Getting Some Ears

Blaster bolts flew overhead as Freyja skidded into cover behind a boulder. Sand spat up in different directions as she slammed against the rock. A bolt of plasma hit the corner of the boulder fracturing the rock and sending splinters of stone in different directions. A smile went across her lip as she pulled her blaster rifle close to her chest. This was the thrill of battle, something that she had trained for her entire life, that adrenaline rush that cleared the mind, sharpened the eye and steadied the aim. Freyja stepped out of cover for a second, she raised her blaster to her shoulder, two of the criminals were in sight and it was just a matter of pulling the trigger to end their lives.

Freyja was on Ryloth for the growing resistance against the Empire. It was strange to be part of something again, for three years she had been alone, her against the galaxy. And know after only a few short weeks and a couple of conversations with the right people, here she was risking her life for a cause that wasn't money or personal gain. Now she would never deny that her own personal cause to be associated with this resistance was far beyond what many of her colleagues but that was something she held tight to her chest. Even to Scarlett. To everyone around her, she was an ex-imperial disgruntled at their treatment of her and the rest of the galaxy and she wanted to get back at them. The lies she would tell.

The wind caught in her jacket a blaster bolt just skimming her thigh and cutting a hole in the ground behind as she let off her own two shots, downing two of the criminals. The men she mowed down were part of a large local criminal organisation which controlled much of Narcotics, Slavery and Weapons trade on the planet, they had come to the attention of a few people in the Alliance and it was something they wanted to keep an eye on. But Freyja was never a good one for waiting, so she had gone out and found those willing to do something about it.

She slid back behind the boulder another two enemies down, clipping another battery pack into the blaster. The comm-link on her ear was linked to the other four attackers who were spread about around the criminal compound. "Two down on the east side." She said over the comm. "Tycho, Evelyn there is at least a half dozen on the West with you by the main entrance." She popped her head back around quickly to check the other sides, where Valerie and Devrim were coming from. Only a couple each on the perimeter for them, but more were coming from inside the compound and it was only a matter of time before speeders started pouring in from the local town.

Evelyn sat hunkered down behind a rock, currently getting peppered by blaster fire from the criminals. She got on the comms and said, "Yeah, I figured from the six guys all trying to kill the two of us."

She probably shouldn't have been so snarky at her, but where Freyja felt exhilaration Evelyn just felt irritation and just the littlest bit of fear. She never really enjoyed being the one that gets shot at, preferring to be a bit of a ways away from the front and shooting people from there. Was it 'honorable', no. But it kept her alive.

Right now however, her whole body was screaming, What the hell are you doing here? You're getting shot at! You could die!"

Mentally, Evelyn pushed down hard on those fears and took a couple of steadying breaths. Thankfully, she figured it would get hairy and was prepared. For this op, in addition to her blasters and vibroblade, she packed two smoke grenades and two frag grenades. She was starting to get used to having the explosive devices attached to her at this point and didn't feel as nervous about them.

Evelyn popped out of cover and sprayed blaster bolts at the criminals, not hitting any of them but definitely making them think twice about shooting at her and Tycho. Something told her to move, so she leaned to her right, narrowly avoiding a bolt to the face. Feeling the color drain from her face from flirting so intimately with death, Evelyn crouched right back down next to her boulder, letting the rest of the bolts fly overhead.

Tycho was hunkered down behind a rock right next to Evelyn. As he tried to aim his rifle at the criminals he cursed under his breath as he was forced to take cover every single time he tried to get a shot in. These guys really were proving to be a very bothersome bunch. He swore he could hear them laughing over the blaster fire. If he could just get one or two good shots in. Then maybe, maybe they will shut up and realize that their fortunes are about to turn for the worst. But until he can get such a shot in, that message won't be sent to the criminals.

