[Tomic Domin]

Spoiler: Objective

Tomic and his allies are contracted to protect the contact's large freighter as it has a habit of being boarded by pirates. Just so happens it's boarded by pirates! They need to fight them off to secure the freighter. Tomic Domin + Jayscreec Alecwit + Irolia Shen

Space was boring.

There was nothing more that could really be said - it just was.

Tomic sighed a little bit as he poked at the glass of blue milk on the holo-table he was sat at in the crew quarters. He and his allies had been hired as muscle for the protection of this shipment and he was bored already.

Bored enough that he was actively wishing someone would show up and try and hijack the god-damned freighter just so he would have something to do. To suit the smaller confines of the ship, he was equipped with his Gladius blaster rifle today and he was itching to use it on something.

When the sound of alarms cut through the air and the PA announced that they were being boarded by pirates he immediately jumped to his feet.

"FINALLY!"

He paused, glancing at his allies slightly sheepishly.

"... I was bored."

Jayscreec silently muttered to himself before he reached up to put on his duraplast helmet. It was a good opportunity to record the whole aggression. Jay had the idea of selling the cut footage since it is great propaganda. Do you want to give out your aggression? Join us. Do you want to be among cool army guys? Sith army. Do you want to oppose us? You're dead. The message is simple. Everyone understands it.

"I am going to flank them, keep me updated!" - And in the momentum Jay went for it. The countless hours spent training slowly came back. He took cover by the last entrance with his Gladius blaster rifle high ready.

[Irolia Shen]

Unlike Tomic, Irolia actually liked waiting, it meant she could read some of her stored books on her little companion droid, Parrot. The blue sith had mostly ignored the two other most of the journey and used the time to read one of her books she liked. With Parrot placing on the table, it used its projector to show a hologram of the book. When Tomic cried out happy when the alarm sounded, Irolia just rolled her eyes. "Hmph... I was almost done with my book..." complained the blue-skinned sith, being annoyed by the pirates. Never-the-less, she got up and left for the exit in the crew quarters. As she walked nonchalant to the exit, a rather over overexcited Jayscreec ran past her.

Well Jayscreec ran off on his own which was... well he was a big boy, Tomic was sure the man could handle himself. He readied his blaster rifle and nodded to Irolia as he held it up, sighing down it for a moment. Finally happy that his weapon was ready, he walked beside Irolia out of the crew quarters and towards the hanger where the enemy had breached.

"I'll run mid-to-long range interference." he told her with a nod, "You attack close-to-mid range with your blade and your magics alright?"

Standard process when supporting Sith was to support any and all efforts they made to close the distance between themselves and the enemy. This would mean that they could more easily use their lightsaber as effectively as possible - a blade that basically ignored most forms of armour was not to be squandered after all!

The door to the hanger opened and Tomic rushed through it, grabbing some cover behind some of the cargo containers. He spotted the enemies as they spread out from their entry vehicle.

Twenty in total.

Nodding to Irolia, Tomic crouched and spun out of cover with his blaster rifle up. Pulling the trigger four times, he blasted two of the pirates twice in the upper chest each before spinning back into cover as the enemy focused their fire on him.

The signal was a short and clear transmission. The secondary hangar entrance opened a couple inches, just enough for Jay to immediately throw a fragmentation grenade among the infiltrators. The timer was set to four seconds. Anyone who's been in combat knows that is a lot of time. But who would notice it under fire with a Sith running towards them? One of the pirates saw from the corner of his eye saw the agent switching to his long rifle as he entered the hangar. But it was too late to yell what he spotted.

Jayscreec gave them hell.

A couple pirates took deadly injuries, but those who wore armor were just forced off their feet. Jay fast-walked towards the nearest cover position while he provided covering fire alone to keep the enemy busy.

Now the element of surprise vanished. The supply boxes around him took a couple hits from the pirates. While preparing his next move he started negotiations.

"Give up! You are completely surrounded! Drop your weapons or die!"

Flanking the enemy

Walking with Tomic out of the crew quarter they saw Jayscreec head for the last entrance. Removing her hilt from its resting place at her belt, Irolia nodded to Tomic's suggestion as confirmation. While Tomic took a well-placed cover, Irolia walked past him towards the appearing pirates. The feared 'pssshhew' sound of a lightsaber filled the area for a few seconds. Smiling, Irolia advanced. Unfortunate, she didn't get very far and had to jump for cover. A firestorm of blaster fire from two pirates, both carrying heavy blaster rifles. They were most likely stolen, as they looked pretty similar to something the Imperial military would use. "You got to be kidding me, they came prepared!" Yelled Irolia annoyed to be kept behind cover. There was no way she could deflect that much blaster fire. Well not yet at least!

