HISTORY:

  • Usually, the Jedi's mentors tell the story of a legendary battle, in which the Empire was faced by the reemerged Rebel alliance. They love talking about the past, what happened several decades ago, they specialize in talking about a "Death Star", but they neither talk about the dead civilians or the heroes. Many would just jump and tell the name of the battle, but most of the normal persons of the universe would remain in their curiosity. Yes, of course, I'm talking about Yavin.

In the year 993 after the conflict I was born. My parents were always very poor people and they worked for a great corporation, while in exchange they provided a house for us. They were brought to Coruscant from his outer rim planet, so they didn't talked the galactic basic. For that I spoke Huttese before the basic. They worked a lot, all the five days of the weeks, and I only may see them in the afternoon of Benduday, but it depended of the will and state of humor of the corporation owners. I remember how they liked to tell old stories and create fictional things to entertain me. This may sound like a cliche, we were poor, buy we had our love and affection. Although we had a strong bond and love between us, I passed almost all my birthdays alone while I waited as a gift seeing them with me in such a important ritual of my life. I don't have to tell the others day of my life. That was just panic.

I deliberated if I needed a change of life, until I was sure that it was imperative. On my birthday number 10 I escaped, leaving a note in the apartment describing the situation. I memorized that scene for my lifetime. The always dark room, the lonely table with the two broken chairs and a note of the worst quality paper with some touches worth of a child. One companionless tear slided through my cheek and then it made his adventure to the battered floor of metal. No sounds around me, no one to take the charge of that pain with me, I was independent for the very first time in my life.

I lived in the poorest side of the city-planet Coruscant. Even the light of Coruscant Prime didn't wanted to light that poverty nest, and the great leaders of the planet gave the reason to that, constructing a series of skycrapers all around the district, with long bridges and balconys to inhibit our eyes of the sunlight. I personally hated the kind of people that wanted that, though not in a violent way. I wanted to do a lot of things to bring closer the aristocrats and the proletariat together, as a family. Why not? We were of the same species, our bodies were equal and only the money and reputation was the breach. Of course that there was no form to make the breach nothing more than a space of sharing. I knew that forever, but I didn't wanted to accept it as part of my arrogant human nature.

In order to ascend from darkness to the top of the planet, I needed to to a lot of work cleaning my image and working for food. I had on my mind the idea of converting into a sort of artist or something like that, but the breach to the top was still too wide to be crossed just in a jump. I started to work in the lower level of Coruscant, cleaning the speeders of rich people and diplomatic people. I knew a lot of that, including the secrets to reach success from stealing and persuading people, but my sense to know what was bad and wrong finally leaded me into the path of the hard work. That hard work was not good saw by the local gang and the bad persons, envious of my success, who attacked me and took all my money and physical things. It was not the money what I really felt on my heart as a loss, but the feeling of working months to loss anything in seconds. A normal person maybe would attack them and steal as them to win again all, but I was the exception.

Aware of the dangers of the zone I bought a ticket to rise to a middle level of the social status ladder. It was fairly more beautiful, but there was not the possibility of working in anything, with the fear of being branded as a person of a low social status. I entered to work in a bar, where I learned to speak the basic, cleaning tables after the party's. I will not lie, I watched the Twi'Leks dancing on tables for fun. Well, I had all the day to do things different from working, and there I meet with a weird person, a Jedi. He was conscious of a power on me, what he called The Force, and he wanted to take me to another planet, to train me.

I distrusted the story of the man and I told him that I wanted to keep working in Coruscant, but he really wanted to take me. Reluctant to accept the existence of the Force, I asked the Jedi to demonstrate the Force on his magnitude. He, elegantly, extended his hand to a crate that was used by me as a locker and immediately lifted it through the air, moving it inside down and left to right without touching and without even concentrating on the work. I smiled, but I was not going to enter something just for the power gave to me and I demanded a explanation about the beliefs, rules, codes or philosophy that the called force users had. He requested to meet me at the night of the same day in the number 290 starport of Coruscant, just above my head, literally. Doubting, I went to the port.

I tried to present to the meeting with my best clothes, but I only had a pair and it was not more than robes used by others before me. I went to the reunion at the requested hour, and the Jedi Master recognized immediately me, shaking my hand and smiling. He leaded our path to a sort of cargo ship were we sat and he started to explain in detail what was the Jedi Order.

Enchanted by the story, I accepted finally his proposition, and in the same day we started our journey to Tython.