That was not his only problem as it appeared that Evelyn was freaking out a bit until she did eventually pull herself together. As she sprayed a volley of shots at the criminals and they took cover as a result. Tycho took that chance to aim his rifle, firing three consecutive shots at the criminals. One bolt completely missed it's target, the second slammed into one criminal's chest while the final hit another criminal in the head. As the blaster fire picked up again, Tycho took cover behind the rock. Concerned for the woman next to him he looked to her, the criminal turned rebel was naturally concerned about her. Not because she is a woman though, because of how she is reacting to the whole situation, Tycho guessed that this is the first time Evelyn has been in a combat situation, "Hey. Stay calm. If you stay calm you will get out of this alive." He told her trying to figure out what he could say to her, he is not very good at talking to people or giving encouragement, "Stick close to me, do as I say and you will be alright. Ok?" He told her.

Peeking back over the rock at the group of criminals he noted that they were trying to get closer, "Alright. I want you to take one of your grenades and throw it at them. The blast may take out a few or the rest of them or expose them to us for us to pick them off. Can you do that?" He asked Evelyn as he ducked back down, a bolt narrowly missing him.

She peeked around the rock and saw that the shooters were reduced to two now. She went to unclip a frag grenade, but hesitated at the last moment. She then reached for a smoke grenade and said, "No, it's too open. I'm gonna give us a screen."

Evelyn pulled the pin on the smoke grenade, leaving her with only one smoke grenade left, and quickly tossed it over the rock towards the criminals. It landed right in the group of them, spewing out a stream of smoke that surrounded the group. A few bolts from the pirates shot out wildly, not even going near Evelyn and Tycho.

Evelyn got a weird look on her face, an almost determined one as she felt something in her gut tug towards her blaster rifle. Evelyn grabbed the rifle, stood up, and fired two clean shots into the smoke. The first one seemed to just sail into the smoke, but the second one stopped short and was accompanied by a criminal letting out a harsh, "Gurk!"

Her suspicions on the hit were confirmed as one of the pirates said, "Fuck! They shot Marvin in the face!"

Evelyn then crouched back down behind the rock, not quite believing she managed to hit someone in that. She looked up at the man and felt a little bit of cockiness grow in her. "This isn't my first time don't worry."

Yeah, lets play it off like she totally knew what she was doing rather than instinctively firing into the smoke and coincidentally scoring a hit.

Tycho watched as Evelyn instead threw a smoke grenade. Ok yes that will give them some cover, but it will make it difficult for the two rebels to hit their targets. One had to be a force sensitive to hit a target in the smoke. Tycho is in no way force sensitive, so how he will manage to hit one of the two criminals is beyond him.

As the smoke escaped from the grenade the criminals seemed to panic because they fired their weapons wildly, none of them will hit Evelyn or Tycho. Luckily. It would suck if they had to explain why they were injured or one killed due to a tactical mistake. The man stayed behind the rock for a moment until the criminals' blaster fire slowed down. That was when Evelyn stood up and fired a couple of shots into the smoke.

Though he will not admit it, the man was gawking a bit when the female rebel somehow managed to hit one of the targets right in the face. Which was confirmed by the criminals. Snapping himself out of it, the man aimed his weapon at the smoke. He did not know anything about the force but it did not mean that he did not know a trick or two on how to locate a target. Of course it would be great if he was force sensitive and able to locate a target that way. But as he is not, Tycho will have to settle with the old way.

Steadying his breathing the man carefully aimed his rifle at the smoke, listening and watching very closely. The criminals were still yelling so it was not that hard to figure out where they are in the thick soup. But actually hitting his target will be the hard part. Then he squeezed the trigger and two bolts flew into the smoke. One sailed through without hitting anything. But the second hit on target with the sound of someone falling over as he yelled out that his leg was hit, "Got him!" Tycho was disappointed that it was not a kill shot. But he still managed to hit his target, so he was happy either way. Tycho looked at Evelyn and raised an eyebrow in response to her statement, "Sure it is." Was all that he said as he pulled his rifle close to his body as he moved to be behind another rock to see if he can get a better shot at the criminal he had just wounded.