Irolia turned off her lightsaber, attached it to her belt and pulled one of her blasters as she moved from cover to cover. She didn't get to move very fast around, as the two pirates made it rather difficult to move quickly. Another trouble was the fact that it wasn't just two pirates, where they were, but quite a few of them.

Tomic cursed as Irolia was forced into cover, unable to get among the enemy with her lightsaber and get down to business cutting them up. It wasn't great because it meant that she was pinned down, unable to add her own fire to the enemy while she was pinned down. Tomic himself was not able to fire since they knew where he was and were peppering his cover with fire even now.

If he leaned out to fire he would probably take a shot to the gut for his trouble.

Which meant he needed to disrupt their attention and fire-rate. He touched his comlink, speaking to both Irolia and Jay at once.

"Concussion grenade going out - watch your eyes!"

Taking out a concussion grenade, he primed it before tossing it backwards over the cover he was behind. He couldn't stand for a stronger throw after all - he'd get shot. Instead he threw it backwards over his shoulder like a pinch of salt and hoped for the best.

And the best happened.

The concussion grenade landed amid a cluster of the enemy and exploded, deafening and blinding a good number of them temporarily if the confused shouting was anything to go by. Rather than stay where he was, Tomic moved up to a different piece of cover while they were disorientated so that they wouldn't be able to track him to his new location until he had already attacked from it.

As soon as Tomic screamed Jay tucked back into cover and hugged the wall.

His negotiations failed. The enemy probably didn't even hear what he shouted due the ongoing fight and the stunner his partner just fed them. The Sith's silhouette caught his attention. He made a mental note, two grenades and covering fire wasn't enough to get her close enough.

Jayscreec controlled his breathing, he leaned out and opened fire at the stunned pirates. While he managed to wound them, he was also exposed. And he exposed himself enough to get hit. It felt like getting punched in the face. Jay fell back into his cover and called it in.

"Tomic, I'm hit."

He started reloading his blaster rifle with shaky hands.

No tunnel vision. I need new cover.

Weather Irolia hadn't heard what Tomic yelled, or the sheer firepower from the pirate that drowned Tomic's call-out. Irolia didn't know, but the next thing that happened hit her like a truck, made of fire. First, she got blinded by a concussion grenade, which made a powerful ringing in her ears, like a siren. The next moment, felt like being graced by fire, as one of the shots from the heavy gunner pirates fired in blindness, before dropping the gun. That one shot graced Irolia right in the shoulder, making it only a few centimetres from her actual head. As if it hadn't been enough the force from the shot, sent her down behind cover.

She hissed in pain from the graced shot. Not to mention, the ringing and pounding of her head did not make it easier. But all in all, she escaped only with a minor scratch. Rather lucky, all thing considered, of course, there was still her damn ringing in her head.

Half sitting on the floor, Irolia leaned up by a crate near her, behind cover. She was actually getting pretty damn tired of grenades right about now. "You got to be kidding me..." said Irolia, trying to get her head to stop pounding.

... apparently providing assistance wasn't worth much when your own side looked right at your flashbang as well. He wanted to face-palm but he was a professional and they needed to keep going. There was too much as stake here for them to lose here. Specifically they were in imminent danger right now.

He was not going to die in the cargo hanger of some smuggler's large freighter to some god-damned pirates just because his team seemed to be suffering from some bad luck and bad grenade discipline. Gripping his rifle tightly, Tomic decided that he was probably going to need to do something drastic to give his allies chance to recover.

"FOR THE EMPIRE!"

Tomic screwed his courage to the sticking place, roared out a battle cry and charged out from behind his cover. For the first few steps it looked like he had managed to catch them by surprise and no one opened fire. Then they started to open fire and it was too late, Tomic had crossed the distance and charged into the midst of three of the remaining sixteen pirates.

They stared at him in surprise but Tomic didn't hesitate, blasting two of them twice in the chest before they could react. The third one managed to fire at him but Tomic threw himself to the ground, rolled to face him and fired twice more, blasting the man's skull apart.

The remaining thirteen pirates focused on him, opening fire as Tomic rolled behind another crate, weathering their fire as best as he could.

... he still couldn't believe that had actually worked.

