Kaala pushed open the bar door and walked out. She didn't normally drink too much, but considering there was a black hole or something causing chaos in the galaxy-and the fact she was going to serve as part of the security between Sith and Jedi while they discussed said black hole-she thought she deserved it. The Togruta walked down the empty street, illuminated by the dim streetlights lining the road. Ah, security duty. That would be a change from the smuggling she was used to. Suddenly, a few clanking steps behind her caused Kaala to turn and lower herself into a crouching position. "Hey, Vaze," she said quietly. The droid beeped and hopped into her extended palm. Kaala rose, placing Vaze on her shoulder, and resumed her brisk pace towards the Tano. Then she paused, turning once again. More footsteps. The Togruta reached for her blaster pistol. "Who's there?" she challenged, armor glinting.

(OOC: Kaala is about to go off to the Maw meeting, but she's taking a stop here. Feel free to toss in your OC! If said character is going to the meeting as well, maybe they could go together. We shall see.)

Derium staggered down the street, barefoot and bruised and panting. His recent run-in with a local criminal had resulted in a battle of fisticuffs, one that did not result in the drug-dealers favor. However, the wound in his side oozed with blood. The dank ferrick had drawn a knife and unfairly used it in the fight.

Derium chuckled as the burnt skin on his hands intermingled with the bleeding wound. It was a good blow. Painful and enlightening. The spirits loved that blow with every ounce of essence they could conjure.

Still riding the high from the fight, Derium continued on through the night, looking for either a place to tend his wound, or another person to give him enlightenment. When the voice called out, he stopped and looked up. Perhaps the latter had been met.

"I'm who I am, ya dank sleemo" Derium barked with an insult, hoping to goad someone into a fight. As he spoke, his bleeding gums splattered some blood out, a result from a right hook from the criminal. It wasn't until after he barked that he noticed the blaster.

"What's the karkking deal with that laser pointer?" Derium snarled. "Either shoot me, fight me, or give me a bacta ya nerf-kisser"

Great. Just great. Kaala raised her Glie-44, pointing it straight at the man. "Maybe I should shoot you," she said coldly. To Vaze, she whispered, "Get me my helmet from the bag." the small droid nosed her bag open and lifted the helmet with his head. The Togruta took the helmet and placed it on her head with her free hand, maneuveing it so that her montrals and lekku fin in their respective gaps. She looked through the visor, whixh was accented by the dim light of the HUD. "Back off. I don't want to fight you." Maybe this could end without blodshed. Still, just in case, she quietly armed her Whistling Birds.

Derium snickered as she put a helmet over her head. "You don't want to fight, but you pulled your weapon first. You're a karkking liar and an idiot, Mandalorian. You face a disciple of perfection, and a shaper of fire itself"

As he spoke, his hand left his wound and grabbed the handle of his celestial javelin. Unclipping it from his belt, the head fell to the stone floor with a clang before Derium picked it up again. One hand holding the handle, the other the chain itself, he began to dangle the weapon as he prepared himself for a blaster shot, unaware of any other weapon the Togruta had.

"Come welp, the spirits are singing now. Shall we please their cries for blood, or shall you admit your stupidity?"

Derium smiled and awaited an answer. The Force around him was beginning to tense up. The air around his body began to simmer slightly as he focused his thoughts. In his mind, he could hear the spirits of Dathomir calling for his pain to be released. If this being attacked, he would respond in kind.

Kaala blinked at his words. Manalorian? "For someone calling me an idiot, you aren't so bright yourself. This is stormtrooper armor." She leveled her blaster with a sigh. Although…maybe he's right. She lowered the pistol just a little, although she could bring it right back up to firing position if need be. "For someone who obviously just lost a fight, you talk pretty big." Right as she finished speaking, Vaze chirped. "Yes, Vaze," Kaala said quietly. The droid looked straight at Derium…and fired a stun blast. Kaala hoped that the man would be expecting a shot from her, not the droid. Plus, the non-lethal nature of the shot would show her intent to avoid injuring the man.

Derium riased an eyebrow. Stormtrooper? What was that? All these fangled armor wearers were so confusing to the Shaper of Kro Var, and looked alike to the madman. Back on his homeworld, no one used armor, save the cowards. He only knew of the Mandalorians because they occasionally visited his world.

"I haven't lost a fight you blind idiot." Derium snarled as he took a step forward.

The stun blast caught him off guard. He did not expect the droid to be armed at all. He expeccted the woman to either be a fool and lower her weapon all the way or accepted his challenge and shoot him. Not the droid.

Derium fell forward as the energy of the shot ran through his system. He wanted to scream but his entire body had locked up. He had been stunned before. The time spent imprisoned on Rava IV resulted in numerous stunning. The worst part of those is they dulled the enlightening pain and threatened unwanted unconsciousness.

Thankfully, Derium learned a few tricks to overcoming the effects, if slightly.

On the ground, the world started to go black. Derium screamed inwardly as he focused his breath and his arms. He was losing more and more feeling in them, but he had a few ounces of control yet. With all the might he could force, he brought his right hand in and dug his fingers into the open wound in his side.

Control came back to Derium in a wave. The pain of jabbing his own wound pushed the darkness away. Derium's mouth opened in an agonising scream that slowly shifted to laughter.

"You fragging hutt-spawn!" Derium cursed. He removed his hand from his wound and placed both hands on the ground. Now on all fours, his left hand landed on the head of his javelin. The weapon began to smolder as Derium focused the Force.

