There was a lot more interest in this a while back. And of course the guild wouldn't be only Europe based, if you'd played MMO's you'd know that.

Cross continental guilds usually don't work either- one side gets left out. A five to nine hour time difference is a big deal- it's been tried multiple times.

It's worked for me a bunch of times in the past, in various MMO's, it's not that big a deal once there's enough people on either side of the pond, not counting late hours and the like. Everytime I logged onto Sunrunner in SWG I was playing with Americans.

Would it be to much to consider creating a poll to take a vote for a guild? Like a poll for which side (Sith/Jedi), a poll for pvp, pve or rp (if rp then decide heavy or light rp)? I may be new but I know how to organize fairly well and if everyone that is interested can come together to make it then it will be far better then one person making it to their standards. Or maybe set up a guild council of 4-8 people who will be like the jedi council in creating the guild. (If no one wants to take my advice but is interested PM me or something and lets talk)

I don't think this is any sort of 'official SWRP guild', just Kaeb's idea. If it was a SWRP guild I'm sure we'd all have input.

Well thats kind of what I am suggesting. I mean having personal guilds between friends is cool and all but why not make an "official SWRP guild"? It would add in a whole new level to an already well thought out community. Add and subtract a little here and there and find people active enough to build it (A council) and boom, you got yourself a new area to role play in.

That was the original idea. The guild that I created was just to nab a name, but names can be changed, the reason I linked to that particular Guild page was to draw attention to the fact they've initiated the Guild Pre-Launch program, to show people here on the forum.

The original idea was everyone on the forum who wanted to play with a guild with people they know and enjoy roleplaying with, could play together in-game. Bac and some of the other Admins didn't like the idea of SWRP having an official guild because it would detract from the main site, which is absolutely right and exactly why this can't be an official part of the forum.

It would have to be an off-shore thing with ties to SWRP. Some business could be conducted here, occasional threads and PM's, but that's really all that would be feasible until another site was created or something else along those lines. I wouldn't have to be any sort of leadership position either, that could all be judged by everyone involved, as would be:

In-Game Alignment.

Class Concentration.

PvE, PvP, RP etc. etc.

Server Choice.

The Guild Name.

Guild Hall Location.

The Site Name, forum etc.

This was to draw attention to the idea, with some cookie cutter placeholder names and other details until they're ultimately decided upon.

Yeah, i've only ever roleplayed with alt characters in an MMO tbh, I'd write up stories and backgrounds for all my characters though. I'd hoped we would end up on a PvP or PvE server. I was hoping the majority of us wanted to be Empire as well.
