Jaleer was on the Jedi mobile base Galactic Revolution with his legs crossed and his mind calm the sage was disconnected from the world he was asked to teach another padawan the healing arts something he has experience with, the young man wore only his brown pants having removed his brown cloak and the top of his robes it lay neatly on a table to his left. The sage also had his lightsaber, communicator, two metal spheres and a small knife there that was meant to help the new padawan, the sage had no intentions of hurting the other Jedi but rather would use it on himself if their was no one to heal on the ship. Hopefully their was but if not the sage had used himself before to teach the healing arts to others before though many didn't like the fact that he did it was just something he didn't care for, the young Jedi had used it to help himself resist pain and learned where and where not to cut.

Jaleer's blonde hair would be parted to the side and his padawan tail hanging over his right shoulder, his back was facing the door and the young Jedi was alone in the training room, when the other padawan walked in she will find that Jaleer was hard to wake up when he is mediating, but that was just because he knows how to be calm and relaxed something many Jedi need now more than ever thanks to the war.

She had finally returned: the fleet of the Jedi Order.

Though her hiatus had been short, Clara Firestorm had briefly found herself disillusioned temporarily with the Jedi Order. The death of her mother at the hands of the Sith, however, had snapped her from her teenage rebelliousness and brought her into contact with her ancestry. There she learned that her ancestor had been Siri Firestorm, a brave Jedi Master who had fought during the Hutt Wars eons ago. In that moment of revelation, Clara felt the will of the Force for the first time in her life. She was to carry on her family's proud legacy and defend it from the taint of the dark side.

She knew that would eventually mean a confrontation with Darth Judicar, the former Emperor, himself a Firestorm.

For now, though, she sought out the knowledge that the Jedi could teach her. The Jedi Council was still in the process of searching for her a suitable Master. In the meantime, Clara sought out a fellow student, one named Jaleer. She had heard from other Padawans that Jaleer frequently trained with his fellow Padawans to hone his skills with the Force. Seeing this as a learning opportunity, Clara immediately prepared to track him down.

Finding him, as it would turnout, was the easy part.

Clara found Jaleer in a secluded meditation chamber aboard the academy vessel she resided upon. The Padawan was deep in meditation --- something she could see with her eyes, as well as in the Force, where Jaleer radiated like a pillar of pulsating light. Respectful of his peaceful meditation, Clara bowed politely and cleared her throat to draw his attention.

"Jaleer Reukli," she said. "I am Clara Firestorm. Pleased to meet you."

Jaleer was detached from the galaxy but when Clara spoke it dragged the young sage out of his meditation standing up and looking towards the padawan Jaleer smiled having matured enough so that him being shirtless didn't bothered him when in the past he would have ran to his robes to hide himself. Clara would see that the young Jedi had burn marks on his chest, and several scars on his stomach which he had given himself in the past to teach other padawans the healing arts but Jaleer was hoping to avoid adding onto his growing lists of scars. Though Jaleer wasn't very muscular what muscles he did have were lean and defined which was surprising considering his age.

"Hello Clara Firestorm, I am honored to meet another padawan interested in learning the healing arts. It has been a little while since someone has asked me to teach them." Jaleer said with a calm and relax tone the young sage was a easy going person and it showed in his stance.

Returning the bow the young man knew that it would be best to get to know why Clara wanted to learn the healing arts first than begin the training.

"So Clara tell me why do you want to learn the healing arts?" Jaleer asked hoping it wasn't a personal reason that Clara might not want to talk about.

"To learn the basics, mostly." Clara replied as she slipped out of her robe, now wearing just a her Jedi tunic.

She laid the robe across the back of a nearby chair and took a seat across from Jaleer, crossing her legs as she sat and regarding him with the dignity of a teacher. He may not be either a Knight or a Master, but the Padawan had obviously offered to train her in a way of the Force in which she was ignorant. That alone was deserving of respect in her book. Taking a deep breath, Clara centered herself within the Force before leveling her gaze with that of Jaleer's and addressing him once again.

