  • What is going to happen in your plot? The overall intent of the plot is to acquire a Dolphin-Class Passenger Liner. In order to do so, Hal is going to buy a clean transponder off the black market (one thread), slice into maintenance terminal to track incoming vessels and their maintenance needs/history (one thread), and obtain a passenger license and steal the ship (one thread).
  • What other players will be a part of this? I've not talked with anyone at this point. I'm hoping to find a Jedi to assist me through the whole process and gain rapport with a potential master. One or two other GA members may be brought along as well if they desire. I won't be attempting this alone.
  • Where are all the places (if more than one) that your plot will be taking place? Bothawui to obtain the transponder, the rest will probably take place on Cyrillia just inside Imperial space.
  • Please provide a basic in-character timeline of what you expect to happen. Travel to Bothawui and buy a transponder in one evening. Around a week later attempt to slice into a maintenance terminal and after three months (to scout potential marks) obtain a passenger license using real and falsified data. Then immediately steal the vessel from a known mark.
  • What do you or your character hope to achieve with this plot? What is the "end-game"? To steal a Dolphin for my character.
  • Do you need any involvement of canon NPCs or faction leaders to be DMed by a staff member? If so, please detail who/what and for what purpose. I do not require any involvement by faction leaders or NPCs but if the GA faction leader or NPCs want to join me on my quest then so be it.

Side Note: The Dolphin has not yet been approved, I've talked with Auto-Fox and believe it will be approved soon. I'm submitting this now so that I can go ahead and start with my first two threads in the anticipation of the tech being approved by the time I roll around to actually stealing one.

Hey there!

As a rule we don't approve plots for technology when the technology is still not approved

You seem to have three threads listed but how many of them will have opposition? So far the wording suggests only the final one will have opposition and that is not really acceptable
What kind of opposition? Dice, DM, PVP?

PENDING

Understood. I'll post back when it is.

I anticipated having DM opposition for every thread to keep me on my toes and make things more difficult overall. You'll have to define what you mean by opposition. In my mind they all have some form of opposition, either wordsmithing or combat potential. (The second thread is a little weak in terms of opposition, I'll grant you that.) So are you referring to opposition as combat or that you don't see opposition as a whole?

Opposition meaning something that you will have to overcome to succeed. For example;

Is there any reason why he would face difficulties obtaining the transponder? If so then it's opposition. If not then there's no opposition which can he fine for some threads but not for others

If you're just "setting the scene" then there's no need for opposition

If you're getting something that is required to succeed we like there to be some opposition - a chance of failure that needs to be overcome

Got ya, thanks for the clarification. I think the first and last threads will have opposition. Just strolling into a black market and buying goods isn't a fun story in my mind. So I'll want some spice and trial to make a good story and it's just a matter of finding a DM that will make that happen. The second thread, I may come up with something different or in addition to what I have in mind. I don't have any ideas right now for what that is, but since you can't approve it until the tech is approved I have some time to think on it.

Okay I've gotten the ship approved and edited my initial post here. I changed the second thread to make it more "gamey" and have a greater possibility for conflict and critical failure. Let me know what you think and I'll adjust as needed.

Hey there, @Lloyd Gross! You're old. Also, this plot is really neat.

Are you sure you want to aim for DM opposition? Your ship only requires three threads, and that level of opposition or risk is not necessary for a lavish passenger liner with no armaments, low maneuverability and no PvP advantages whatsoever.

Personally? You can stick a third-party DM into one thread and self-DM the rest. I would suggest the last thread, as stealing the ship is the highlight here. Death and capture is very possible with an opposing DM.

In the meantime, everything checks out. So, approved!

Sweet!

Are you sure you want to aim for DM opposition?

From what Nefieslab was saying it seemed like he wanted it to be a bit more difficult. But if you’re okay with it, I’ll self-DM or dice (for random fun) the first two and get a DM for the last one.

Hey there, @Lloyd Gross! You're old.

Your mom’s old...

Sounds good, @Lloyd Gross! Dice is quite fun, I can promise you that, but be sure to keep in mind that new guidelines will be keeping a close eye on how they are properly treated. Then again, I doubt it should be of any consequence to this particular plot.

Also, I take great offense to that. Reported. Plot rejected. Banned.