Valerie and Devrim were fairly isolated from the rest of the group when the initial blaster bolts were fired. Thankfully though, they would be faced with less of an opposition than the others. Valerie unholstered one of her twin blasters from her belt and her index finger slid lightly over the trigger, hanging excitedly in anticipation of a command. There were only two targets a few meters beyond the boulder behind which she took cover. Instead of waiting for Devrim to make the first move, Valerie sprung out from behind the boulder and fire three shots in the direction of the pirates. Unbeknownst to her, the sun was directly above the heads of the pirates she was aiming at and when she sought to fire, she was blinded by the light. Her shots went completely astray and the pirates quickly raised their rifles in retaliation. Oh god, she thought to herself in a panic. She threw herself to the ground as the blaster bolts flew narrowly over her head. She managed to squirm back behind her cover just in time.

The two pirates now had her pinned down behind the rock and she knew that if she made any movements beyond the boulder, she wouldn't have any time to react if fired upon. Valerie's heart quickened. Not only was she extraordinarily embarrassed by her blunder but she was starting to panic. It was around about now that she wished she had brought a frag or two along for the mission. Her eyes locked on to Devrim, it seemed that he would be her only hope in getting out of this one unscathed.

Crouching nearby Valerie, Devrim watched the assault from the rebels unfold in front of him. The others in the squad, by the sounds of the blasters and explosions in the background, were already making progress. Double-checking his gear and flicking the safety off his R5R blaster, he communicated to his squad mate, "Go ahead, I've got your back. Let's hit them fast and hard." There were only two thugs that they could see ahead — should be easy enough to take down without complications.

However, even as Valerie jumped out to strike first, the sun blinded her and prevented any of her shots from landing. Now having attracted the undivided attention of the criminals, Valerie was at their mercy unless Devrim did something first to save her. It wouldn't be long before they adjusted their aim and took down his companion — something he wasn't going to allow. From his position in cover and as neither of his targets were aware of Devrim's position, he had the perfect advantage to take them down. Pressing the butt end of his rifle to his shoulder and aiming down sights, the gritty dark-haired rebel squeezed the trigger once per bandit. Both shots were direct hits and they fell to the dusty earth, instantly dead.

"You alright?" he called out to Valerie. Moving out from his position, he slid down to her side to help up his companion. "We're all clear on this side," Devrim communicated to the rest of the rebels. "We'd better get inside and shut this down before we get hordes of reinforcements. What's the game plan?"

Freyja slid down the incline of the rocky hills that made up the edge of the criminal compound. Most of the blaster fire was currently centred on her comrades so she had taken the opportunity to move closer to the base. The criminal compound was in a rough oblong, longer along the East and West faces, where the pair's of rebels attacking. The Northside was more heavily defended so Freyja had taken the South, hoping to split the heavier concentration of troops on the North between the three and subsequently overwhelm them.

Four ships were sat in the middle of the compound, one fighter and three freighters with space for at least another two or three. That meant at least thirteen crew, plus that number again ground crew and guards. However, criminals always liked to group together in numbers so there would be at least double that in the nearby towns on their way shortly. They needed to get in and out as quickly as they can.

Skidding to a stop at the bottom of the incline, she bounced off a boulder taking cover behind its mass. Peering round she spotted some of the crews leave their freighters and race off Westwards in the direction of the explosions. "Evelyn, Tycho, more incoming at least another eight from the freighters, I can't see the barracks from here so there could be more." As she spoke she heard the hum of engines come to life. "Valerie, that's the fighter taking off, we either need it taken out or taken over. You got this?"

Another quick look, seeing no guards in her immediate area Freyja pushed off the boulder and moved into the fringes of the compound. "Devrim, we need those freighters cleared and taken out bar the last one. That's our ride out of here." She called over the radio as she rounded the corner of one of the great tents littering the compound.

Evelyn heard the report about the other eight, and figured they didn't want to get pinned out in the open by eight more pirates. She took a deep breath and quickly popped out of cover and fired a shot at the pirate. This one hit him in the chest, making him fall to a crouch. Evelyn ran forward to make it to the compound before the others came firing from the direction of the freighter, and pumped two more shots into the man, downing him.