"If you are gonna shoot me, do it with something that will actually hurt!"

The tar and coal filled weapon suddenly burst into flames. The most simple application of pyrokinesis, Derium heated up the inner substance to combustion. With one swift motion, Derium forced the spirits, grabbed a handful of fire and tossed the fist sized fireball at the woman.

Kaala watched in surprise as the man rose to his feet. Obviously, the stun blast hadn't been enough. She watched, fixated, as the stranger picked up his weapon. Almost immediately, smoke rose, followed by fire. What the-a Force user! This thought brought the Togruta back to her senses just in time to get the fireball thrown at her. She raised her arm to shield herself, but it was hardly necessary. About half of the projectile was stopped by her forearm, while the rest of it struck her chestplate. A bit of pain jolted through her arm at the impact and she staggared a little, but other than that she was fine. Kaala lowered her arm with a smirk, which was hidden by her helmet. "You really are stupid. This armor isn't flammable." Then she responded with her own attack: a shot aimed at his hand holding the spear. Hopefully it would disarm the crazy man. Immediately folowing the shot from her Glie-44, she waved her unused left hand towards Vaze. "Fire." The tiny droid unleashed two more stun blasts. With all luck, this would be over in seconds.

Derium growled in annoyance at the woman's words but did not waste his time. Both she and her droid were now attacking. This was not a time for words. It was a time for action.

The woman had opened fire with her blaster. Finally Derium thought. Initially he hoped she would've done it earlier to light his javelin on fire instead of himself, but no matter now. With trained reflexes, Derium tossed the javelin's head to intercept the shot. As it took the blaster shot for him, he himself began to roll sideways, in an effort to stay mobile and difficult to hit. Good thing too. He felt the brunt hairs on his body tense as the droid's two stun blasts nearly hit his head.

Derium tucked in his legs and launched himself at his attacker. His side wound was a double edged sword. True, it gave him some focus, but the leaking blood meant he couldn't fight for long. He needed to win this quickly, and the best way would be to grab the Togruta herself. As she pointed out, the armor wasn't flammable. But there were ways around armor. All he needed to do was get his hands on her, and hold on. If he could, he would channel the force into her armor, rapidly heating it up and begin to cook her alive.

All he needed was to grab and hold onto her.

Kaala had been in enough fights to be ready for the attack, but the ferocity of it still suprised her. Apparently, she had underestimated her foe. At least her opponent was disarmed-as was she. The tackle had sent her pistol flying. With a thud the fell on her back, feeling the impact rattle both her and her armor. With a grunt she swung her fist in a right hook, trying to knock off her opponent. At the same time, she brought up her hemeted head to slam it into the man's masked face. Her left arm came up and grabbed his shirt, trying to yank him off. Vaze chirped nervously, wanting to help but forced to watch from the sidelines for fear of hiting the Togruta.

The right hook landed solidly. Derium eyes shined as he laughed at the blow. It felt good. The sharp pain of a potential concussion, the ringing in his ears, the sudden spinning of the world. It felt good. It was how he called the spirits to him ever closer. His body was a vessel, and his pain was their summons to he-

The helmet smack was much more effective. The sheer dizziness of the hit allowed the Togruta to effortlessly roll him off. Derium shook his head in shock, and then laughed again.

"Every blow, a pathway for the spirits! More, More I say!" Derium laughed. The world still spinning, he reached out and grabbed the woman's leg. His air around his hands began to simmer. Channeling the force, he attempted to heat the woman's lower clothes and armor.

Kaala was just about to internally congratulate herself for a very effective punch when the man grabbed her leg. "Wha-" she managed, then decided that, to close the distance, there was one option: down. She came down on the man's chest with her armored knee, knowing that a hit like that would be very dangerous and probably take out a few of this man's ribs and maybe his lungs. She immediately followed up with a punch aimed at the man's face. Suddenly, she felt something odd. Was this joker trying to melt her or something? "Time for your third lesson of the day: plastoid isn't metal. It doesn't conduct heat that well." She waved her arm, and Vaze fired another stun shot. This had better work.

The blow to his chest was excruciating. Derium gasped a few times as he regained the air in his lungs. While she talked about the effectiveness of plastoid armor, Derium was confused. Had the spirits abandoned him, or simply not answered his commands? After all, he could heat things up as fast as a blaster bolt. Surely he would've cooked this woman's leg sooner than she expected?

He didn't have much time to wonder however. The stun blast was too much for his overworked body. Numbing unconsciousness claimed him, and he became still. Not dead, but no longer able to fight back.

Kaala let out a shaky sigh as she rose from her fighting position. She removed her helmet and placed it on the ground. As the adrenaline from the fight more off, she started to feel the burn. And wow, did it hurt. With a grunt she unclipped the piece of armor, removed it, and cautiously pulled up the leg of the black jumpsuit beneath. Almost the entire area between her knee and her shin was a nasty dark red hue. Any longer and I would have been toast! Vaze walked over to her, beeping nervously. "No, Vaze, I'm-Agh-fine." She looked over at her former opponent. Now, what to do with him… After thinking for a moment, she left Vaze with her piece of leg armor and helmet and dragged the man to a storefront where he would be found. As for her, she returned to Vaze, retrieved her armor, and limped towards the Tano, comforted by the fact that her ship had medkits.
