"Kinston, they can utterly annihilate our bodies, our names, and everything that was ever associated with us, but they cannot erase what we have done. They cannot make the marks we had created disappear as if they were never there at all. You had best remember that if you wish to remain amongst us, for every decision you will make will shape the fates of those around you, even after you're long dead and gone."
-Captain Gray Edwards

Those were the final words that Cpt. Edwards said to me before he and the rest of DEEPEYES departed to oversee an attempt to settle things diplomatically between our employers and some rising gang named. The Fractured Krayts if I remember correctly. Captain Edwards, Master Sergeant Whittaker, Corporals Fleming and Proudfoot, the original four and founders of the DEEPEYES Squadron, left me behind to make sure nothing happened to the Wisp's club, as per the usual arrangement when they departed for more sensitive and important operations.

It was an arrangement that I understood perfectly; they were far more capable and skilled then I was at the time; Captain Edwards was skilled in, of course, leadership and the use of most basic firearms. Master Sergeant Whittaker could shrug off impressive amounts of physical harm and still stand tall. Corporal Proudfoot was the heavy weapons specialist, always lugging around that massive repeater of hers. As for Corporal Fleming, he was skilled in slicing into just about anything.

Me? Heh, I'm no one special; I'm just a mercenary trained to be a soldier while being raised by some pirates who scoured the galaxy for targets incapable of fighting back until they were all killed off. Can't remember how exactly they died, nor how I survived. Hmph.

Although, after that, I just drifted around in the trash heap that was formerly their ship. Then, of all places, someone from Nar Shaddaa managed to find the wreckage.

Go figure. Out of the hands of small-time pirates and into those that had the most potential to be the greatest scumbags in the galaxy..

Turns out, this guy wasn't too much of a scumbag. Just a little.

He never gave his actual name. At least, I think he didn't. As everyone else decided to give him a name, he saw fit to bear it. Everyone called him the Wisp.

As far as I know, no one knows his actual name, nor where he came from. He simply appeared one day on Nar Shaddaa as someone irrelevant. However, there is one thing that everyone knows; he owns the Nocturne District, in which his club is located. It is also believed that there is someone always watching each individual to insure that conflicts, not ordered by the Wisp, do not break out; people have been led to this conclusion when a number of fights have been swiftly dealt with, often with swift and fatal results. To those that do not disturb others in the otherwise peaceful district, sans the Wisp's club, it is a place that people can escape to, away from the rest of the scum-covered planet.

From my previous experience working for the Wisp, I can tell that he possesses a fairly large organization, with a half a dozen or so captains, who oversee different parts of the district and are in charge of who knows how many thugs, soldiers, et cetera. As for the elusive man's relations, I do not know what they are with any of the other criminal groups or the Hutts. Well, none of them besides the Forgotten, who killed my superiors a year ago.

I would spell things out as to what happened, but I do not know. Only the Wisp and the Forgotten know exactly what occurred that night.

Now, I must be going; my employer wishes to meet me in person to brief me on something. Fan-kriffin'-tastic. Only after the near entirety of the DEEPEYES are wiped out does he wish to see me. Oh well. You cannot change the past, and some things in the present, but if there's one thing I do know, it's that you can be sure as hell that you can carve your own path to the future.

This is Corporal. Kinston, signing off.

KINSTON_GRAY_D/PERSONALITY&ABILITIES

Kinston, Gray D. The newest member of the DEEPEYES Squadron and probably the most easygoing outside of assigned operations. His attitude is often that of a lax individual, uncaring to remarks that would otherwise offend most people; that is, when said remarks aren't directed at certain people and items he holds dear. Should that occur, Kinston is not one to go off in anger, but is most likely to remain calm and adopt a more serious and unforgiving personality, of which is similar to that when he dives headfirst into any assigned operations.

When given a mission of any kind, the smirking or smiling man, depending on his current mood, takes up the previously stated personality, only far more focused and efficient than what others would think he would be capable of prior to seeing it for themselves. With this, Kinston becomes a fine mercenary, a soldier even. He respects many forms of authority even though he was raised by pirates, as my sources have told me, and is unlikely to show any disrespect to those possessing higher power than he; these can differ from strength, intelligence, rank, and much more.

Kinston, from the reports of Captain Edwards, has been known to display some forms of respect to his enemies as well. Something that may or may not cause problems in the future.

On a final note for this log, the Private does not disobey orders. From the numerous missions he has already been sent on, there has not been a single report of disobedience from the young man. This is good for a soldier that is led by an efficient officer such as Captain Edwards. However, for one to follow practically any order, no matter how insignificant or atrocious, it can only lead down a path from which Kinston may not be able to turn back from, and may ultimately end up costing him his life or humanity.

I'll be sure to have the rest of the DEEPEYES monitor him, and make note of his progress throughout his career, both under my payroll and those of others, should he depart from Nar Shaddaa one day.

As for his abilities, it seems that Kinston possesses an aptitude with many, if not all, forms of basic and several forms of heavy weaponry. Although, it seems that he is 'skilled at many, master of none;' while he is more than capable that properly wielding blaster weapons and skilled enough to best the average gunman, he is incapable of reaching the heights that would allow him to bear true mastery over anything. Also, from several tests, the Private has a slight ability for slicing, albeit it is an untapped potential; the same can be said for his handling of explosive ordinance.

