The title exaggerates it a bit, they're not just hoping a god will save him. They're using Native medicine.

I disagree with what they're doing too, but after all it's their child.

Then it will be their fault, but the child is their responsibility and I don't believe in forcing people to give up their children except in circumstances of child abuse.

I have a hunch that's what Minnesota feels this is....Allowing your son to die seems pretty abusive to me.

PS:

Yes, I know he has a 5% chance of surviving with the help of the herbal remedies, but the 95% that chemo and radiation therapy seems like its much more likely to work. Therefore, denying him chemo and giving him a 5% chance at surviving this cancer is, in my eyes, abuse.

This is completely dumb and only an issue because of the dumb beliefe of extreme parental sovereignty over thier children. Obviously, (at east in this situation) the parent does not know best. It shouldn't be considered terrible that they do not get to make a decision for thier child when it has a chance of costing him his life. It is extremely dumb.

This is child abuse in my opinion.

You really didn't just say that?

The child is about to DIE and the parents are saying no to the thing that can help him. If a child accidentally sets himself on fire with gasoline and a match and the parents say "Oh no he'll be alright. Here we'll tell him to stop drop and roll." It's negligent abuse. Whether the parents are to stupid to realize it is their problem, they should still be arrested for it and have their child taken away.

I know they're being stupid, and I admit it is abuse, but it's their child. And the fact that the decision to use Native medicine has to do with their religious beliefs gives them a lot of strength in today's courts.

That doesn't mean we should be absolutely ok with it. We seem to get pissed off if a muslim extremist blows himself and kills people in the name of his religion, right? we don't say 'well come on it was his religious belief we can't get mad!" If a christian extremist beat someone up for being a heathen, or some crazy crazy jewish extremist was hurting people for not being members of the chosen people, we wouldn't approve just because it's their religious belief right?

I don't care what their religious belief is at all, to be frank, or to be the agriculturist. What I care about (a little) is that their religious beliefs are bringing about the death of their son. At this point, they should lose all responsibility in regards to the boy.

Note:
Viggaraza me knowz yous not defending them really so don't think me attacking your honor or something.

Lol I know you're not attacking my honour. All I was saying is that as the laws are right now, they have the right to do this.

The fact stand that his parents didn't go to medical school under extensive training for years and specialize in cancer diagnosis and treatment. Whatever their beliefs, doctors know much more than they do, and they are basically saying medical professionals are inferior to themselves.

God's the only one who can save him if this continues.
