THEME
Well he had the big and slugsih overhead class light freighter. It felt like he had been flying a brick when they had left Dressel. Now they were coming out of hyperspace any minute now over Mimban. The authorities back on Dressel had been left without any clue as to their intentions.

The blue tunnel changed to stars streaking and then the planet came into view. "Well I think things about as smooth as they could have gone." That was his way of saying that things could have been worse, maybe. But they had made it off of Dressel with the ship and that was all that mattered.

He got up from the seat and rolled his shoulders, cracking a few joints in the process. "Alright tin man. You have the helm. I gotta take a leak." He turned and headed out of the cockpit.

It took him a moment to realize he had no idea where the bathroom was on this ship. He could have looked while they were in hyperspace but he had not needed to go then. The rebel had just checked on the cargo momentarily and made sure the transision into hyperspace was as smooth as possible. He did not much care for letting the droid do all the work when going from sublight to lightspeed. It always made him feel uneasy, like he was rolling the dice with eternal oblivion.

Now that they seemed to be nearing the end of their venture he had a sense of relief and the chance to actually relieve himself. Finally finding the bathroom he looked at how it could probably use a deep clean but then remembered again, this was not his ship and he was not going to waste time being picky.

"Mister Drast, we have five incoming ships at high speed. They do not appear to be friendly."came the droid's voice over the ships inner communication system. Swearing under his breath the man shook his junk and zipped up his pants before heading up to the light laser turret he had spotted earlier.

Just as he got seated several laser cannon shots wizzed past the ship missing it. "sonofa-" instead of finishing his sentence Brent rotated the turret and pulled the firing studs so that a stream of light laser cannon fire streaked across not one but two enemy starfighters. The first one clipped its wing and spiraled into the second taking the two of them out together. "friggin pirates!"

Arda leaned lazily in the pilot's seat of Brent's ship, one leg hooked over the arm of the seat while her and Tycho traveled through hyperspace, following Brent in the ship they just stole from a port on Dressel. She couldn't bring herself to nap while they headed back to Mimban and instead, she played with some wrench she found laying around, yo-yoing it from her palm to the ceiling or to the floor and back to her palm again. The repetitive motions cleared her mind, her eyes settling on stars that were light-years away listening to the sounds of laughter and almost a voice that sounded like her younger brother. Arda wanted to explore further, feeling a longing to see the face of the laugh, but she was brought back to reality by the chiming of the navi-computer, letting her know they were arriving at their destination.

Forgetting she was balancing a wrench, it clattered on the floor and Arda jumped up in her seat, sitting up straight. She flipped a few switches, acknowledging the computer's alert, "Ok, Tycho, we're coming out of hyperspace..." she said grasping the throttle and pulled it back, the swirl of blue and purple stars settled back in the black matte plain of space. However, the sensors signaled immediately and Arda frowned, Brent brought back company.

"Tycho, I need fire power!" she called out powering the deflector shield, the pirates had yet noticed the additional arrival, leaving the Jedi and the General to take advantage of surprise offense they could spring on the pirates.

Brent wondered where his ship was. Not the one he was flying but his own ship. The vehicle was not exactly helping him take out these starfighters. If they were any good they could take him down in a matter of moments. Gritting his teeth he wondered what his own pilot droid was doing too.

"Get this bucket moving tin man!" He hollered from the turret. But maybe it was because the ship was so bulky and sluggish that one of the enemy starfighters was able to get a fast target lock for missiles. The pilot droid was not meant for combat in most circumstances. The best it could do was simulate avoiding asteroids but that could only do so much.

A warning klaxon went off letting him know a missile was incoming. "Son of a-" He did not get to finish his repeated curse yet again as the concussion missile impacted on the shields of the ship. The whole freighter lurched. The engines were partially damaged and if it were not slow before it was now. "Could use a little help here." He said in an aggravated tone wondering where his wing mate was.

going to try and do evasive maneuvers and avoid a missile lock

Sitting at the controls for the turret. Tycho lazily waited for them to come out of hyperspace, he had familiarized himself with the controls during part of the jump. But as he had done missions similar quite a few times it didn't take much to have to remind himself of what each control is for. Though it didn't hurt to go through a quick self crash course to jog his memory. After the crash course the General simply watched the random ray of colored lights flash past the viewport of the turret. While the man had the chance to catch a small nap he refused afraid that he may be a bit difficult to wake up if he gave into the urge to sleep.

