It was an early morning on Yavin. Issyl was still in her room, packing her things. She wasn't leaving, well she was but not permanently. She was assigned to go on a diplomatic mission, a rather simple one at that. It was some small village on a distant planet, she wasn't given many details. Issyl did know she would have a partner to go along with. Another young Jedi: Leon. She knew the name, Issyl saw him occasionally on Yavin. She found him to be kinda cute, but didn't know what he was like at all.

With her things packed she made her way to the designated freighter that her and her partner would use for their mission. It was filled with a lot of supplies, mostly food and medicine. It was safe to assume that this 'diplomatic' mission was more so providing a charity service. Issyl waited for her partner by the entrance ramp to the ship. She used the spare time to dig through her bag, making sure she has everything she needs. "Notebooks, makeup, toothbrush, pens, brush, snacks.." she mumbled a whole list of items she crammed in. The worst part of being a Jedi was the long trips to their destinations. It seemed like everything took forever to get to. Issyl looked back up and observed her surroundings "I hope he didn't forget."

The crackle and hiss of saber to saber echoed out across the training ground. The morning dew was still settling across the manicured field as Leon Baudelaire pressed his attack on the training droid before him. A cocky little smirk was settled on his lips as his eyes bore into the expressionless droid.

Looks like—” his voice was colored with effort as he held the droids weapon at bay, “—I’ve got you this time!

With a snarl, Leon spun to the right, caught an incoming blow on his blade, spun again the other way low, striking at the droid's knees but was deflected. He swung upward from a kneeling position. The droid swiped left to right its blade bounced Leon’s around. For a fraction of a second victory seemed to be in his grasp as the pulsing blade of his training saber careened in an arc coming down right between the droid photoreceptors, and then he was flying backward.

The cocky grin on his face was replaced by a crashing wave of confusion as he crashed into the ground. The wind was forced out of his lungs as his legs rolled over his head. He finally came to a stop sitting upright, but the world around him still shifted and shuddered. Leon shook the daze from his head and looked back at the droid. It’s off-hand was extended and at the center of it’s palm was a repulsor.

Baudelaire spat grass from his mouth and grumbled, “Karking cheater,” as he stood. A chime rang as the hour changed and Leon’s eyes went wide with terror, “I’M LATE!

Leon stampeded into the hangar his pack bouncing off his back as he ran toward the ship. His robes were disheveled and his hair was still wet from the quick shower he’d taken after sprinting from the training grounds. He’d packed his bag before heading to the training grounds and thanked the force he’d thought ahead for once.

The ship they were taking was a nondescript light freighter the kind that was easily lost in a crowd. YT series, if he had to guess. As he approached he spotted a familiar face. Leon slowed to a jog and flashed an apologetic smile, “Sorry, I’m late. I promise I’m more prepared than I look.

A pilot droid stepped on the boarding ramp, “If everyone is accounted for, please step into the ship, so we may begin our departure.

Baudelaire bobbed his head to the droid, then looked back to the other padawan and said, “I’ve seen you around, but I don’t think we’ve officially met, I’m Leon.

The inside of the freighter was pretty average. There was a lounge, but of course, nothing but blue milk and water was stocked in the fridge. Lame. The cargo bay had been modified into a meditation and exercise room, Leon was impressed by the assortment of workout equipment. Then he found the rooms. He slipped into one and dropped his pack. It had a bed, desk, and closet combo he actually really liked. Once settled in he made his way to the lounge and took a seat at the table while he waited for take-off.

Issyl awkwardly stared at the boy who appeared in front of her. His hair was wet, and there were beads of water resting on his moist face. His robes were a bit wrinkly and dusty. Despite the display, Issyl couldn't help but smile whole heartedly back at him. She looked back as the pilot droid spoke, but returned her attention back to Leon. "Issyl," she said, pulling out a handkerchief from her pocket "it's good to meet you."

Taking a step forward towards Leon, she wiped his cheek, before grabbing his hand and placing the handkerchief in it. "Feel free to keep it." she said while closing his hand and turning away to walk up the ramp.

She quickly slipped into her room to organize all of her belongings. With everything unpacked and stowed, Issyl changed into some more comfortable clothing. She put on some white sweatpants and an oversized hoodie. They would probably have a long flight ahead of them, and she didn't want to be in her robes the entire time.

Exiting her room, Issyl spotted Leon in the lounge and walked over to him. "This is way nicer than I think either of us expected it to be." She giggled at her own comment before taking a seat across from him. She placed her elbow on the table and rested her cheek within her hand. Her grassy meadow eyes met his golden hazel ones. "So, tell me about yourself."

The two would be able to feel the freighter start up and begin its ascent to the sky.

Issyl, that’s a pretty—” started Leon, before he could finish the thought she stepped forward and gently wiped something from his face. A mixture of embarrassment, for having something on his face in front of a pretty girl, and bashfulness wrestled for control over his expression. The only thing Leon knew for certain was his face was crimson.

She pressed the cloth into his hand and told him to keep it. His brows furrowed, on Adumar giving someone a favor was a sign of desire. The blush on his face deepened, and he managed to squeak, “Th-thanks,” before following her up the ramp.

Sitting in the booth, Leon drummed his fingers across the tabletop. Take it, easy killer, he chided himself, you’re not on Adumar anymore. Realistically you have no idea what kinda customs people followed out here. Her giving you that favor could have been her telling you to go jump off a bridge. Sheesh, don’t be so arrogant, she’s waaaaaay outta your league. And then he saw her heading his way.

Leon sat up quickly and then tried to relax, but it was too late so he had to play it off… and ended up with an arm slung over the back of the booth and a leg pulled up into the seat. That’s how cool people sat, right?

This is way nicer than I think either of us expected it to be,” Leon chuckled, she wasn’t wrong.

I was expecting a ship half this size,” he replied. Issyl took a seat and Leon dared to admire her emerald eyes.

So, tell me about yourself,” she asked.

Leon cocked an eyebrow, “Well, I’m new to the Jedi,” he said with a chuckle. He’d been on Yavin for a few months, but it still hadn’t really sunk in that that was his home. He bit his lip trying to think of the easiest answer to her question.

Wait, are you trying to unlock my tragic backstory?” Leon looked over his shoulder and down the hall into the cockpit. The back of the pilot droid was an odd sight, He wasn’t totally sure he trusted a droid to do his flying, but what was one routine flight to a planet?

Tell you what, let’s play one for one,” Leon hadn’t played this game in years. He sat forward unconsciously mirroring her as he explained the game, “The game is easy, you ask me a question, I have to answer truthfully, but I don't have to be specific or explain my answer.” He sat back trying to think of an example then a smile spread across his lips.

Okay, you want me to tell you about myself,” his grin twisted mischievously as he said, “I’m nineteen, my mother used to call me a cancer, and I’m 1.82m tall.

Leon hoped he was making sense, but the best way to learn a game is to play, so he jumped in.

My turn,” as he started to ask his question he could feel the ship pass through Yavin’s atmosphere and into the void of space’s embrace. A glint of light caught his eye and Leon looked down at her necklace, “Oh, that’s really pretty. What's the story behind your necklace?