"Healing has many uses, especially in war. If I can save a comrade from dying or sustaining worse injuries, then I will at least have done my part as a Jedi."

Jaleer listened to Clara as she spoke and appreciated the respect she gave him the young man wasn't used to being treated with such respect though that wasn't necessarily true but it wasn't as apparent as what Clara was giving him. The sage opened up his senses to feel Clara though the force, an closing his eyes the sage began to used force sight to see everything around him a technique he learned from a blind padawan a little while ago.

"That is true those that can heal will be needed for this war, since this will be a all or nothing situation if we do not win this time we will most likely be destroyed and the hope of this galaxy will be gone." Jaleer said his opinion if Clara agreed or not does not matter to the sage.

"Now if you could meditate, an build up the force within you we will begin soon and I wouldn't want you to be depleted of energy half way though the training." Jaleer said thinking about either he should check the healing room to see if anyone needed healing or to just take the quick way and just injure himself for Clara to heal.

Clara nodded as her fellow Padawan gave his first directive.

From her position, sitting on the floor cross-legged, Clara drew on the basic teachings that the Jedi on the academy ship had taught her. She allowed herself to become silent and still. Slowly, she began to tune out the life and noise around her --- from the noise of chatter in the halls outside the room, to Jaleer's own light breathing, to even the noise of her own thoughts. She did this until she could feel nothing but the ship's subtle vibrations, caused by the engines which kept it adrift. Clara then extended her awareness outward until she felt another familiar sensation. Another noise. This one loud enough to blanket the galaxy.

The comforting thrum that was the Force.

She allowed the energy from the Force to fill her up and then overflow. Soon, she could no longer just feel the ship around her. She was the ship around her. The subtle scuffs along the durasteel floors, the idle humming of the nearby electronic instruments, even the maintenance droids which hurriedly clicked their ways down the hall. She felt them all as mere extensions of herself. Through the Force, though her eyes were closed, she could see the contours of the room she was in: even the waiting figure of Jaleer Reukli. And so, centered in the Force as he had instructed, she waited for his next instruction.

Jaleer saw Clara though the force and was impressed with what he saw the padawan had a good connection with the force and the sage knew that his teaching will be useful to her. Deciding he should explain to her how the technique works before having her actually do it, remembering the first time he taught someone and how bad that went, the sage still felt bad for Aeryun and doing that to her when she wasn't ready yet.

"Alright now listen the way we Jedi heal with the force is though the lightside which I am sure you already know, but it is not like magic we do not repair what normally cant be repaired which is why we cant just help someone regrow limbs. All we do is strengthen their natural healing process making sure we don't make it to much stronger or the person's body would just attack itself, we let the force flow into their body. Remember we are the catalyst for the force we only direct and strengthen it as it does the work, for broken bones the force will move it back into place and the force will repair the damage though the bodies natural healing process." Jaleer explained hoping not to confuse the padawan taking a deep breath so he could continue his explanation.

"Additionally it will help sometimes to picture the body being repaired it will help you focus on directing the force. It took me most of my live to learn this technique so do not worry about how long it takes you to figure out how to use the technique, it will come to you with time. Now if you have any questions please ask them now since during the middle of a healing session would be too late for any questions, an do not worry about how silly you think they sound every question is a good question." Jaleer said waiting to heal what Clara had to say.

Every question is a good question...

Clara forced herself not to smirk at that. Jaleer would make a good Jedi Instructor one day with language like that. She turned her mind towards the task at hand, questioning what she had just been told. The Padawan supposed Jaleer made sense enough. Rather than the Force itself healing the injured, it simply sped up the natural healing process of the patient's body. In many ways, then, the Jedi would will the body to heal itself at an accelerated rate rather than act as the doctor, so to speak. She nodded her head with this thought. Yes, that only made sense.

