to come out here whenever she got frustrated to lay down and stare at the clouds. Eventually, someone told her that it was called "cloud gazing". She liked that name because it reminded her of stargazing, which was another thing she liked to do. It'd been a while since she'd come out to see the gardens though. Now that she finally had a master, she was finally able to train more outside of her classes. Master Voran was busy a lot, so it wasn't too much time. With the stupid anti-Jedi stuff going on she'd been even busier, leaving Maura with even more free time. So she decided to go cloud gazing.
To her surprise, the gardens were even prettier than she remembered. "Ew, I'm thinking like an old man," Maura giggled to herself as she strode out into the garden, embarrassed by her "old person" thoughts. Her giggles inspired a fit of energy, and without warning, the pointy-eared child erupted forward. She raced out into the outdoors, stopping only once she reached a patch of grass. Her heels dug into the ground, causing her to lurch forward, but she used the momentum to swing herself around so she would fall on her back.
"Aw, there aren't any clouds!" So much for cloud gazing. Maura sat back up and looked around for something interesting to catch her attention. Her big black eyes were drawn to a bush littered with budding pink roses nearby, so she flipped over on her knees and crawled over to it. Without thinking, she reached out, grabbed one of the flowers, then held it gently in her palm.
"Roses are so pretty..." She brought it closer to her face and breathed in the floral scent with closed eyes. Maura then reopened her eyes and stared at the rose for several seconds, a train of thoughts running through her head.
"Ahhh-mph." With both hands, Maura shoved the flower into her mouth and began to chew. "This doesn't taste as good as it smells..."