"His ability to handle with such a facility the learning of the lightsaber art and complement it with a few Force powers is just incredible. But he doesn't seeks power or a capacity to attack, instead he wants to defend, to create the perfect defense..."

I was certainly eager to begin my training, but I said to myself stop. I needed to comprehend and meditate the philosophy of the Jedi before just going and using what was really dangerous and probably would hurt myself before doing something well. Seeking wisdom I made my way to the holobook shelfs on the Jedi archives and I took "The Way", a book that introduced himself as the guide through the Jedi pillars, mantras and codes. Smiling, I took the book and I sat in a seat separated from the normal ones. If I was going to do the basics, it was an obligation to do it well without distraction.

My life during almost a month was based to that book. I could easily finish it in three or four days, but comprehending it demanded all my attention and a sort of separation from the other ones. I presented every day for a 30 days, from the morning until the sleep hour. It was a stance in hell, though I started to create a new kind of thought inside my mind, it was called the Way, and it reigns until today.

Of course that cultivating an entirely made of patience and wisdom way was not reachable in a month, it was my start to.

My mentors said that I was too prepared to be a Youngling, almost to a suspicious level. After some days, a Jedi Knight selected me as his tutelage, his first one, and we started instantly our journey bonded, like brothers, like son and father, like friends. Our first trip was to the planet Hoth, where we entered a cave and we kept living for a week there without more than the ship and a lot of knowledge to share. He started to share with me what was his point of view of the Jedi philosophy, how he took it and how it saw the Order in that moment. He had his truth, but mine was different. While he wanted peace without a real view of what was the war, I had my own intention and the why of. However, that made us confidents. Soon after, he and I traveled to a lot of planets, until we settled a sort of camp in the Tython forests.

He said that the Jedi had a special link with the planet and he told me histories of that, some were really interesting and others were just epic. But most than all, we needed to concentrate in starting my training.

The knight told me one night that there were seven sword forms that used lightsabers and he listed it. Almost all sounded interesting, but I felt directly enchanted with one that was not a form, yet it was interesting. Jar Kai.

"One attack can hurt you, yes. But a defense can counter the attacks, and the perfect defense can made you invincible. Form III is the demonstration of that."

Searching to continue the training, me and my master traveled all around the galaxy searching the perfect place for every lesson. I could count 34 lessons in total, in more than a year. We were like brothers. I made my first lightsaber, the only one that I have crafted, I learned the basics and the average knowledge of the Vaapad, I implemented them in friendly duels against him. But in the middle of a mission, the destiny changed forever.

We were in the jungle planet Kashyyyk. We had know some wookiee tribes and we participate on a ritual with them, but my master said that the hour to sleep was near and know we had to search a place to camp. Few kilometers from Chenachochan we made our camp, aside a river. We were preparing the things to sleep when a dark man appeared, without identifying or giving words to us. The man, who I could feel had a power superior to mine and my master's, so we engaged in a combat against him. I have never passed through another situation like that, when I thought I was dying with my master, when my life tried to escape from my body, but... I survived.

After sometime without successful efforts to attack the man, my master told me that we were going to lose. As ever, I said that it was not our time to die and we kept on fighting until he obligated me to escape to the tribe. Again, no. We continued fighting until the shadow man wounded my abdomen, doing several wounds, and I lost all my energy. Then, my master sacrificed his life for me. Using his arrogance he could lead the man to inside the forests, leaving me alone and wounded.

    I never saw him again.

It was the second time that I lost a father. His loss entered deep onto my feelings, but I had success recovering the calm and continuing my journey through the Way. When I returned to Tython I felt the great loss a lot and I sort of stopped my training. I didn't even wanted to get out of my room. But later, reading the holobook that I had, my rhythm of training and my enthusiasm appeared again, and I started to train again.

My motivation was there. I wanted to become a Jedi Guardian in a future to honour my now dead master, but I was too old to be taken again by a master and they had fear of me falling onto non-Jedi practices, so again I entered the younglings clans to seek training. It was a bit weird, considering that I was almost 16 years old and most of them were 9 to 10 years old, but that was the a detail, and I could train my comrades in the philosophy Jedi.

My mentors were impressed, but it was only the thing that I needed to do. Only seeing the kids with their eyes, concentrated and fascinated, was the price to pay. I kinda entertained myself doing that. I remember how it was when they were taken by masters and I was left alone in the clan. But I knew that they were going to arrive new kids in a few moments. But it was not the same don't having a master, so I presented to the Council.

