The ruins of the once proud Jedi Temple lay before the lone Jedi Knight. The moon shown brightly through the clear night, casting a silver glow over it all. In a sad, eerie and strange sort of way, the scene was actually beautiful.

Tynian stood facing the crumbled entrance to what was once the main hall of the temple itself... He knew what was inside. He had been here before.
Pulling his deep blue cloak around him, he took a breath and walked inside. As he walked he kept alert via the force, to anything that may try to ambush him, but at the moment, nothing was daring to.
Stepping into the once great hall, Tynian looked around. This place was very familiar to him... For it was here that he had suffered his greatest defeat, and also it was here that he had achieved his greatest victory. It's interesting he thought how the living force works... The wisdom to use one ruined place to teach him the most about rebuilding one's self.
He smiled and went to the center of the room... even though it was dark and quiet, this place no longer brought him fear, rather in fact it was here that he had come back to time and time again to meditate and to think things out.

It was his place of comfort... The old ruined temple was now his place of refuge, of solitude.

It was good that he had come here, for he had a lot to think about.
Years had gone by since his first trip here with his former master Kane. He had grown since then, in fact he had recently taken and passed the trials to become a Knight. He was no longer an apprentice, yet he still had decisions to make, even harder decisions...
Upon being knighted, Tynian had chosen the path of a Sentinel, and yet now he needed to figure out what that exactly meant.
How could he best serve those in need around the galaxy? That was one question that kept creeping into his mind. What can one Jedi do, in support of the Order as a whole, and how does he fit into the "grand scheme of things". He genuinely wanted to make a difference for good in the galaxy, he just needed to know how to go about it.

The other question weighing on his mind was that of skill. Although he wielded a double-bladed lightsaber, and was quite proficient with the weapon, he knew he still needed more training. Kane had told him that he had advanced quickly in his training in the last few years, more than most in his position, but Tynian still felt he needed much more work.
Where exactly to find that help? He didn't know. Perhaps the force would guide him to someone who could help him.

He took his cloak off, revealing his new armor. He needed to work out the kinks and move in it so it becomes much like his own skin. Taking out and activating his lightsaber, Tynian began going through the basic kata taught to him by Kane.
As he began, his movements were small and didn't make him go far beyond the spot where he stood... but as he progressed through the kata, his movements took him all over the area.

After an hour or so, he stopped to adjust a few pieces of his armor, and then sat down.
The questions still remained... so he closed his eyes to meditate on the force.

Ossus.

A planet Kane thought of often as of late, the Sith had destroyed this temple and now they had destroyed the temple on Jedha. All for that one sith master. Serie Fond. Kane did not hate her, that was not the Jedi way. He did pity her, someone with such promise so corrupted by the dark side.

He liked to think of his former apprentice Tynian as her light side opposite. The young man was constantly growing more and more powerful in the force and one day Kane expected that be would hear of Tynians feats all accross the galaxy. Though he of course planned to be there for as many as he could -or was wanted for-

As the old Crusader put down a mostly ruined book on various force applications, next to a page that held diagrams depicting various lightsaber techniques. Then he heard a lightsaber echoing somewhere within the temple, and he decided that he should investigate.

He took his lightsaber from his belt and held it in his hand as he walked through the halls, ready to activate it at a moment's notice. Thankfully the way that the duraplast armor plates were stitched onto the armorweave of his jacket and pants he made very little sound he moved, though he made no effort to hide his presence through the force because though though he had not achieved the rank of master he was as powerful as one and he hoped his presence would scare off anyone who meant to do harm off.

Then, as he rounded a corner he saw the blue armor of his former apprentice. The young man who was like a son to him was there in the ruins training. Kane smiled as he clipped his saber back on to his belt and watched for a moment so as not to disturb his friend.

Tynian was breathing a bit heavy from training so hard as he sat down, but he just closed his eyes and let the force calm his body. In doing so, he thought he felt a light touch of the force from someone else in the vicinity. It was non-threatening, so he just stayed seated and decided that if the person wanted to make themselves known, they would.
The touch had a slight familiarity to it as well, so he just smiled and kept his eyes closed.
The questions in his mind still needed answers, and that’s why he had come in the first place.
The force was strong here for the Jedi, even amidst the ruins... and Tynian hoped it was still strong enough to reveal something to him.

Kane cleared his throat to announce himseld before approaching and sitting down next to Tynian.

"Now what brings you to this forsaken place son?"

He chuckled. One day maybe the Jedi would take it back. But for now it was a ruin.

Tynian opened his eyes then looked at Kane. “I thought that was you Father.”
He glanced around the ruins before answering the older Jedi’s question.
“Well, for starters, I’ve actually come back here quite often in the last year or so. It helps clear my head.”
The Ysanna took up a small pebble into his hand and gently tossed it across the ground. The tiny stone bounced a few times then came to rest a few meters away from where the two of them were sitting.
“Just like that pebble in the middle of a great stone ruin, I feel like I am insignificant. I want to make a difference in the galaxy, but even though I am a Knight, and a Sentinel, I really don’t know where to begin, or how to make that difference.”
He looked at Kane, his mentor, and the only real father he ever knew.
“It’s all a bit overwhelming sometimes.”

Kane smiled knowingly and gripped Tynians shoulder reassuringly.

"Trust me son, I know that feeling well. The transition from Crusader to Sentinel was difficult for me. Eventually you just kind of find your thing though."

He chuckled a little before continuing.

"No pebble is insignificant, for though the pebble is small compared to the mounds of rocks in the ruin. If thrown into a lake it can cause ripples that cover the entire surface. So too can you effect the whole galacy my boy, it starts with the smallest action."

Tynian nodded in understanding at Kane’s words. But the question still bagged in his mind.
“What exactly is a Sentinel though. And why was it difficult for you to become one... and how did you cope with it all?”
He smiled at his barrage of questions, remembering what he was like when he first became Kane’s apprentice.
