Happy Days Are Here Again (On Jakku)

The Empire has sprawled across the galaxy, consuming all in its path. It has grown large and bloated, pushing against the borders of the followers of the Light. Imperial reach has spanned out all the way to the remote planet of Jakku. The jungle world is not considered to have much importance. It has no vital resources, no large settlements, and little value. There is very little near Jakku. However, the nearest planet is of tremendous importance to the Order. Jedha is only a short hyperspace jump from Jakku. The Jedi Council fears the Empire could use Jakku as a staging area to assault the new Jedi homeworld of Jedha. Of equal importance is the Jedi Order’s commitment to bringing hope to the galaxy. The Council is determined to not let borders stop their humanitarian efforts. It is dangerous for Jedi to venture into Imperial space, but this has not stopped most Jedi from taking that risk. It is critical the people of the galaxy be reminded the Jedi are still fighting for them and they have not been forgotten. This means aiding those trapped under Imperial reign, no matter the cost, no matter the risk.

Don’t Rain On My Parade

Jakku does not have many large settlements. Most are small and created out of necessity to survive the harsh desert climate. One of Jakku’s larger settlements serves as the Imperial hub on the planet. The local Imperial authority has taken to holding monthly “parades” to inspire Imperial pride on the fiercely independent citizens of Jakku. Once a month, the Imperial garrison roles through the settlement streets trumpeting the power of the Empire. Citizen are required to attend. It is time to put a stop to this perverted show of Imperial strength. Disrupt the parade however you can, and show the people of Jakku they are not alone. Remind the Empire they are opposed. Remind the Empire the Jedi still fight. Bring hope to the people of Jakku by raining all over the Imperial’s parade. Note: You may command a group of non-FS soldiers, and other Jedi to accomplish this mission. However, the PVP rules regarding NPCs still apply. PARTICIPANTS: 2-3 Jedi, Open Thread @Fyston

Jakku’s close proximity to Jedha gives the Empire a unique advantage in monitoring the Jedi stronghold. It has come to the Council’s attention that the Empire is establishing a long range listening post to monitor Jedha. It is critical this listening post is not brought online. The Jedi’s movements around Jedha must remain as hidden as possible. Jedha serves as the hub of the Order and the staging area of many military operations. The Council cannot take a chance with any Imperial intelligence operations this close to home. A group of Jedi is being dispatched to prevent the establishment of the listening post. Destroy the equipments and stop the Imperial agents in anyway possible. PARTICIPANTS: 2 -3 Jedi, Open Thread @Vosrik @Shalken @Vinn Esper

Papa, Can You Hear Me?

Due to the presence of Jedi currently on Jakku, doing various tasks and missions, they have found an extremely force sensitive child. The young one was discovered alone in a small abandoned village, making a half-decent living. Of course, the planet is not known for its forgiving nature. Survival is difficult, and a challenge to sustain. Especially for someone so young. This reasoning led to the Jedi making a collective decision to give the child a better chance at life. The Jedi decided to bring the child to Jedha. Everything was going as anticipated, until the youngling went missing. Because of the Imperial presence on Jakku the Jedi were forced to move on from their current mission, the responsibility of tracking down the child has been passed to another group of volunteers. Whether the youngling ran away, or merely got lost, is to inevitably be discovered. Either way, it's the Jedi's responsibility to deliver the child to the Order's footsteps. Jakku has always been a diverse planet with various structures of cultural groups. Many different people, and species inhabit the desert world in clusters that make up the planet's towns and small cities. This sways from religious groups, to more questionable forms of recreation. Of course, law enforcement barely exists within the desolate deserts of Jakku. This leads to acts of crime that are orchestrated on a grand scale, with relative ease. The Jedi have just taken notice of a mass increase in spice being being traded around the Southeast side of the planet. It is believed that a certain ring of spice traders have actually risen to power through the demands of their own business, and the people around them. This poses a a threat to the surrounding natives, because they are rapidly getting sucked into the market themselves. It is the responsibility of the Jedi to find the figureheads of the organization, and put an end to the vicious cycle. This will preserve the well being of the individuals involved. (IC Note: Vosrik wouldn't have been "sent" on the mission, but will be joining the others who were assigned to. This will be the first time anyone from the Order will have seen Vosrik for the last five years.)

I guess I'll throw Xene in to rain on some parades. I should probably finish updating his profile.

Hey @Vinn Esper, would you be able to start the thread please? Doesn't need to be super elaborate, it would just make a little more sense story-wise if Vosrik and Shalken arrived after Airen did. :)

I read that as you asking me to be the bait. I currently have three or four other threads to respond to before I start a new one. However, of it isn't already up by then, I will do it.

Papa is complete (or very nearly complete, subject to @Caramon)
We have rescued the force sensitive child and recovered a dark artefact that was drawing him into an underground cave/temple. Caramon's idea was that it might be one of these: http://www.thestarwarsrp.com/forum/index.php?threads/concentration-crystals.70693/ but we have left it sufficiently ambiguous. Caramon also appears to have some kind of bond with the child.

I would love it if I could follow up with RP with a member of the council/general concerning the artefact and I'm sure Caramon would similarly like to explore the bond - particularly as the mission does not contribute in terms of territory, I would be keen to contribute in terms of story, if that makes sense?

Cheers

Awesome! We can probably do a short debrief thread, not with the full Council (too many people), but maybe one or two of us.