The effect wasn't as bad, as when the concussion grenade went off. She tried to shake the pounding pain and blinding dots in her eyes to go away. It all seemed to start working, as she started to blink in order to get her sight back, she started to hear quiet whispers. The whispers started to get louder. "No no no... not now! Leave me alone!" Said Irolia as she started to panic a bit. "Did you really think you could keep us out child? You will never get rid of us!" spat the first voice at her. "Shut up!" responded Irolia placing her hands on her ears to keep the voices out while shaking her head violently. "Shut up? My, what a disappointment you turned out to be" Cackled the second voice on the other side of her.

"Fark off, both of you!" Screamed Irolia, igniting her lightsaber in an attempt to cut the voices behind her to pieces, just to get them to stop talking to her. Irolia sliced a deep corner off one of the crates, she sat by, though nothing in the crate got damaged. Some of the pirates closest to Irolia heard her and the lightsaber and turned to fire at her. They didn't get to hit Irolia though, as she was quickly back down, behind her crate. The good thing at least was the fact that she wasn't blinded anymore, the bad thing, the very bad thing, was the fact that the voices had returned.

Getting tunnel vision froze Jay's legs. He tried to ignore the pain in his shoulder. Yet, the thought of taking new cover just flew out of his head. I am going to capture one and negotiate, said Jay via radio.

The bright idea turned out almost deadly.

The agent ran closer to the pirate group. He chose a pile of supplies in order to take cover and sneak up on them. As he approached the nearest enemy he thought he was two steps ahead, laying his hand on his knife. Then suddenly he felt incredible pain in his chest.

It is often said among soldiers, if you can hear the shot you're good. Jay heard nothing when he got hit. Somebody out of his sight caught him off-guard. In order to stay on his feet, he reached out to grab the supply boxes. However, they contained nothing. The boxes collapsed on Jay.

The agent fell unconscious.

Attempting to take a hostage

He still had twenty rounds in his rifle and the enemy had been whittled down to thirteen from his last mad dash - he was beginning to feel like he was seriously the only member of the team actually doing any work here. This was made even more apparent by the fact that he saw Jay take a shot to his armoured chest and go down underneath some seemingly empty crates.

... was he going to have to...? Yeah... yeah he was.

He sighed.

"Cover me Irolia." he commed his sole-remaining awake partner before readying himself, "Here comes some more concentrated stupid... here's hoping it actually works like last time."

Taking a deep breath, Tomic grit his teeth and charged forwards once again. Firing his blaster twice, the pirates ducked behind cover on reflex as he covered the distance from his current hiding place to where Jay had been downed. When he arrived there were two pirates readying themselves to gun down the downed agent.

He fired into their backs, killing them both with another two shots each.

He was down to fourteen shots... that was fine. He still had some ammo and the enemy were down to eleven men now. Reaching down, Tomic grabbed Jay, pulling him behind cover with him, slapping the man around the face. The agent had taken the shot to the armour so it wasn't too powerful - he had probably only blacked out for a moment.

"Jay get your arse up!"

Rolling to Rescue Jay

The voices in her head was really on a roll today. They just wouldn't shut up! They even taunted Irolia for her weak mind. it really pissed her off. Irolia rose from her cover with both her blasters drawn and opened hellfire upon the boarding pirates. Screaming with rage, the pirates got taken off guard for just a moment, but the sudden screaming and blasting blue alien. Most of the shots didn't hit any of the pirates, due to their cover, but she managed to grace one in the shoulder. Though she graced one of the thirteen pirates, it wasn't what she aimed to do.

By repeating the constant cover fire at the pirates, basically, she did a sweeping with both her blasters. It worked, she kept the pirates from getting up from their cover to shoot at Tomic, giving the Agent enough time to get Jay to safety. Unfortunate, the voices in her head started to get into her mind, it was exhausting to constantly have voices hammer her down and this time, it seemed to only getting worse. Due to her stressful mind working overtime, lost sight of what she was doing, just. to. get. the. voices. to. STOP! Irolia kneeled by the same cover as before and just dropping her guns to the floor, trying to hit her own head, an attempt to shut the voice out.

"Shut up, shut up, shut up!" Get out of my head!" Said Irolia painfully, shutting her eyes tight, picturing her inner demons to disappear.

About half the enemy died so far. Jayscreec was just hit recently but Tomic came to his aid and saved him. The slaps woke him up. His head finally cleared out.

Jay started to focus. He crouched down behind the pile of supplies and engaged from cover.

While the cover soaked any damage, Jay remained in his position. He finally opened fire. No nervousness, hesitation or fear. For him in that moment, only his rifle and the soon-to-be dead pirates existed. The shots targeted the body center of mass. The damage caused the pirates severe losses, two soldiers collapsed and one nearly lost a limb.

