Gjallarhorn-Series Heavy Assault Armor

AFFILIATION
Supreme Leader Kyuss Thaun

OWNERSHIP
Personal
COMPOSITION
Durasteel, armorweave, plexalloy, cortosis

TYPE
Heavy assault Armor

INTENT

To create a personalized set of heavy combat armor for Kyuss to set him a part from the average soldier as well as meet the requirements necessary for his alien biology.

RATING

Universal: Armor stands up up well against non-gel flamethrowers for roughly five minutes. Can survive vacuum for a period of time, oxygen likely to deplete before suit failure. Can withstand blade combat with larger vibroblades for a reasonable period of time before the armor starts to give in to stress. Finer more accurate blades are capable of slipping through the gaps in the plates. Cortosis lined portions offer a hit of protection against lightsabers.

Durasteel: Can withstand 2-3 shots before failing.

Armorweave: Can dissipate 1-2 blaster bolts before failing.

DESCRIPTION
Designed to fully compliment Kyuss' method of fighting, the Gjallarhorn-Series Heavy Assault Armor is incredibly sturdy in its design as well as leaving some room left for maneuverability. The core of the armor's plates are made from durasteel, with the helmet, gauntlets and bracers being made from a durasteel and cortosis alloy to provide some protection from lightsabers. The armor was built with the intention of being worn in the thick of on the ground fighting, whether that be at range with firearms or in CQC with swords and the like. IT weighs forty-five (45) kilograms.

The load-out of the armor itself was inspired by Mandalorian design, with flame throwers on two of the wrists and missile launchers on the other two - all of which can be activated by voice commands or by recognition of a pattern of blinks, as well as manually by pressing an activation button on the wrist. It is also fitted with a re-purposed jetpack that operates more akin to forward and left and right thrusters than a true jetpack. The thrusters can be activated to propel the wearer forward at a speed of five (five) meters per second for a three second burst. This burst can be used to go forward, left and right but not a combination of any directions. The re-purposed thruster pack, having to use a much higher concentration of fuel to achieve the momentum necessary to move Kyuss' bulk, can only utilize five (5) of these short bursts before needing to be refueled.

Maybe I'm missing it, but how much does this armor weigh?

Ah looks like I forgot to put it in the description.

I would say all things included 45kg? Does that sound in the ballpark?

Works for me. The only other things that really jumps out as being a tad overkill are the rockets (since the armor is really tech-heavy and decked out as it is) and arguably the boosters. For the former, I'd say lose em, but for the latter, I'm on the fence. I've already asked the power-that-be for their input on both, just to be sure, so hopefully, this can get approved quickly!

I can nix the wrist rockets no problem, but I'd like to see if we can work on keeping the thrusters in. They'd be a complete substitute for the use of a jetpack and they offer a a considerable less amount of utility and uptime.

There anything we can do salvage the idea?

I seem to have made that water bladder a staple in the newer armors. >.>

I'd say just reduce the propulsion speed of the thrusters, and you're good.

Changes be made. Removed rockets, added weight and reduced the speed of the thrusters.

Whatcha think? @Korvo

This is going to need significant rework to fit the new rules.

Pretty sure this was exclusively owned by Kyuss, who is now dead.