A second later she saw the group of eight rushing towards them, blasters firing. Evelyn unclipped a frag grenade from her bandolier, leaving her with one smoke and one frag, and tossed it at the group of eight. It was a resounding success, scattering the group and killing two of them immediately.

She grinned at the result of her throw but crouched down behind a bit of rubble that made for some effective cover. Evelyn was breathing heavily, but could feel the adrenaline pumping through her now. She felt hyperaware of the battlefield, almost knowing where everyone was at any moment. She didn't really, but she could tell when someone had her in their sights, or when a stray bolt was going to get close. She always enjoyed when the battle went this way, this feeling of almost total omniscience.

Tycho sighed a bit as he watched Evelyn take his kill. That was his kill for crying out loud. All well. There are more coming by the sounds of it from what Freyja said so there are more chances to score some good hits. Besides wasn't he having a competition of sorts with someone? He couldn't remember right now. The man quickly moved from the cover of one rock to another as he moved towards the compound, dodging blaster fire as he went. Hearing an explosion the man peeked out to see that a grenade was thrown by Evelyn, and that the blast sent their targets scattering about as they tried to escape the explosion. Unfortunately for two of them, they were caught up and torn apart by the explosion. Bad luck for them, good luck for the rebels since that is two down now. Only six more to go for Tycho and Evelyn to take out. That should not be so hard right?

Usually Tycho is a bit more serious in a combat situation, yes he is being serious, but for once the man was trying to have some sort of fun. All while keeping his head in the game so that his head isn't taken off. The criminal saw one target raising his weapon to shoot his comrade and quickly raised his squeezing off two shots that hit their target. Watching the enemy crumble to the ground, Tycho ducked behind another rock that was fairly close to the compound. The only problem was that the rest of the distance was very open, so he will have to run fast if he was not to get shot while crossing it.

Peeking out from behind the rock he quickly ducked out of the way when a blaster bolt went flying past him, managing to take a few strands of hair but nothing more. That was a close one. Peeking back out again he saw that the enemy are reloading their weapons. The man could see them, but he will not be able to get a good shot in. So instead of trying to hit one of them and waste a bolt or two, Tycho used that chance to dash across to the safety of the compound. One of the boulders sitting outside of it that is. Now in the relative shelter of the boulder, he quickly reloaded his rifle. Then he aimed his rifle and squeezed off two quick shots after sighting a target he can actually get. Both bolts hit their mark. But as soon as the body fell to the ground, bolts from the enemy came raining down on him and Evelyn again. Well this sure is turning out to be something to tell his buddies about later if he survives.

Valerie was really beginning to freak out at the situation before Devrim came to her rescue and took out the two pirates that had pinned her down. She breathed a sigh of relief, "Yeah I'm fine." She called out in reply to his question. Immediately after which she heard the loud sound of a freighter engine springing to life. Valerie listened to Freyja's instructions before nodded silently to herself, she pressed her finger to her ear and spoke, "I'm on it." She vaulted over the blaster mark strewn rock that she previously has used for cover and made a beeline for the freighter. The landing ramp had slowly begun to raise and right before it closed off completely, Valerie leaped, grabbed the ramp and managed to pull herself into the shuttle.

After a heavy bout of breathlessness, Valerie sprung to her feet and quietly approached the cockpit of the freighter. She drew the wrench from her belt and grasped it firmly in her right hand as she approached the pilot of the freighter. The pilot was too busy prepping for takeoff to notice her however as she lifted her arm to hit him over the head, the wrench clashed loudly against the rood of the cockpit causing the pilot to spin around and dodge the swing. He deftly drew a knife and returned with a swipe of his own. Valerie stepped back quickly yet the knife still caught the side of her stomach area resulting in a shallow cut. A sharp pain shot through her and she could feel a small amount of blood seeping from the wound.

