CQS-R700
Affiliation:N/A

Ownership: I am producing a general tech for all PC's to use

Intent: (read ownership) In addition, This will provide a new weapon for all players to begin with or use for as long as they please.

Model: CQS-R700 (CQS stands for Closed Quarters Slug-thrower)

Size: This is a standard sized weapon. Equivalent in size to a generic blaster

Composition: This weapon is produced with a durasteel barrel and a plastoid casing/stock

Range: 20 meters before dispersal becomes too much to deal damage through typical armor (more information in description)

Capacity: 6 shells (more in description)

Description
Do you need a sector securing weapon? Too many targets to deal with? the CQS-R700 can help!
The CQS slug-throwers provides soldiers/guards with a weapon that can help with larger crowds in a small environment.
*This weapon is a single shell loading, side loaded weapon that holds 6 shells at a time. In addition, the gun comes default with 6 shell carrying clips on the side for easier reloading.
*The weapon dispels a large cone of shelling that allows the user to hit multiple targets at once. The cone will eventually widen to the point that it will be too dispersed to deal any significant damage (at 20 meters).
*This weapon reloads via pump action so it has a slow rate of fire which helps compensate for its significant close range damage.
*The weapon comes standard with a 3 point aim (one point at the end of the barrel and two at the beginning. you center all the points together blah blah blah)

Hmm. Well, you probably can't expect to penetrate virtually any armor, and it's not really star warsy at all, but the writeup itself is pretty solid.

Well how would you improve armor penetration?

Well, i'd scrap the slugs TBH. Make the entire thing energy based. With slugs, you're always gonna be weaker than a blaster equivalent; at least in most circumstances. So you could probably improve it significantly by making it some sort scattergun. Although, I can see that requiring some somewhat major rewrites, and you would probably have to submit it as tech from there. Although, considering this is a shotgun, and we haven't seen a shotgun yet, you'll probably have to put it through anyways, so it's up to you.

I was actually going to be writing a scattergun too (just trying to open more variety for the forum) so I think Ill leave this for @Clayton to critique and maybe once I post the scattergun you can help me there :D

Sounds good man. Since you're good with this as is, the only other thing I would really suggest is to change the picture to something a bit more sci-fi.

Tag me when you put out your scattergun. Would love to see how you approach it.

edited weapon image to look more sci fi (which is hard when you are basing it off of a modern weapon xD)

Armour penetration is irrelevant, as the tech rules point out that armour has a given rating based on it's class. So Heavy armour is will always, without fail, tank 3 shots from this weapon.

Additionally, slugthrowers are obsolete weapons in Star Wars, used by backwater worlds farmers and other poorly equipped milita. Why would anyone want to use this over a blaster? That is a question you need to think on when submitting slugthrower tech.

You could probably rebrand it as an outer rim rural weapon thingamajig. But @Silverface is right.
well I imagine that a slugthrower is easier for a low level organization to cheeply produce models of. Again since this is generic people can use it how they please although I could label it as such (what you and silverface said)

This weapon will be useless against any form of modern armour. Against anything that isn't normal clothes, unless you're entirely at point blank range. If you're close enough to shake your opponent's hand, then yeah, it'd probably make a decent dent against it, but even then, you'd have to abide by the "three shots to punch through heavy armour" rule. Because of that, I'm afraid I'm going to have to archive it. It's ineffective, too generic, and I'm afraid, due to SWRP's rules... pointless.