That's when a single question floated to the front of her mind.

Though she was still young, she had some knowledge of biology --- human biology at least. The Jedi Instructors who had taught her in her youth hadn't just spoke of the Force and the Jedi Code. Jedi Initiates were taught the basics of science and any other subject that normal beings learned in their school days.

"I wonder," she said. "Does healing in this way shorten the patient's lifespan? Healing often requires the creation of new cells. The body has a lifelong limit on the amount of cells it can create. Could that, then, mean that healing with the Force could be dangerous? That brings me back to my first question: Can it shorten the patient's lifespan?"

Jaleer smirked at Clara's answer realizing that she might be a good Jedi one day if she thought like that, but the answer was a bit tricky so the sage took a moment to ponder it, after a little bit the young man with his eyes still closed gave the padawan a answer.

"The force can extends one lifespan far beyond that of the norm, but if it was the darkside than yes it would take away the person's lifespan as that is what happens with exposed to the darkside. Though I have not done research on this I do not believe when healing with the lightside you will shorten the persons lifespan since though the lightside a person can live longer and be healthier for long." Jaleer knew the question would require a lot of study but for now the padawan though it was time to begin the training.

"So any other questions or are you ready to begin?" Jaleer asked

I'll have to research that further, she thought to herself.

She supposed it made sense, to a point, that the light side of the Force could preserve life without endangering it. For now, though, Clara allowed her mind rest. She was prepared to learn whatever Jaleer had to teach her. The concept of healing itself didn't seem all that complex. She was sure the only way to truly find out was to get some practice and first-hand experience.

"I am ready." she nodded. "Teach me of what you know."

Jaleer nodded glad to see that Clara was ready opening his eyes the sage used the force to grab the small ceremonial knife on the table and once it was in his hand the sage stared into Clara's eyes showing that he was calm and relaxed.

"Listen do not worry I know what I am doing." The only thing that worried Jaleer was if Clara spoke to the council about what he was about to do.

The sage sat crossed legged an after taking a deep breath and moving his internal organs so it went into his chest safe from the knife. Quickly the sage stabbed himself not too deeply to make it a serious issue but enough to cause serious bleeding but the young Jedi was well trained enough not to freak out or let the pain control him. Taking several deep breaths the sage removed the knife from his stomach, already beginning to sweat the sage looked at Clara's eye.

"Your training starts now." Jaleer said waiting to see how the new padawan handled the situation.

Clara's eyes snapped open.

Was this Padawan mad?! The Force began to sound the alarm almost immediately. The wound seemed shallow, but there was a lot of blood. Blood loss could cause death rather quickly. She stood from her meditative pose and broke out into a sprint, crossing the room with record-setting speeds and then slammed down onto her knees before the bleeding Padawan. From there, she could more easily see the damage. It made her stomach twist. She was not trained for such a dangerous situation. How could he think this was a good idea?!

"You're nuts!" she barked as, once more, she opened herself to the Force.

All at once, she felt the full weight of her limited connection to the Force. She had only used the Force for meditation and to move small objects with her mind. Never had she undertaken such a task as this. Still, Jaleer's words from earlier were replaying in the back of her head and she immediately stepped up to implement them. With her mind, she commanded the Force to enter the Padawan's wound. The Force responded, albeit weakly, and from there she willed the wound to begin to heal itself. Moments passed and yet, still, Jaleer's body wasn't responding to her use of the Force.

"You're going to have to walk me through this." Clara said gravely. "It isn't working and you cannot lose anymore blood. What am I doing wrong?"

Jaleer nodded glad to see that Clara was taking this seriously and more calmly than the first padawan he did this too, oh poor Aeryun the girl probably still freaked out it, though that time it was alright an nothing bad happened so the sage figured his luck wasn't about to run out now. Sensing that Clara was trying to heal his wound but if her mind was not centered than it won't work, of course the sage realized he forgot to mention this but just shrugging it off since in all honesty this was nothing to the young man.

