Hey, Star Wars RP!
I just wanted to introduce myself to hopefully a new group of friends in a universe I'm excited to be a member of; I've read through most of the threads and understand there is a timeline shift on the way, so I'm not sure if I should pursue a character now or wait until Dawn of the Republic has made its way onto the websites official timeline.
But, I'm interested in playing a few characters.
I guess I'll let everyone know a little bit about my RP or/and Star Wars experiences.
I'm fairly new to the Star Wars universe, having only seen the films this past December. I started off watching the prequel trilogy, then the main trilogy and to finish it all off I saw 'The Force Awakens' on the 21st of December. Yeah, I know, it wasn't release day but watching the films first delivered the final convincing blow to see the new movie.
While I can't say the new movie was my favorite, I did enjoy it.
Actually, now that I think about it, the movies really aren't my favorite from this universe. Since December, I've... binge watched The Clone Wars so much that I'm obsessed with the idea of having a Jedi Padawan for a master (and sort of depressed because I've finished it). I realize that they're probably among the most popular characters to have (Jedi or Force Sensitive characters in general) but I have to admit - admitting that takes some pressure of the chest. I don't know why, but I've been really wanted to write a connection like that.
Though I'm new to Star Wars, I'm not new to text based role plays. I've role played in various universes like Halo, Mass Effect, Stargate (SG1 is the best, obviously, right?) and Star Trek. My main area of experience is with ballistic gunfights or in space as a warship commanding officer. I'd typically play a Marine in a Halo setting, or perhaps an Admiral as well. In Mass Effect I was typically a Turian dreadnought skipper and Stargate was mostly a BC-304 commander.
Star Trek I was a mere red shirt, yes, my character died (That's what they're meant for, right?).
I'm looking forward to joining the website. :)