Despite the positive results the agent didn't want to attempt negotiations again. He wanted blood.

Engaging the enemy

Still nine of the pirates left but they were turning the tide against the enemy that much was for certain. Gripping his rifle tightly, Tomic was a little bit annoyed by how limited his line of sight here was. Some of the enemy were hiding behind cover and they were just not in a position for him to get a hit.

Which meant it was time to move.

He wasn't going to risk another dash across no-man's land considering his luck was bound to run out at some point so he decided that it would be best, instead, to add a new dimension to the battle. Prepping his armour, Tomic took off in a run towards one of the many cargo-container sized crates of cargo that the freighter was hauling. Activating his jump boots with the flick of a switch on his forearm, he launched himself up briefly, allowing him to clear the height and land safely atop the container.

Not missing a beat, Tomic aimed quickly with his blaster rifle and opened fire on a group of three pirates from above, their cover useless to them from this angle. It took another six shots, two each, but he gunned down all three pirates. That meant that there were only six more pirates left and his ammo?

He crouched to reduce his profile and checked his ammo count.

Eight rounds before he needed to reload or switch weapons.

Use Jump Boots To Attack From Above

Irolia rose from her cover and charged the remaining pirates behind cover. The constant taunting, demeaning and berating her of her, made her snap and not clear thinking. Igniting lightsaber she charged the enemy without really thinking it through, she just. want. the. voices. GONE! She jumped, raising her lightsaber over her head, arching her body. The pirates saw it coming, for some reason, of course, they did and one of them blasted Irolia directly dead on by a knock-back shot. To be more precise, the shot was some sort of mini shockwave and could push objects or people, if they got too close.

Being up in the air, Irolia had absolutely no chance of stopping the blast from hitting her dead on. Irolia got launched back into a bunch of crates, tumbling all the crates around her. Not only did Irolia get knocked out by hitting a metal pipe with her head, but she also got buried under multiple smaller crates. On the bright side, Irolia couldn't hear any voices anymore. Although, she was knocked out and buried under a bunch of smaller crates and knocked put. Besides that, Tomic and Jay were a man down now. Just to top that, the pirates tried to flank Tomic and jay, as some of the other pirates provided cover fire.

Rolling for a slaughter attack at the remaining pirates

Six pirates left who were still trying to be smart. This couldn't be necessarily a bad thing, for Jay it meant they were thinking, so it could worth a chance to try talking. He counted them from his cover again, opened his helmet to reveal his face and just started. "Six of you remained, think for a second!" he shouted. "Stop right there, we won't shoot, think!"

To everyone's surprise the pirate leading the charge changed his direction and took cover, the rest of his own followed. The firefight ceased. Only mumbling came until one of the pirates replied. "We are willing to talk. Let us leave free!"

Jayscreec glanced at Tomic, shaking his head.

"Look, I know you just wanted to earn yourself some credit, but this isn't the only way. You seem to be good fighters." His vocal tone lowers in pitch. "We can get somewhere but you need to work with me."
The pirate's eyes narrow. His mouth opens slightly in surprise. "What are you thinking?" he asked. "We are just criminals in your eyes."
"As I said, we can work together. Back then I could go to prison or join the Empire. I chose the latter, no regrets" Jay said. "What is your name?"
"I'm Bredbore." the pirate said. "Who are you?"
"Just Jay. Trust me it is going to be okay. Put down your weapons and come out. We won't shoot."

Only ten seconds passed but it felt like minutes. Irolia laid exposed. The team could loose her over some pirates and a cargo ship. The muscles beneath Jayscreec's chest tightened. He felt pain from previously being shot, his adrenaline no longer served as a painkiller. Blasters being put on the ground broke the silence. The remaining six pirates left their cover with their hands on their head.

Negotiations

Irolia was down but Jay had managed to get the remaining pirates to surrender.

While he was doing that, Tomic rushed on over to Irolia and checked her over. She had taken some nasty damage but he was reasonably confident that she would be fine with some medical attention. Thankfully both she and Jay were close enough to a medical bay that it was going to be fine. Irolia was out of it right now and Jay was only up and about because of raw adrenaline - Tomic was under no doubts that both of his allies needed immediate medical attention.

Which meant that, as nice as it was to take prisoners?

Right now it was impractical.

Jay was about ready to collapse again from his injuries and Irolia had already collapsed - there were six pirates left and there would only be him to secure them. So he made a judgement call. When the six pirates left their cover unarmed, Tomic walked closer to them as though he was going to secure them.

Instead he opened fire from point blank range, gunning all six of them down. There was no room for mercy when his friends were in danger.