Fearless, I entered the chambers. Gorgeous and sacred chambers. There were five Jedi, everyone with his own role in the council, and they looked serene. I approached to them slowly, with short step, until I got a few meters from the center of the great five. I knew that I was being judged by them in every moment, so I had acquire an attitude of calm and I almost not moved during all the process. Then, I pronounced for the first time in my life to them.

"...You are a great Jedi, I feel it. You have a great valor and your feelings tell that you want to be a Jedi. But you are too old to be trained like a normal padawan and we don't have a lot of special masters, and I'm sure that they don't want to have you under his tutelage..."

I nodded to the Council and I left the room. The age was not really a problem, at least to my point of view. I didn't trusted the council and I took my important things and I left the Jedi Temple to meditate in the near forest. I was frustrated, I could not demonstrate that I meet the requirements, so I was decided to train more.

It was the weirdest month that I passed in all my life. I started to comprehend all the Jedi philosophys and codes with such a great facility, my training started to get harder and I was able to pass it. My knowledge of Vaapad started to increment and my force skills were now easier
to do, so I started to meditate with the aid of it. I remember how, in the last day of the retirement, I closed my eyes and I felt how I was surrounded by strangers, but they looked as Jedi's. I started to talk with them and I acquire a lot of knowledge from them. They intended to lead my path to the temple, and I accepted.

I saw them until I got to the temple hallways. Then, in seconds, they disappeared, converting in one with the ambient. Then, I got the reason of why they appeared to me, they believed on me. I smiled and I walked to my room to start my strategy, trying to convert myself into a Jedi Knight.

I knew that the way all but easy and fast.

I presented again to the Council, decided to find a master able to train me, and against all prediction they sent me into a mission to see if I was capable of call me a Jedi. They sent me to Anchorhead, where I was going to settle diplomatic relations with a independent faction of bounty hunters. The called "Desert Assassins"

I took a trip inside a shuttle of cargo to Tatooine and I disguised as a normal, poor civilian of the desertic planet. I could not disguise even myself in front of a mirror. I arrived to Bestine, where I started to search a capable person offering to take me to Anchorhead, now an abandoned city. I went to a famous bar, but my appearance instantly got for a me a bad reputation among the civilians and smugglers of the cantina, so I didn't got nothing in first instance.

I went out of the place and I got the indications from a merchant to get to the low status zone of the capital. For only a few credits a man took me there, so I approached to a cantina that looked abandoned. Inside, it was not different. A lot of persons were entertaining himself and doing non legal deals, but it wasn't my job, for now, avoid those. After sometime a girl presented me to a fat man, that offered a speeder trip to Anchorhead for 100 credits. I accepted, reluctantly.

The speeder was old and it did a lot of sound when he moved through the dunes of the planet, so it was not a good journey. Then, the man departed from the city and I was, again, alone. The city that a lot told was beautiful, in the desertic terms, on his good age didn't even looked as something. Well, there were some people that looked very weird and gangs, but no more. I slipped into the abandoned building until I got to the limits of the city with the desert, from where I was going to sail to the base of the wind assassins.

It was not too far away and I was in the entrance of the hideout and two guys took me to the principal room of the complex, where I was going to meet the leader. The mission was told to be pacific and capable of doing with only two padawans, but it was a trap.

Seeing how there were ten hunters and the leader, I knew that it was not a real chance to get diplomatic relationship with those. In a movement, they took their weapons and they tried to take me as hostage, but my will was not intended to be broken. I took my hand to my lightsaber and I pressed the on button, making immediately a beam of light, blue light. The chances to loss were not more than the chances of win, and I had to do it well to win.

With only a second within the draw of the saber, the sound of the blasters inundated all the ambient of the room. I smiled while I jumped aided by the Force to the position of the leader, who had a blade made of an unknown metal. He had a mastery with his sword, I could say that he was a proficient master in one to one combat, and he started to attack me with only violent slashes. As I knew, I standed with my lightsaber until he got fatigue and I did a simple slash through the sword, breaking it, and I took the leader, incapacitated. The others were not such a big problem because they had normal blasters that tended to fail. I took all of them, without any wound on them, to the Order. But I sensed something.

While I was walking to Anchorhead with my hostages, I felt something dark near me.

Leaving them in a abandoned building, I took my lightsaber and I clipped it into my belt, disguised again as the poor civilian. The force guided me to rocky mountain that was aside the city, and I watched finally the darkness on all the magnitude that it deserved. A Sith.

