Rex offered Jade a hand and the two climbed into his very own space cruiser. Night eyes followed, lithe and relaxed finding a spot in the ship's galley and curling up next to his master. Rex sat at the helm and soaked in the moment. Then, flipping switches on the navigation board, he said,
"Space Dock, 778 dash Z, this is Consular Vessel, The Swift. We are outbound for Illum. Requesting permission for departure."
A human voice rang clear through the comms, "Swift, this is SD 778Z, field is down, you've been cleared for departure. Have fun out there."
And looking back at his new Jedi companion, Rex smiled. "I think we just might, 778, we just might..."
From the space dock, Rex and Jade sped out into the galaxy. Illum awaited.
