Guild d'lanseaux Armored Suit

Across the entire Galaxy, businesspeople undertake work in the dog-eat-dog world of Corporate powerplays, safe in the knowledge that, should a real knife enter the play, their d'lanseaux suit should keep them reasonably safe. Stylish enough to be worn to a black-tie event (with a change of accessories) or to the corporate board room, the suits come in a range of colours, to suit any need. By default, suits are made with armouring in the jacket of the suit, and, with modifications, they can be even better.

Intended to protect against assassination attempts, and to keep the wearer safe if negotiation or deal goes south, the armour focuses on protecting the torso and back, keeping the vital organs safe. It comes in various sizes, and can be matched with a skirt to boot.

LEGALITY

Armored suits are entirely legal within all known systems.

INTENT

Intent is to make an armoured suit for businessmen-type characters and senators, as there was in previous timelines.

RESTRICTIONS
Certain armour functions will simply not be possible with this 'armour' due to how the main function of the tech is to function as a suit and armour. Because of that, certain functions (those that require full-body coverage or helmets) cannot be equipped with the suit.

Type and Coverage

Type: Light Armor

Coverage:
  • Torso: Segments of armour hidden within the lining of both the jacket and the waistcoat
  • Back: Segments of armour hidden within the lining of both the jacket and the waistcoat

Functions

Function 1: Concealed Blade
  • Concealed blades are typically 4-6 inches in length and lock into place once extended. They are almost always placed along the forearm or boot. They are no substitute for true combat knives as the locking mechanism can break under strong impacts. Still, some people enjoy them as a helpful backup.
Function 2: Mag-Boots
  • Magnetic boots contain electromagnets in the soles and allow for enhanced movement on ferrous surfaces in microgravity or steep gradients. This functionality must be turned on or off manually by a button or switch.
