Gwin was born in the capital city of Theed, Naboo to an upper class family. Her father, a Theelin opera singer, was essentially an expensive trophy husband for her highly successful human mother. He instilled in Gwin an appreciation for art and architecture, taking her to shows and galleries around Theed from a young age. Her mother, on the other hand, was distant and held little interest in family life. This suited Gwin and her father just fine.
While his wife was away on indefinite business, Gwin’s father busied himself painting, throwing garden parties and collecting antiquities. Gwin grew up running through the antique markets of Theed like a playground. Whatever bizarre knickknack she wanted, her doting father would buy for her. A taxidermy nexu cub, ship models, old military helmets, a kalikori, weird things in jars, you name it.
Since Gwin is half-Theelin, her father attempted to teach her music and dance throughout her childhood. However, her complete disinterest and lack of rhythm caused him to eventually give up. The only Theelin attributes she inherited from him were her brightly colored hair and three-toed hoofed feet.
As a young adult, Gwin attended the University of Theed, majoring in Art History with a minor in Archaeology. Her thesis paper on the ancient ruins left by Naboo’s original settlers earned her a prestigious position at the Royal Museum of Naboo, where she remains employed to this day.
All seemed to be going perfectly for Gwin, until her parents’ untimely divorce. Her mother had moved on to a younger, more attractive side piece, leaving Gwin and her father cut off from the family wealth. The effect was more freeing than detrimental, with Gwin suddenly and furiously embracing her eccentricities. While still working her day job as museum curator, she began accumulating her own collection. She opened up a “speciality antique store” that never seems to sell anything, and is only open at night. In reality, it’s a front her her to purchase and order items from thieves and smugglers.
During the day she can be most often found in her museum office, but frequently leaves the gilded halls to embark on research trips and archaeological digs, as well as to attend art auctions and to meet with antique dealers. A few unimportant artifacts might go missing from each trip, but thus far no one has bothered to notice.

Gwin is eccentric, loud, creative, stubbornly optimistic, and only slightly unhinged, with a wry sense of humor that doesn’t always sit well with her fellow academics. She has a great appreciation for the ”weird,” whether it’s mummified fingers, botched taxidermy, or carnivorous plants. Her dream is to one day open a museum of oddities. She enjoys high fashion and is determined to take advantage of haut couture street wear while she’s still young, before she inevitably becomes a cool old lady with an even cooler but decidedly less sexy fashion sense. In addition, Gwin has an appreciation for abstract art, often pushing the limits at what’s seen as “art” in order to rile up her contemporaries. She once curated a gallery display of nothing but left shoes, in order to watch the nobility pretend they knew what they were looking at.
She has no qualms about receiving rarities from less reputable sources. Poached furs, stolen treasure, a dangerous Sith artifact? No problem, controversy brings crowds!
She is more interested in curation than selling treasures, and typically brings finds back to her hometown of Theed for museum display. Gwin works as a curator and researcher at the Royal Museum of Naboo, specializing in Xeno-Archaeology and Art History. She prefers working in the museum compared to in the field, and spends long hours pouring over artifacts in her temperature-controlled office. She does not enjoy “roughing it” on research trips, and usually reserves a hotel suite or ships in a mobile trailer for particularly rural dig sites. She is usually accompanied by her purebred sheffi, Muchi.
Gwin is fiercely competitive when it comes to her work. Whether it’s at an auction or in the field, her demeanor will turn aggressive in an instant if her goal is threatened. While she comes across as an easy target for treasure hunters, Gwin is a surprisingly good shot with a rifle thanks to taking part in sport hunting and target shooting from a young age (although this is the extent of her combat abilities). Despite her voiced distaste for dirty work, she’s not above it. Quite the contrary. When she’s focused on a goal or feels it’s the best course of action, she won’t hesitate to roll up her sleeves, get waist deep in mud, and shoot up some pirates in order to procure a relic. She’ll complain about the mess, of course, but she secretly enjoys it.