He has little to no skill in the piloting of starcraft and heavy machinery; he also lacks in certain areas, such as subterfuge, diplomacy, and knows the basics in field dressing wounds.

For now, that is all I know on this new member of DEEPEYES; More files will undoubtedly be made as time passes.

This is the Wisp of Nar Shaddaa; close file.

"Determined, practical, focused, intrepid, honorable, and valiant, Gray was a loyal soldier, effective leader, and trustworthy friend. He let his conscience guide him in his decisions and would trust the decisions of those he respected."

The now deceased leader of DEEPEYES, Edwards, Gray, was the one who sought out the man Kinston, Gray D. and recruited him into the Squad. Edwards was a leader who looked out for everyone in his command, DEEPEYES or not, and made sure to complete his given objectives efficiently, seeking to keep casualties to a minimum on any side. Sometimes, his personal views got in the way of his mission, and that may have been what led to his, and three other DEEPEYES members, downfall.

It was not quite clear what the exact nature of her relationship with Neil was; while she picked on him, and argued with him a lot, she was also very loyal and concerned for his welfare."

WEAPONS

TSWGuns2.jpg

The CEC-manufactured G42-E 'Sturm' Gauss Assault Rifle is a high-powered magnetic accelerator weapon. Powerful acceleration coils line the weapons barrel, which originates just behind the trigger group, while the magazine block is a drop-in unit contained in a slot atop the weapon's stock, just over the barrel.

Rugged to an extreme, 'Sturm' rifles have been field-tested extensively from Tatooine to Hoth, and have passed every trial with flying colors. Its lightweight but rugged plasteel-polymer body gives it tremendous strength without undue weight, while a stout durasteel 'chassis' is hidden underneath the body, adding much-needed rigidity to the rifle.

It is capable of accelerating a 8x70MM slug to blistering velocities, with its muzzle velocity averaging around 3,500 feet per second! Used with tungsten-cored Armor-Piercing ammunition, this rifle has the accuracy and punch needed to engage hostile armored infantry out to 600 meters and put them in the ground.

A simple targeting computer, the popular General Arms N4 'Hawkeye', is fitted to the front of the weapon, inside the body. This device, electromagnetically shielded like the rest of the rifle, uses a small rangefinder and sensor package to determine range to target and environmental conditions, and provides correction information to a GA OA-193 Variable-Zoom Advanced Gunsight, which can be quickly and easily fixed to the top of the weapon. Alternatively, it can feed information directly to the user's HUD. In either case, the correction data only indicates how to correct for local ballistic drop and wind conditions; actually striking the target is still entirely up to the user.

The Sturm can also mount the GA KG-4 Micro-Missile Projector under the barrel, which fires a 30x140MM concussion missile and uses a targeting laser from the N4 Hawkeye module to guide the missile to its final destination. The standard HE-FRAG missile is comparable in terms of blast damage to a small hand grenade, with a lethal bursting radius of 2.5M and a wounding radius of 5M, though a specialized HE-DP, or Dual Purpose, missile is also available. The HE-DP variant boasts a small shaped charge, enhancing lethality against armor at the expense of overall effectiveness against scattered targets as its lethal bursting radius is reduced to a meager 0.5 meters.

RANGE: 600M

VELOCITY: 3,500FPS

ROF: 660RPM

MAGAZINE CAP: 30 ROUNDS

POWER CELL: 300 SHOTS

AMMO: 8x70MM

This weapon is used as an emergency backup should the primary weapon of the DEEPEYES, the 'Sturm,' fail. It uses standard .45 caliber slugs and up to twelve rounds per clip.
Sheathed on the left pauldron of every member of DEEPEYES is a dagger that is used in close-combat, medical situations, et cetera. The blade is approximately 8" long.

ARMOR

l_173840_d5db74d7.jpg

Each Deep Eyes soldier dons a full suit of body armor to protect them from the hazardous wasteland conditions they may have to endure. Typically, a Deep Eyes member wears a full helmet, known as an AN/SUS - 9C Nightmare tactical helmet, complete with a built-in rebreather and vision enhancing goggles, which gives the soldier the appearance of ghostly blue eyes. However, a helmet with most of the same basic functions exists for more flexibility, known as the AN/SUS - 10A Revenant tactical helmet, which only covers the eyes and a portion of the nose. The suits are color-coded to denote rank.

vanishin-1.jpg

The primary starship used by the DEEPEYES, the Phantom is approximately the size of a standard-sized freighter and holds a fair armament of weapons, armoring, and shielding; due to the deaths of a majority of the DEEPEYES Squadron, the Wisp has issued several droids to take care of the ship, and has allowed Kinston to come into possession of it.

Managed to flesh out the profile somewhat; constructive criticism would be much appreciated.

Still have to finish up some things, but they can be pretty simple to finish up.

EDIT: Kudos to Jiang for Star-Wars-ifying the 'Sturm,' formerly the 'Serpent.' Thank you! :D