"Alright first of all relax, you need to be centered for your force to be at its strongest we are Jedi being at peace and calm is when we are at our strongest. Now remember put both your hands over the wound, now let the force flow through you do not worry about how long you take it wouldn't be the first time I have been though something like this, how do you think I got these other scars." Jaleer said in a joking manner though he was serious the other 3 or more scars in his stomach was all because he did this to almost every other padawan he taught the healing arts too.

"Now once you feel you have enough force just gently let the force flow though you to me do not try to control it let it guide you the lightside is your ally and guides all jedi an as its humble tools we most do what the lightside ask of us. But back to the healing arts like I said let it flow though you to me, try to picture the wound closing, an I have heard mentally picturing what is happening in the cellular level helps. Finally just remember to relax I have done this many times if I feel I am in danger I can heal himself, but in such a case I will most likely just heal myself to a extend in such a case just extend your senses to feel what I am doing it should help. Do not worry I am not in any danger as Jedi we can push our body far beyond the normal limit like I have said before this is nothing." Jaleer said hoping to get Clara to be relax and calm but the sage was knew how difficult it actually was yet he was not worried he had faith in his fellow Jedi the sage knew he was not in any danger.

There is no emotion, there is peace...

Clara bit down on her frustration at Jaleer's recklessness. She needed to focus if she was to do this. Taking a deep breath, Clara allowed the Force to free her from her distracting thoughts and center her once again on the process at hand. With clarity, she found it easier to guide the Force to the wound. Almost like an echo, the Force which resided within Jaleer responded as well. The result was almost instantaneous and amazed Clara. The cells in Jaleer's body began to rapidly accelerate in their routine divisions, clotting was speeding up, and already she was noticing the bleeding was becoming less and less severe.

Her command of the technique was.... rudimentary at best. At times, she felt her control slipping and had to recenter herself in the Force, but eventually the bleeding in Jaleer's abdomen had finally subsided. The internal damage was another matter entirely. While not particularly threatening to Jaleer's safety, Clara knew she couldn't leave it that way. Closing her eyes, she envisioned the results she wanted and allowed the Force to fill in the gaps. By the time she was done, her brow was damp with sweat and her breathing had accelerated from the mental stress caused by the exercise.

Breathing a sigh of relief, she wiped the sweat from her brow and glanced upwards towards Jaleer. Her look was grave, but not harsh.

"That was dangerous, you know? Even the Masters wouldn't try something so extreme to teach a technique. Why did you?"

Jaleer wanted to laugh at how much Clara seemed to get worried over him, the sage understood what he did was more extreme than anything other Jedi would do but in the end it was great practice an the person took with them how it actually feels when your healing a friend that is wounded. This was the best way to train someone that planned to use this technique in battle because now they see how bad it could be, and actually feel worried like in a real situation. An it seemed Clara had gotten the technique down smiling at her as she finished the healing the sage Jaleer felt bad for Clara sure but he had a smirk on that seemed to show that he was enjoying seeing Clara get worried.

"Oh I know, the first time I did this the girl wasn't actually able to heal me she needed me to do it myself since she was just too worried about it. But eventually she learned it and everything ended happily ever after. But for the reason it is quiet simple, don't you agree this was probably the closest thing to a real live situation that you could possible get without actually going in the middle of a fight an someone getting injured. An since I know how to heal myself if you couldn't do it I was in no danger, if it was just a random person and you make a mistake with this technique the person could die an I don't want to run that risk on anyone but myself." Jaleer said getting up using force valor to help him since at the moment his stomach still hurt and the sage felt quiet weak.

"Now why don't we go to the infirmary, if anyone needs healing there you now know how to do it I don't have to worry too much." Jaleer said extending his hand to the other Jedi to help her up though the sage was using a lot of his energy just to keep himself up the young man was a gentleman.