The Sith, who had a captive young woman, looked big. He had a mask on his head and robes as black as the darkness itself. He was yelling to the defenseless woman, so I jumped to his position and I pushed the Sith several meters from me and the woman.

    I swear that he laughed.

The dark man looked at me as he draw his red beamed lightsaber, lighting it without doubting. I saw his mask and I draw my saber, putting it in the opening stance of the Vaapad. He leaped at me with his saber trying to slash my body, but I knew that maneuver so much to be beaten by.

I did a deflecting slash, that successfully moved the man some meters from me. I could feel how the man used his feelings to make momentum and try to attack me, but I was to serene to be defeated, and more with my knowledge of the Vaapad.

Then, the man tried to approach me and he started to slash all over myself, on my left, my right, my arm and my head, specially in the last. But with the deflecting slashes I was able to deflect and win some serious advantage, and finally the man left his weaker point with no defense.

I lunged fast his chest, giving him an fast, painful for seconds, death. He felt on his knees, and he looked at me for a last time, after finally dying. My weapon now had blood, it was dirty. It was a bad situation that had an impact on me.

Now I knew how easy was taking a life, and how easy could be for others to take mine. It was the time to grow up.

I returned with the woman, who was a Jedi padawan lost on a trip, to Tython, were I was received with honor. The council wanted to gave me a prize for all what I have did, but I was too young for most of all, so I earned only the respect and an special tutor to teach me in the deepest things that I could learn.

We started to do some missions of non importance and we discovered my facility to use force sense and other powers. But it was on my 20 birthday when I was commended to do an alone a trip to a cave in Illum. I had to look for some secret treasure or memorabilia from the times of the Order 66, so it was a pretty nice mission, easy and fast to do.

I traveled again in a ship, but now in a particular one from the order. Then I started to look for the cave, but I was not given any information in specific about the location of the cave. I went to a Jedi temple abandoned century's ago and I started to meditate. I could not see anything with my ability of force sense and I was blind and alone in a planet. But my instinct leaded me to a cave near the place where I sensed something unusual.

I moved blind inside the darkness of the breach that separated the temple from the crystal cave and I saw a paradise of crystals of all the colors that possible existed. But there was a machine, giant machine, activated and ready to attack me. It seem to be a old droid used for the defense of the place in a era that happened millennium's ago. But it was weird to see one, specially one that obsolete.

I took my lightsaber and I started to run around the mechanic figure, until I got him jumping to his leg. But when I tried to cut it my lightsaber shut off. His armor was made of a unusual metal that incapacitated my saber, so I needed to defeat the machine without it.

The machine was slow, but it had a great constitution and strength capable of kill me in a move. My dexterity was fairly more than the machine one, but the only thing that was capable of made me win was my wisdom and intelligence to make a move.

I got almost ten meters from the machine and I waited for him to got near me. The cave was small and the ceiling stretched more when one was near the walls. I yelled at it, until I got his attention and he started to move to me.

As I have planned, the machine crashed with the ceiling and he destroyed his top part, where the central circuits were, and now he was deactivated. I started to search my lightsaber, but it was destroyed by the stomp of the machine. But I had no idea of where I were...

I was on the crystal cave of Illum!

And more expected me. A Jedi appeared from the entrance, one of the masters that had said no to me, and he congratulated me for passing my test for the knighthood. Of course that I didn't had the knowledge of that, and I was puzzled. But after some minutes I discovered that the machine was the test, and the treasure didn't really existed. But now I needed a lightsaber, and making one to celebrate was perfect...

Taking one crystal that I thought was perfect for me, a pontite crystal of blue color. I took all the broken pieces of his saber and i tried to repair them. Next, I started to meditate and I started to assemble the saber with help of telekinesis crafted his "Justice", a saber ornamented with an sentinel lightsaber hilt.

I sensed, shortly after converting into a Jedi, the darkness cloak taking the control of the Galaxy, killing every pinch of Justice, destroying what we have been doing during all our history. Now, I had a real motivation: Eradicating the Dark.

I like it. Nice work.

Considering your location, I'm guessing English is your second language?

It is.

That's why I have some (lots) of grammatical, syntax and a long list of errors.

It's no big deal. Honestly I've seen a lot worse writing from people with English as their first language, so you've done really well in my books.

A thought though - why don't you play on that, and make it so Common isn't your character's native language? Make him a native Huttese speaker or something first, and then any grammar errors you make will fit into your character?

I take Huttese, small changes in story for that. Thanks Ranger!