In one swift motion, Valerie feinted a swing with her right arm and with her left arm she drew her blaster and placed a well aimed shot in the man's chest. His hand grabbed at his wounded chest frantically before he fell lifeless atop the freighters controls. Valerie managed to pry him out from his seat and dragged him to the cargo hold. She fell back into the pilot's chair and gripped her side. She ripped off a piece of her shirt and tied it around her stomach to prevent any further bleeding. She activated the voice coms and spoke softly, her breathing was heavy between words.
"I've... secured the... freighter."

Listening to the response and direction from Freyja Storm, Devrim nodded and pressed the communicator to his mouth as he replied. "We'll make sure they don't get out of here." As Valerie broke out into a mad sprint to the first freighter taking off, Devrim followed but slowed himself to observe the make and model of the ship. It was clearly an Overhead-class, quite a simple freighter but still armed with the one thing Devrim was looking for — a turret. He knew he didn't have the firepower on him to take out the other two freighters, but if they managed to get a hold of this one then it shouldn't be a problem. I wish I had a PIPE for this, he thought, jumping and rolling into the loading ramp with Valerie before it closed. Seeing her make a beeline for the cockpit, Devrim quietly informed, "I'll grab the guns."

Finding the ladder that lead up to the dorsal-mounted dual laser turret, Devrim quickly ascended the metal rungs until he found himself in the rotating seat of the turret. Flicking the switches to activate the weapon systems, they blinked to life and he gripped the gun controls. A smile spread across his face as he twisted them sideways, turning the dual laser barrels toward the other two freighters still parked beside the one they occupied. He firmly pressed the trigger.

A barrage of blaster fire rained down upon the side of the freighter closest to him. After several rounds pounding into its side, an explosion burst through its hull and black smoke rolled upward. Continuing to hold his fire, Devrim moved his target to the next one which was destroyed just as fast. Laying off the shooting, the rebel remained in his seat with a huge expression of content on his face. He loved blowing things up. "One secured and the other two non-functioning," he reported to the others. So far, today had been a good day.

As Tycho shot own one of the enemy, bringing their count down to five, the rest of the group turned their attention on Tycho to take down the one who shot one of their own. Seeing an opportunity, Evelyn took a risk and started to cross the open area to try and move around to flank the enemy. Were she to succeed, she'd have clear shots on most of them.

Sadly however, she did not. Evelyn was seen right in the middle of her attempted maneuver and two of the pirates shifted their aim to her. Evelyn attempted to turn around and quickly run back to safety behind a rock. Yet she was already too far out of cover, and just the lightest bit too slow.

As she was running back, Evelyn took a blaster bolt right in her left shoulder blade. The impact sent her to the ground, dazed a little bit at the fact that she just got shot. Before the two could finish her however, she rolled the rest of the way, rounding the corner and being safe behind the rock.

Evelyn leaned herself up against the rock, grunting from the pain. Her armor had absorbed most of the energy from the shot, leaving a scorch mark, but underneath the armor her shoulder blade was sore, probably bruised, and it felt like she had a sun burn on her back. Evelyn got on the comm and said, "Evelyn here. I'm hit, although still good for the fight."

Freyja slipped through the back of the compound as the battle raged around them. She reached one of the edges of the inner tents, her rifle raised up just in case someone came through the door, she reached the flap with no movement. Taking a quick moment to catch her breath, she plunged into the darkness of the tent. It took a moment for her eyes to adjust, lucky for her the only occupant inside the tent was busy typing away at a console to notice her enter. She smiled to herself, letting go of the rifle to allow it to hang from her chest she snuck up behind the guard. Grabbing him around the neck, she pulled sharply to the side ending his life quickly and quietly. Freyja stepped back to allow his body to fall to the ground, looking back up at the terminal she found what she was after.

The console had the details for the Space Platform the group was after. Shoving a holo-disc into the open slot she began to download the details of the platform, as well as the ID codes for the gang's ships to allow them access. As the information was downloading she heard the engines of the fighter begin to rise. Running to the front flap of the tent she threw it open to see the fighter begin to take off from the landing pad. To her right, she saw the running freighter with what looked like Valerie and Devrim. Reaching up to her ear she shouted down the comm. "Valerie, I said the Fighter, not the Freighter." As she finished her sentence the fighter itself took off. "You to need to deal with that before he comes back around." She said slightly irritated before returning back into the tent. She pulled out the holo-disc, as Evelyn came over the radio. "Evelyn, I'm coming to you. Tycho, keep her alive for me." She said as she ran out of the tent her rifle raised.