Clara sighed.

Jaleer had good intentions. He had simply wanted her to test the technique in a safe yet practical environment. Still, there was a part of her that strongly disagreed with his methods. She wondered to herself how he had been taught to preform the same technique. Surely his teacher had not been so reckless. She took a moment to regain her composure, then nodded at him. The infirmary would be a good place to hone her skills in a more relaxed environment.

Well, she thought. More relaxed than that just was.

Rising to her feet, Clara strode across the room and retrieved her robe from where she had draped it and swung it over herself. She then motioned towards the door.

"Lead the way."

Though Jaleer knew many disagreed with his methods the sage wasn't really going to change it since the act as almost become tradition for him having done it for everyone that he taught the healing arts too. Though he knew his mother the one that taught him would completely disagree with him the sage was thankful she didn't teach him the way he teaches others, an once he saw that Clara was ready the sage stretched out a little bit using the force to null what little pain their was and smiling at Clara lead the way to the infirmary.

"I do apologize for the stress that I put you through but that is the reality of healing we most be ready for our patients to be in serious trouble to get real experience." Jaleer said explaining himself a little bit though he doubted he needed to, an would whistle as the two walked until they made it to the Infirmary which seemed to have two injured patients.

Two young padawans one a human female, who looked to have a burn on her right arm but it wasn't serious the other had it worse a male Twi'lek the young boy had a burn mark across his chest that looked really bad, though it sadden Jaleer to see the two in such a state the sage knew this was good for Clara's training. Looking at her the sage pointed to the Twi'lek boy seeing as he was the one that needed the healing the most.

"Go to him an remember what I taught you, an don't worry I will be right next to you if you need any assistance."
Jaleer said waiting for Clara to work on her new healing powers.

Clara nodded and proceeded towards the Twilek.

The young Padawan could feel the boy's pain through the Force. It was the sensation of touching a the edge of a lightsaber, only this feeling was spread out across her chest, where the child's injuries were. Drawing upon her training, Clara took a deep breath, surrendering her earlier frustrations to the Force in order to clear her mind. When she exhaled, she let them go. The Force surged inside of her and then spread out, as she commanded it, towards the boy's body. She could feel the results instantly. The Twilek's body reacted positively to the Force's presence.

"Hang tough," she said softly, soothingly to him. "You're going to be alright."

The process took many minutes, but eventually Clara began to notice the boy's labored breathing even out. The searing pain she had felt in her chest had began to subside. And that is when she grasped another aspect of Force healing: the ability to shield another being from feeling the pain of their wounds. A surge of confidence washed over her and this allowed the Force to more powerfully influence the boy's body. In a matter of ten minutes, the boy was snoozing softly and his body was well on its way to a full recovery.

"Incredible..." Clara whispered to herself.

Jaleer was impressed with Clara sensing everything she did with the force the sage smiled at the now healed Twi'lek, the Jedi was patient and when everything was finished the sage placed a hand on Clara's shoulder giving the young Jedi some energy though Jaleer didn't have that much energy but it should be enough for Clara to finish the lesson. The two would walk over to the young human female an the sage would wait to see Clara heal the young girl.

"Remember dont push yourself if you need my help I can finish the healing." Jaleer said hoping to make sure Clara doesn't drain herself to much.

The human female was different than the Twilek.

It was only then that Clara discovered why Jaleer had her practice on a human and Twilek patient. Their anatomies were different. Their bodies responded differently to different aspects of the Force. And though she was human, Clara had to take a moment to readjust to healing human anatomy. Within minutes the human girl, who was writhing with the pain of her burn marks, began to grow still as comfort flooded her body from the Force. Clara could feel the skin repairing itself, the cells reproducing more rapidly, and the girl's pain levels gradually decrease.

Within another ten minutes, the girl too was healed. She then glanced back at Jaleer, hoping to earn his approval.
