So, this one was descended from a Sith. That perhaps shed some light on why they had been directed to him. Whatever had led to their meeting, it didn’t mean much to him now. They had accepted his offer. If this Sith hopeful could pass one simple test, he would be willing to take them in for training.

Good, but you must pass one simple test before I agree to bring you with us. I need you to show me that you can use the force. Even something basic will suffice. Let me demonstrate.” He stepped back and looked over to a large rock. Reaching out towards it, he used the force to lift the rock and levitate it towards himself. Bringing it closer, he then gently lowered it to the ground. “I don’t expect you to lift such a large object. Just something small. Like those small rocks there.” He gestured over to some small stones on the ground. “The force is a tool to be used. But, in order to control it, you must utilise your aggressive feelings. Focus on your anger and frustration. Perhaps a single memory that particularly angers you. Channel that rage and reach out towards the rocks. Those rocks belong to you. When you compel them to move, they will move.

Anger and frustration, a concept that Gemini knew well, as did he know all of his emotions better than most. Beneath the persona he usually gave out, lived a being whom accepted and laid out his emotions for only him to see. He thrived in them, he cherished them, he lived in them. He smiled as he turned his mind's eye toward the small pebbles that laid in the lineage of the trinity, flat but triangular in positioning. He focused his mind, just as he had done before when he let his mind wander across the realm of reality, and like with his sight, he grasped at the Force with intent to bend it to his own. And yet, nothing happened.

So he tried Thel's suggestion. He turned his eye inward, focusing not upon the feeling of anger and rage, but to the root of it in hopes that the key laid within. And that is where he found it, buried and discarded like trash of another lifetime, an emotion so primordial that it rested deep within his subconscious. The root of his anger, the core of his hatred, the abyss of his darkness. Tatooine.

His home lit aflame, the cries of his puney voice calling for his mom, as the fire blazed uncontrollably. Memories of the moment hazed by the mind's attempt to block it as he shoved his way through the mental block he had placed there. A crimson Saber standing out amongst the dunes, his father's cyan illuminating his parents as the Force became their battleground and sand returned to glass. Deeper Gemini delved, no longer focused on the memory, but of the moment its self. Clarity came next as his Father's lifeless form fell and his small hand reached out, and in the end, death came for both his mother and his Uncle.

Outside his form, however, tears streamed down his face as his focus deepened. But that too would evaporate as the air around him began to heat up and humidify around him. The three pebbles would begin to glow red with heat before melting into blobs of molten rock. And as hatred fully engulfed him, the cloth of his armor would catch flame as would the skin of his fists and feet his eyes open and an earth shaking roar would bellow from his lungs. And yet, his bellow was more than a simple uncomprehensible tone. It spoke of his hatred. Or more so, what began its festering. It was one resounding word. "SITH!"

And in that moment of utter exhaustion and pain, unconsciousness took him.

Thel watched as the prospective Sith struggled at first. He was willing to be patient. If they could lift the rocks, he would be willing to let this Sith hopeful come with him and Param.

As they began to concentrate, he could feel their anger grow. He didn’t know exactly what they were thinking about, but the intensity of their feelings soon became apparent.

To his surprise, tears began to stream down their cheeks. He wasn’t accustomed to seeing tears. He couldn’t remember ever crying. Gradually, the air grew hotter. He stood and watched, an impassive look on his face. The rocks were soon reduced to molten and they began to burn into the ground. He didn’t react, even when they let out an almighty roar and their clothing caught fire.

They collapsed to the ground, the exertion clearly having exhausted them. “Well, that was certainly…interesting,” he commented to Param. “I only asked him to lift the rocks. Not to set himself on fire.” He looked down at the unconscious man. “Anyway, take him back to the ship Param. He’s earned a chance to prove himself.