Tycho was forced to take cover behind the rock he was next to when the enemy started focusing on him after he took out one of them with that well aimed shot. The man got back behind the safety of the rock thankfully without any injuries, but he could not say the same for Evelyn when the woman was spotted while trying to flank them. Two of the men opened fire on her, resulting in Evelyn taking a blow to the back of her shoulders as she tried to get back to the rock she was using for cover.

Raising his rifle he shot one of the two men that opened up on the woman, hitting the target in the head. As the enemy seemed to be scrambling to get reorganized, Tycho moved over to Evelyn just as he heard Freyja's voice come through his comm. Bringing the gadget to his lips, "I'm on it." He replied then pocketed his Comm, looking to Evelyn, "Stay down, you took a bad hit and need that looked at.. Here." He said handing Evelyn his water canteen, "You look like you need it. It's just water." He told her as the man picked his rifle back up and started firing at what was left of the enemy. After taking out another of the enemy he ducked back down as the remaining three started pouring bolts. The rock that the pair is hiding behind will be able to withstand that barrage of bolts.

Valerie felt exceedingly embarrassed when she realised that she had misheard Freyja over the voice coms. She could have sworn she heard the word freighter not fighter. She looked out the viewport to see her actual target take off and prepare for a strafing run. It wouldn't take long for the fighter to turn and attack. Luckily Devrim had accompanied her on to the freighter and operated the turret to neutralise the other transports. It's fine, she thought to herself calmly, improvise, adapt and overcome. Valerie's hands flew over the freighter controls and within moments the freighters engines sprang to life again. All she had to do was get that fighter out of the sky before it came back around, hardly the hardest thing she had been tasked with.

Vee held her hand to her ear and spoke,
"Devrim, I'm going to need you to help me out with this one... And hold tight" The freighter abruptly lifted into the air, and while only hovering a few meters in the air the ship tilted and accelerated rapidly upwards. Valerie felt herself being pushed back into her seat uncomfortably at the forced acceleration but it was necessary for them to reach the fighter in time. Her one hand clutched the manual control wheel and the other continued to ensure that the systems were in working order by flicking a series of levers and pressing a multitude of buttons.

Due to Vee's... Unorthodox flying methods, it not take long for the freighter to near the target. The fighter had only just begun to come about and the two vessels were headed straight for a collision course. The young pilot was unphased by this,
"Take it out!"

Once more, Devrim's comms crackled to life with the sound of their fearless leader of the hit. It was an honest mistake that Valerie made — Devrim though he'd heard freighter too instead of fighter. Despite this, however, it seemed that they were in a much better position to destroy the starfighter that had now taken flight above the camp. Especially since it hadn't simply tried to escape, but instead turned around to make a strafing run on the attacking team of rebels. Gripping the controls with renewed vigour, Devrim acknowledged the message that Valerie relayed to him from the cockpit.

"I'm right on it," he replied with a smile that was audible through the comms. "Bring them to me." With the whole freighter jolting as it lifted off, the dark-haired rebel pulled on his harness as Valerie tilted the vessel upwards and accelerated. Either Devrim's companion at the controls in front was just improvising...or a brilliant ace pilot. Regardless of whichever the case was, the attacking starfighter came into view as it advanced on them and held steady at attack velocity. "I see them — they're coming in fast!" Devrim reported, bringing the enemy into his sights.

He pressed the trigger on the light cannons, unleashing a hail of blaster fire. However, it seemed this starfighter actually knew how to fly — it evaded the oncoming shots, returning fire of its own that struck the freighter. The rebel's ship groaned under the impact, but remained intact for the time being as the starfighter roared past them. Turning the turret to face the fleeing opponent, Devrim's second round of fire went wide as well.

