avatar6385.jpg

NAME: Gedro Valaan
FACTION: Indie
RANK: Error 404: Faction Not Found
SPECIES: Zabrak
AGE: 19
GENDER: Male
HEIGHT: 1.8 m
WEIGHT: 70.8 kg
EYES: Brown
HAIR: No hair
SKIN: Tan
CREDITS: 1,000 credits
DISTINGUISHING MARKS: Face tattoos, crown of horns.
FORCE SENSITIVE: Yes, but he is unaware of it and therefore is completely untrained in any way.

STRENGTH: Gedro has average strength. 5/10
DEXTERITY: Gedro does a lot of jumping, running and dodging. He trains in his free time. 7/10
CONSTITUTION: Zabraks have two hearts and are born naturally tough with a resistance to pain. 7/10
INTELLIGENCE: Dropped out of school for a life of crime. Received basic education. 5/10
WISDOM: Gedro is relatively young, but has had a few experiences dealing with people. 6/10
CHARISMA: Like any good smuggler, Gedro can make and seal a deal. He's gotten his fair share of free drinks, rides and more. His willingness to talk to people gets him in a lot of trouble though. 7/10

PERSONALITY:
Gedro loves to make money. Plain and simple. A rebel wants medical supplies smuggled to Planet X? No problem. Some corrupt bureaucrat needs a shipment of spice delivered to his personal hangar? Easy. An imperial wants his crates of rifles and ammunition on his doorstep in the morning? Didn't even break a sweat. He tends to ignore the empire's dislike of his kind, but is more naturally inclined to aide anyone else. He gets pangs of regret once in a while, but is largely unaffected. All he wants is his pay. Some imps get vaporized in the process? Consider that a bonus. A few rebels get shot down? Eh...that's a shame. In his free time, he runs and visits whatever bars he can find. He is very laid back and calm, only ever donning a serious persona when on a job or when trying to get someone to back off.
BIOGRAPHY:
In Gedro's younger years, he was a decent student and a good person. He spent a lot of his time rough housing with the other Zabraki boys and occasionally shoplifting with them too. He didn't care much for studying, but made up for it by working hard at what he did know and excelling in physical education. As time passed, he grew farther away from academic activities and instead focused on how to shoplift without getting caught, how to smuggle contraband (spice and weapons) into school, etc. These actions all lead up to him dropping out of school, which coincidentally was the same moment he killed his friends. He didn't mean to, mind you. He didn't know they were going to die until it happened. It happened to fast for him to react. Loraad was driving his dad's land speeder, Gedro in the passenger side and his friends Olarr and Reva in the back. They were speeding down a dirt road in the forest when Gedro saw someone in a ditch to the right of the road. He insisted that Loraad pull over so they could help whoever was left on the road, but Loraad said if they brought them to the hospital they'd get into trouble for ditching. After much persuasion and pestering, he agreed to turn around and help the person. Once they pulled over, Olarr and Loraad both got out of the speeder and went over to help the man. That's when it happened. In a blur, Gedro saw the man lurch up and stab Olarr in the neck, while two other men jumped out from behind the trees at them. One shot Loraad and the other was running towards the car. Gedro hopped over the divider into the drivers seat and started speeding away. Unfortunately, what he hadn't noticed was Reva being pulled out of the speeder by the men, kicking him until he stopped moving. One shot at Gedro, but he was gone. He was shaking in his seat. All of his friends had just gotten murdered because he wanted to help someone. He drove Loraad's speeder back to his house, locked himself inside his home and waited. His father was a trader and had left for a few weeks on a business trip, and his mom was a soldier currently deployed. He gathered up all the credits he could find, some clothes, whatever food was in the kitchen and his datapad before going back out to the speeder and driving away. He hadn't left a note or anything. He knew that his friends murders would be connected to him, so he tried to fade away. His family would be better off thinking he died with his friends than thinking he was a coward who ran away, or worse, killed them himself. Gedro came from a family that respected honor. So he dismantled the speeder, sold the parts and bought some guns, for protection. Gedro then went out and started his life as a criminal nobody, hoping to start fresh.

A few years later Gedro was sitting in his apartment sipping some rum he'd found on someone's table at the Wallowing Wampa, the bar next door. He was living life pretty well, in his terms. He had mellowed out a lot, trying to not stress himself too much about his unsavory past. He was also a bit wealthier than his was when he'd set out as a new man. He'd done some odd jobs for a local gang and held a nice job at a delivery service delivering packages to people around the city. He'd made many connections this way, both with the criminal side of the city and the civilians in it. He was casual and friendly with the people he delivered to, and was a regular patron at the local taverns around town. He'd been taking courses on how to use his blaster and how to pilot a starship. He heard a lot of stories from folks at the bar about smuggling and flying through space. Gedro felt that his charming attitude, natural dexterity and endurance, street smarts and tendency to deviate from the law were the perfect set of traits for him to become a scoundrel of the stars, a planetary plunderer, a- you get the point. Anyways, it was that day when his droid would arrive. He'd contacted his friend Farsa'dalesh, a droid dealer, and set up a time for his astromech droid to be delivered to his hangar, where his ship was. He'd gotten the ship pretty cheap. Some mandalorian was looking to sell it, and while Gedro wasn't rich he provided the guy with some contacts in the city to sweeten the deal. He got the ship, and one week after, he'd be meeting his new droid. The concept was exciting to him, as a droid had the ability to live for extended periods of time and a personality, complete with the skills to fly a ship, repair it, and do all sorts of stuff. Gedro spent a lot of money setting up his new smuggler career, leaving him with just about a thousand credits left. Five hours later, Gedro was in the ship with R2-S6, ready to go. Launching off into the stars, he was ready to make a name for himself. And some money, of course.

FORCE POWERS:
None to speak of.
SKILLS:

Skilled Pilot: Gedro knows how to fly his ship pretty well, is he does say so himself. He does fly it with a professionally programmed droid, but pfffft to that.

Gunman: He also knows how to use his pistols, though it rarely comes to that with him. He prefers to not kill, but instead maim or incapacitate. Then maybe take their valuables...

Tumbler: Gedro is rather skilled at jumping, running, dodging, etc. He is light on his feet and heavy in his hand.

Brawler: A large part of Zabrak culture is learning martial combat. In his younger years, he would get in many fights. He knows a thing or two about throwing punches and how to take one.

Charming: Gedro is good at making friends and connections. People love to be around him, and he loves having access to people's things. As mentioned above, he has been able to get more than his share of freebies. On the flip side, he also uses his wide array of facial displays to intimidate others, though if they're more than a drunkard/civilian they will more than likely not fall for it.

LIGHTSABER/SWORD FORMS:
None

STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES:
Strengths: High Charisma, Endurance and Dexterity.

Weaknesses: Gedro is not strong in terms of lifting, throwing, hauling or carrying. As he dropped out of formal schooling, while he does know the tools of the trade, he is largely uninformed about history, current events, medicine, who the Jedi are, what the force is, politics, etc. Most of the time, he relies on customers or bar patrons to get his news on the happenings. He is also not very intimidating. He has no training in the force, and Gedro is very much against killing people himself. Only when he thinks it's a life and death situation will he resort to murder.

GEAR:
Civilian clothes, his two blaster pistols, a data pad, light snacks and a backpack.

<--OPTIONAL CONTENT-->

SHIP:
Gedro possesses a H7-3303. It has been recolored to be a lightish green. Like a lime.
It's named "The Turning Tide"

Love it, love the backstory, love the ship.

Speaking of ships my character Elayne is looking to join/make a crew so if you need a mechanic that's good with a sniper rifle send me a PM and we'll work something out! :)