Stretching his arms over his head, resting his hands on the top of the seat. Then Arda told him that they are coming out of hyperspace, "Copy that." He will acknowledge as Tycho quickly straightened himself with his hands on the controls as soon as the ship came out of hyperspace. Pressing the buttons that will give him full use of the turret. Swinging the turret around the criminal will notice that Brent had brought unwanted company back with him. But the star fighters somehow have failed to notice the freighter Arda and Tycho are in.

Just great...

Aiming the turret at a couple of starfighters currently pursuing the other ship. Tycho made sure to have the fighters in his sights before he opened fire on them... Only for the two fighters he was firing at to dodge the shots with ease. Well either he was a bad shot with the turret or the pilots in those fighters are really good. Tycho cursed under his breath as he tried to bring those same fighters back into his line of sight, "I will get them. Hang on!" He will tell Brent as he had the turret follow the fighters for the next round.

They were certainly having the worst luck as Tycho completely missed and it looked like Brent just took a serious hit to his engines. Arda pushed hard on the throttle, sending the ship flying toward Brent's location, the remaining four fighters slowing down as not to plow into the back end of the freighter, they wouldn't destroy it, if they were pirates, they would want to see what was on-board first. The woman grimaced at having to deal with a boarding vessel, "Get ready Tycho, I am going to try to draw them off of Brent!" she yelled as the ship flew past the fighters and over Brent's ship. Though, the plan seemed to work as she wanted to draw some of the fighters away, hoping a couple would stay on Brent's trail, she managed to draw all of them, "Well....kriff..." she grumbled pulling on the throttle, turning the ship to tightly cut across the nose of the ship that Brent was flying as she took it under, pulling all the fighters with her.

Arda swerved the ship, hearing the hull creak under the amount of strain she was putting on the ship in order to keep the blaster fire from causing too much damage as some fire blinked brightly on the outside of the view port. She hit the comm button, hailing Brent, "Hey, lazy, get these guys off us!" she yelled out to him. Arda drew the fighters closer to his ship, pulling them around in order for him to land as many hits as he could to either nail the ships or cause them disperse long enough to give Arda a breather until they reformed and tried dirtier tactics to get the shuttle to comply.

Brenton Drast wondered if he had just pissed some mythological diety off in his passing. Knowing him he most likely had. Then again he probably had done it for promiscuous reasons and would not regret doing it for a moment. Still, it did not help his current situation. Laser cannon shots flew past the overhead light freighter as he did his best to avoid complete obliteration.

Some of the shots he realized were even coming from his own friendlies. "HEY! Watch it Tycho!" He yelled as some of the stray shots towards the star fighters nearly hit him. The man ducked and weaved his damaged ship out of the way until the jedi master was able to draw the attention of the attackers out of the way.

There was one starfighter that was coming in to change targets towards the Jedi master but the defensive light laser cannons on the overhead light freighter was able to land a series of shots on the enemy that made it fall out of commission. While maybe not outright destroyed the pilot knew its ship was too badly damaged to continue fighting and disengaged from the dogfight. That would at least give him some breathing room to reassess and approach from a decent attack vector.

going to have Brent take evasive manuevers to avoid both Tycho's shots and also the enemy shots (rousing success)

With the Jedi Master successfully drawing off all four of the fighters that were locked onto Brent. It put a lot of weight on Tycho to take those fighters out. Or he and the other Rebel will find themselves floating around in space.

Taking a deep breath as he aimed the turret at the four fighters. Doing his best to keep the ships in his line of sight as they buzzed around erratically to keep out of range of the turret. One came in for an attack run. Before it can get any shots off Tycho had the ship torn apart with bolts from the turret.

Then came in the second one that came in at a steeper angle than the first. It was tricky but the General was able to shoot that one to pieces as well.

Catching one coming from the left with his peripheral vision through the viewport. The criminal swiveled the turret around and shot that one down as well before it could get any bolts into the ship. Only one lonely fighter left.

"Only one left. Take it out Brent!" He will tell the younger rebel through the comm. With the fighter still trained on the ship he and Arda are in it should be a fairly easy shot.

