Biography: Ginsara Tulsla was born into the royal family of Maris. Living in the castle to the north of Kizak, she lived better than most of the people on the planet. She had her own tutor and was cared for by her mother’s personal slave. The luxury of never having to work was lost on her. Work was a foreign word.

Her father ruled Maris with an iron hand and with that iron hand more wars were fought and more people died than ever before in the history of the planet. As more warriors fell and more people starved, more and more turned to crime. And the vicious cycle began as more slaves than ever before were made or banished. The young Ginsara clung to her mother and wept.

Early on in the resulting era of darkness Ginsara decided she would one day rule Maris and repair the damage her father had done.

Many people were starving as the hunting villages focused more on war with each other than actually hunting. Ginsara’s father did nothing to stop them. Ginsara, at the tender age of eleven, set out to fix things. Gathering what she could take with her she set out for the largest village and pleaded with the leaders to back out in the hope that the war would end. She made the best argument she could with the determination of a child. She returned home to find her mother distraught with worry and explained what she had done. Her mother shook her head sadly then but when the war between the villages stopped a month later and food lines started again she shook her head in disbelief.

After that incident the kingdom slowly began healing. While the war had stopped, battles still broke out occasionally, and the population in the villages had dropped drastically. The population of Kizak had dropped too, due to the lack of their major food.

As the kingdom repaired itself after the wars and shortages another disaster hit, this time one that Ginsara could not fix in her innocent diplomacy. A drought hit the land, the first one in many centuries. The unprepared farmers came out one day to find crops withered. Those with orchards found their trees bore no fruit. The hunters could not find animals as water sources dried up. Fisherman had no lakes or rivers to fish in. The general population had nothing to drink or eat after their stores ran out. During this time, which lasted three years Ginsara began her list. This list entailed what measures Ginsara would take when she took the throne. She continued growing this list until her coronation day when she put her plans in motion.

After the drought ended it still took many months for things to regain normalcy. More of the Marisans had died, shrinking their numbers. Riots broke out as people raged against their king. Ginsara and her ailing mother were not allowed to leave the palace. The riots stopped when something else caught their attention, but what this was Ginsara never discovered as, by the time she was allowed out, people had stopped talking of the occurrence.

On her thirtieth birthday, coronation delayed by her mother’s passing and then her father’s death several years after, Ginsara ascended Maris’ throne and took her place as the new monarch of the Marisan people.
