General Kristoff Valtiere
Mine is an old name. A name linked to space. Since our progenitor stole a pleasure yacht, my family has had a love affiliation with space. A wise man called it the final frontier.
We were pirates, originally. We have been much since. Kings, beggers, senators, doctors, war criminals, war heroes, Jedi, Sith, serving republics or Empires, we have endured. And that original Valtiere, the pirate King of Thustra, has lived on in each of us.
I joined the republic as a young man, a child, in Sephi terms. But old enough for Republic recruitment into officer training. Space called to me. I joined the Navy, starting out as a lowly midshipman on an old destroyer, relegated to patrolling a barren system. I served aboard Alliance vessels of war for a decade or so, rising up the ranks, hopping from ship to ship, destroyer to light cruiser, to heavy cruiser, onto great battleships, reaching the lofty heights of Captain before I changed career paths, seeking a greater thrill, a challenge for my body as well as my mind. I went into Officer Training for Alliance SpaceOps, similar to Thustran Royal Marine Commandos from older times.
SpaceOps. Boarding and capture of ships, incapacitating them through cunning and the correct application of force. It was thrilling. It was my family's past. The legacy of that first Valtiere. I excelled, again. After almost a quarter of a century of service, and many medals, commendations, and honours, rose to the vaunted rank of General. An honour. However, a general is expected to oversee, to lead from the rear. And so, I have my chosen, the Red drakes. Together, we lead from the fore. With only myself and my red drakes, we can take a battleship. For 5 years, we have been the example of exemplary service. Many have tried to join, but the squad is 'dead man's shoes' recruitment.

An elite unit of SpaceOps veterans, forged in the crucible of war, the Red Drakes are General Valtiere's personal unit. Highly skilled, ultimately flexible, and able to draw upon countless years of battle, the Drakes are a unit to be feared. They have been given the very best of equipment to carry out their roles as a unit that will get the job done.
Major Oliver Trant is General Valtiere's second, and will take command of the unit if the General has to oversee battle. A fierce soldier, the Major is often sent in first, softening up targets and finding inventive ways to the all important bridge.
