As Hal and his two companions made their way along the Wookiee settlement's winding pathways, the Knight couldn't help but muse that despite being hundreds of feet above sea level, the air was still thick and humid. Thankfully, he'd had the foresight to avoid wearing his traditional Jedi robes - which would've been drenched with sweat by this point - and instead wore a simple white tunic alongside the usual Jedi apparatus. His lightsaber, typically holstered at his hip, was discreetly tucked into the back of his utility belt, where it wouldn't interfere with his range of motion.
Em-One, however, had taken his usual perch on Hal's shoulder, and was chirping contently in Binary as if mimicking birdsong. Even if Maiko didn't understand what the droid was saying, it was easy for one to tell that the little scout droid possessed an unusually prominent positive attitude - which was in stark contrast to the unreadable atmosphere surrounding Hal himself.
As if suddenly becoming cognizant of his demeanor, Hal cleared his throat and glanced over towards his padawan accomplice. At a very initial glance, Maiko seemed to be a kind-hearted, gentle kid - but then again looks could be deceiving. Hal himself was barely older than the padawan, but something about his aura suggested maturity beyond his years. Not darkness - but a weight nonetheless. However, that weight evaporated when the Knight shot the padawan an easygoing grin.
"I hear you're somethin' of a healer kid." Hal nodded in approval before turning his head back to the path ahead. His voice was laidback and confident, but youthful too. "That's good. The Order could always use more people like you. I can't say I'm much of a healer myself. Who knows? Maybe you'll end up teaching me a thing or two." Em-One chirped in agreement. "I'm Hal, by the way, Hal Mikko. Don't think I ever formally introduced myself. And my friend here -" he pointed to the diminutive droid, who waved one of its tiny appendages in greeting, "is Em-One. How 'bout you kid, what's your name?"
Technically Hal knew Maiko's name - it wasn't as if the Order had sent him into this mission completely blind - but it was always a good idea to form some camaraderie before the work started. After all, he had a feeling this was gonna be a long day...