"C'mon," the rebel growled as he saw the starfighter making a wide turn far out of his range and preparing to make another strafing run on the freighter. But this time, Devrim was ready as his targeting system beeped reassuringly. Ramming down the controls one last time, the ensuing burst of plasma raked along the defenseless fighter, causing catastrophic damage and sending it careening into the rocks far from the encampment. Devrim shouted victoriously into the comms, "Target down!"

Evelyn nodded in thanks, and took a sip from the canteen as the blaster bolts impacted the rock behind her. She flinched and twitched a little bit as the rocks withstood the impact, but it seemed to hold. She sighed in content as she finished drinking the water, capped it back up, and set it on the ground next to her.

She grabbed her rifle, took a few deep breaths, and then aimed around the corner of the rock she was taking cover behind. She exhaled, took a few moments to sight one of the enemy that was shooting at Tycho, and then squeezed the trigger. A split second later, the shooters head snapped back, a burning hole where his face used to be.

The last two shooters ducked back down behind the rock as their ally went down and Evelyn grinned. She moved back behind cover, grunting in pain as she did so. "Don't worry." She said to Tycho as she leaned against the rock, careful to not let her wounded shoulder not press up against it, "I can still shoot. It just hurts a little. I'll be alright, press the advantage. I'll wait for Freyja to attend to me."

Tycho watched as Evelyn opening disobeyed Freyja's instructions and fired off her rifle. Good thing the woman was not here to witness this or she will be ripping off the man's head right about now. Well at least Evelyn took a drink of the water as he told her while offering his canteen. The criminal watched his comrade duck back down behind the rock after taking out two of the enemy, leaving only two left, "Well there are only two left. I will deal with them. You stay here. And please listen this time. I don't want to see you getting killed." He told the woman.

Hearing the sound of running footsteps, he turned to look to only be met with a blade swinging at him. Ducking out of the way, Tycho jammed his rifle into the attacker's stomach and squeezed off two shots. The attacker's body immediately crumbled to the ground. He peeked back around to find another attacking with a bladed weapon as well. They really must be suicidal or desperate to take the two rebels out. Aiming his rifle the man squeezed off one shot that nailed the second and final attacker in the face.

Taking a deep breath as he calmed himself, Tycho grabbed the body of the attacker that got the closest to ending one of their lives and moved the body away from the two Rebels. When he was done, the man sat down next to Evelyn with a sigh, "Well that was a close one." He said quietly. Picking up the canteen he took a small gulp of the water, then offered the rest to his partner, "I don't need the rest. You have it." He told her as the man placed the canteen in her hand. Picking up his rifle, Tycho is ready for another possible wave of attackers. If there are more that is.

Freyja was moving through the compound, blaster fire was getting quieter and quieter with each passing moment. They had won, that was for sure, but for how long, that was the issue. The signal will be out for those loyal to the gang in the surrounding towns and villages to assemble, it was only a matter of time before they were the ones trapped in the compond getting shot at from all sides. The thought added a little pace into her run. She kept her rifle up against her shoulder, checking each corner as she moved making sure to not be caught unaware.

As she made the final turn around a large tent to the edge of the battlefield with Evelyn and Tycho, a loud explosion was heard overhead as the other two finally took out the fighter. 'Better late than never.' Freyja mumbled, after the loud explosion, everything was silent, Freyja didn't notice it at first but the sound of blaster fire had stopped. A moment of fear jolted through her at the thought that Evelyn and Tycho were dead, but as she moved out of the edge of the compound she only saw the bodies of dead thieves and murders, not her colleagues. She was still on edge thought and with her rifle still raised she made her way around the edge of the battlefield.

She found the pair next to a rock on the outer edge, Tycho was on guard as Evelyn sat up against the rock. "How's the wound?" She asked as she kept an eye on the surrounding horizon. Dust to the east was rising, their time running out. Tapping her ear she brought up the comm. "Valerie. Get back down here, we need to get out as soon as. We have got more incoming." She lent down giving Evelyn an arm to help her up before moving back to the smoking landing pads in the center, waiting for the pick up.