The plan to draw off the fighters worked better than she had hoped as they all seemed to group on her tail, Tycho successful shot through three of the four fighters. Arda cheered, "That earned you a drink!" she hollered down the corridor to the turrets where Tycho resided. However, there still flew one fighter left, looking to catch Brent as the sitting duck he basically was in such a piece of junk ship that was almost not worth the trouble of stealing.

Arda pressed on the thrusters shooting the ship forward and then pulling it around to engage the fighter in case its attack or sweep of the ship Brent was flying evaded offense. The fighter must of spotted the freighter coming back around and knowing that his buddies were mercilessly picked off by the crew, they were clearly a real threat. However, if Arda could, she would get the fighter in the cross-hairs of both Tycho and Brent in order to take it out, leaving it in a checkmate situation as they had picked the wrong group of Rebels to steal from this day.

The ship pulled on the tail of the fighter, chasing it back to the Freighter or keeping it so Tycho could catch it if Brent was unable to, though if Arda were that pilot, she may have just chosen to fly back to home base, tail tucked in this failure of a raid.

While Tycho's shots had been cosmically terrible up until recently the Drast witnessed the man take out three starfighters int the blink of an eye. "Now that's what I'm talking about! Way to go!" He cheered before he got the response back to finish off the enemy.

The starfighter banked knowing it was the last of its comrades to survive the dogfight. "That's right you son of a gun I'm going to turn you to slag." Brent said to himself. He did not get to even finish his sentence by the time the enemy pilot depressed their firing studs.

Laser fire danced around the light freighter and a few shots even scored some decent hits on the ship. If the light freighter had needed to leave orbit again perhaps it would have been in trouble but thankfully the ship just needed to land and deliver its cargo to the base on Mimban.

In response to the weapon fire Brent returned in kind. Light laser cannon struck the last remaining enemy. A swath of bright discharge caused the relatively fast but flimsy ship to explode. The light freighter flew around its debris.

He did have to admit that it was one hell of a shot that he did. He took out three of the four fighters that were on their tail. Brent followed up with taking out the last one. Since it appeared that they are in the clear now, the general switched the turret off. There is not point to stay in such a right, small space when there is no more opposition.

With the turret off he climbed out of the small compartment. Making the short walk to the cockpit he took a seat next to the Jedi Master, "Do you think we are in the clear now?" He asked as he started reading the sensors computer for just in case there are surprise visitors that may come to greet them. If that happened he will have to make a mad dash for the turret.

The General looked out the viewport for a second or two to scan of what he can see of their surroundings. Looking back down at the computer he figured that perhaps they are in the clear, "Personally. I think we are. If there are anymore they would have shown themselves by now." He hoped that his assumption was not wrong.

The scanners were silent save for friendly contacts. Brenton smiled, glad that it was over. He got up and moved down the rungs to the cockpit. His droid silent as usual when not trying to be quippy just focused on flying but would get up. "I need to recharge Master Drast." The man would wave him off and take the controls.

A few minutes would go by and the man would let the ship fly towards their landing location. But then a new contact came in. His white knuckles grabbed the controls tighter but saw nothing. Then a large flock of avian creatures came into view. Like, a really big flock. The large ship was too slow to get out of the high speed creature's way and a few pinged off the hull of the ship. The shields were all the way down and would have done little against the birds anyways.

Whatever the birds hit seemed to have been on the cusp of being lost. The overhead plunged down towards the earth. The rising concerned tone of the Drast increasing in volume. "aaaaAAAA!" The ground was rising towards him. Maybe Tycho's sporadic shots had ended up hitting the ship a bit. Whatever the cause the ground was getting close.

Hauling on the controls the ship groaned while Brent cursed at it. He thought he was going to die but he was doing it, making the ship level out. But it was still coming down close to the ground. One tree, two tree tops, a dozen tree tops all snapped in moments and then the ship fell hard into the ground, skidding through acres and acres of land. Eventually the ship came to a jarring hault.

A portion of the dashboard spark. Brent just ran his fingers through his hair and exhaled. The pilot droid came off of its charging station. "Do you require assistance Master Drast." Brent slowly turned and gives him a look that says it was a bit late.

Reaching for the controls he called over to the others. "Yep, don't worry about me. I'm fine. Cargo's ok I think. Ship won't fly again though most likely. Someone come down here and pick me up....please." With that said he sat back in the pilots seat. That had been terrifying.
