Coruscant. A planet-wide city that never slept and always buzzed with activity. Throughout all of its levels, it was the center for all manners of business and entertainment, legal or not, and home to countless people of varying races.

Home. Coruscant was home to Maximus, and he knew it remained so, never changing in the years he spent wandering the galaxy, even as he established temporary establishments on numerous planets. The towering skyscrapers, the never ending sound of bartering in the market, and the undercity that lied beneath the city's glowing surface were all familiar to him.

Having seated himself in the park located near the Jedi Temple, Maximus took in his surroundings for the first time in twelve years. Not much, if anything, had changed since he had been gone. In fact, the planet still looked the same from when he was a mere child. Looking up and into the sky, he smiled softly at the memory. He remembered watching the stars and wondering what was out there, wishing to know, wanting to explore. He wanted to become a merchant and trader like his father so he could do just that. As a boy, that was all he was interested in; the places beyond the vast city he grew up in. Sighing softly, he gazed at the foliage in front of him.

His past was a fairly simple one. His time as a young man was not always happy or easy, but he was satisfied with that. What life was made up of nothing but joy or riches? No, even now he was satisfied with the life he once had on Coruscant. He was smart and strong. He didn't make the best decisions all the time, but he was young and naive. No, it wasn't the memories of his everyday life or regrets that drove him back to this planet.

For twelve years he hunted for leads on his family's killers and found nothing. For twelve years he ended more lives than he would like to admit and ruined countless more. Yes, he was currently under contract with the woman who hired them in the first place, but she provided nothing about them, nor would she unless he gained her trust, but that could potentially take years to accomplish. Even then she may not be willing to divulge information on them. Then all that time spent working for her would be for naught.

Was he right to seek revenge on those that killed his family? If so, should he finally catch up to them, what would he do? How would he fee after he killed them? What if he spared them? He could honestly say that he didn't know. He didn't know if he would feel good after getting revenge or not. He didn't know what his family would think if they could see him now. Maximus chuckled silently. Actually, he had a good feeling of how they would feel, or what they would say to him. His mother would probably just shake her head while his father, while proud of his son for seeking an occupation other than that of a merchant, would be filled with disappointment or pity for his reasons to become a mercenary.

That was why he returned to Coruscant. To look back into his past so that he may unlock a path to a future he may otherwise walk upon. Closing his eyes, he breathed in slowly, attempting to calm the negative feeling he felt in his core.

It was obvious as to why Jedi came to this park to meditate. It was very serene and a good place to clear one's mind and think.
