It was a bad day for Gio Liam. First, as he was on his way to his job as a security guard for some secretive organization, it began to rain like crazy and he was caught unprepared. The rain soaked him to the skin, forcing him to run to the warehouse that he had guarded so he could change into the spare uniform he kept in the security booth there, for emergencies like this. However, as he arrived, he learned that his services would no longer be required after the end of the week, since this organization would no longer need the warehouse and was already in the process of removing the containers to a cargo ship. This was bad, since he really didn't have another job and his resume was terrible. Chances were, once he was out of a job here, he'd be out of a job for a while.
Sighing, Gio continued to look at the screens in his security booth when suddenly, the entire east perimeter cameras went offline. It must have been another short circuit. Whatever this organization was, they really must have thought that they could get away with using low quality cheap cameras and electronic circuit breakers for things like this. Because of the horrible quality of these circuits, they always shorted out after the rain. Looking out the window, he sighed with resignation. At least the sun was out, so he didn't have to touch potentially live electronics in the rain. With a sigh, he stood up and left the security booth.
As Gio walked to the broken circuit breaker, he passed a collection of shrubs and bushes. He noticed what appeared to be a red leaf out of the corner of his eye. It was quite peculiar, since he had never seen the trees turn colour at this time of the year, but he gave it little attention. He continued until he was out of the shrubs, unaware of a pair of eyes tracking his movements, a savage grin forming on the figure's mouth.
As Gio rounded the corner of where the door with circuit breaker was, he immediately noticed a problem. The handle with a good portion of the door still attached laid on the ground, the piece was clearly cut open. He drew his blaster pistol and suddenly pulled what was left of the door open, yelling as he did. "Freeze!"
Gio was about to finish the rest of his line, but scene before him was truly puzzling. He processed it for a second before speaking out loud, vocalizing his opinion on the scene before him in the manner in which a man of his education level could do so. "...what?" He rubbed his eyes again before looking at the scene once again. The circuit breaker was right in front of him, a good meter of the ground, though the face of the circuit breaker had clearly been wrenched off. By what was apparently a fairly strong person judging by the damage to it. However, that was not the puzzling part. No, the truly puzzling part was the fact that there was a dead cat was biting onto the wire.
Now Gio wasn't an animal expert, but he was sure that cats did not bite wires, nor were they capable of wrenching the face off a metal circuit board suspended a meter above the ground. He was also sure that they didn't use tools either. He let his gun hang at his side as he scratched his head in confusion. In the silence, he became aware of a quiet noise that was gradually getting louder. As he concentrated on it, he realized that it appeared to be the sound of someone or something running towards him.
As Gio realized what everything meant, he spun around, raising his blaster pistol as he did. However, he was far too slow thanks to the fact that he had spent two minutes staring at a dead cat and the last thing he saw was a redheaded women smashing a very big revolver into his face. As the world went black, he became vaguely aware of the fact that he could now ask for hazard pay without fear of retaliation. That would be enough to cover a years rent on his home. He smiled one last goofy smile before he passed out.
Rosa Feraan smiled as the security guard crumpled. She was quite happy with the fact that it had work and was actually half expecting for the plan to fail. Had the security guard been more trained, he would've raised the alarm instead of standing around and staring at the dead cat for two whole minutes. Still, she shouldn't question fate or destiny, lest they decide that they weren't entertained enough and think that adding a dozen or so more guards would be much entertaining.
After kicking the guard in the side a few times to ensure that he was truly out cold, Rosa called out to Roran. "'ey Roran! My plan worked! Ah told ya it would work~!" She looked at the warehouse before her, wondering how she'd be able to retrieve her package. The building was easily three stories tall and was pretty big from what she could see. The entire thing took up a whole block in the industrial area and had no high vantage points in the area around him. She looked at her datapad once again before calling out to Roran again. "Come on Roran~ Let's get goin' 'fore whatev'a group that owns this 'ere building find out that we knocked out a guard an' is currently tryin' ta break inta their storage building. Ah don't think they'll appreciate that."
