While she had been saying swimming pool, Wurfuhlla took it to heart and canon balled right in. This giant fur baby loves the water and is showing so by playing in it. The water source was a large body of water about five feet deep.

The Wookiee had planned for something scary. This was something completely opposite of what he expected. No worries, Wurfuhlla would make the best of this.

“Master! Come in the water is great!!”

The Wookiee was laughing and enjoying his time. Would his master? She seemed to have the personality to do so but then again she’s his master so maybe she’d tell him to get out.

The scent of the water was pure refreshing. It was pretty clear as well. Almost had a glow in the cave. Could have just been the sunlight reflecting though.

Vayla was about to quiz her Padawan on some random teaching or the other when he suddenly leapt out of nowhere and into nowhere. “WUR!” She yelped, completely caught off guard. He had apparently seen or sensed something that his master had not, perhaps on account of focusing too much on her student himself.

Could a teacher learn from the student, then? This one could and just did. She had previously exercised Wurfuhlla in reaching out with the Force to sense his surroundings, map out the area, and right now he had done so without his master’s behest. She would have to congratulate him later.

“Watch out for eels, Pad!” Vayla clowned as much as she cautioned. There could be creatures crawling in that water that would have to be sensed. Vayla attempted to do so just then but sensed nothing. The coast appeared to be clear.

Whatever the body of water was it probably led to a network of other areas. According to that celadon flower from before, well, the Jedi had a way to go so perhaps Wur’s way was the only way.

“WATCH OUT BEHIND YOU!” Vayla teased. Then she jumped. A loud splashed followed. She swam upright right beside her Padawan, matching his glee with her own. The contents of her backpack had been waterproofed for this very trip.

“You are not the easiest Padawan, you know that?” She grinned.

Wurfuhlla had listened to his master speak of eels. To the Wookiee that sounded delicious. Now he hoped for some. A fine dinner they would be, get them cooked over a fire. Mmmmm.

Then she had yelped. Telling him to watch out behind him. Wurfuhlla believing his master, turned around and looked to see if there was something there. There wasn’t. She tricked him. Then in that moment a splash of water hit his back. Did she?

Turning back around he found his master soaked in the water. She jumped in. This was quite fun now. As she told him his difficult he is he responded by splashing water at her.

Surely this sparks a returning splash. The two deserved to have some to time to enjoy being alive. This was fun. Wurfuhlla had wanted to kick back for a while. Under all this training was just a bunch of cramming new things in his head all at once. He wanted to be able to enjoy some downtime.

“And if I was the easy padawan, none of this would be fun, now would it?”

The water was not too bad at all but cool and refreshing. It appeared clean and clear enough in the dark, likely rich with minerals but not to the extent that Vayla was going to lap it up or anything. Then something did just as much for her as water splashed on her face.

Did he just..? The Pantoran scowled at the Wookiee. You did not. Then...SPLASH! She palmed the water toward her target as though punching him, sending a nice stream upon all that wet fur.

“Oh, you want fun, do you?” Vayla grinned. Truth be told she had not considered playing around in a cave anytime soon but that was part of the charm.

The two Jedi had come out here to train, to teach, to learn, to test themselves rigorously day in and day out. That was the master’s way. Yet you have more than one way, don’t you, Vay? Oh, she had a few ways.

“Fun is your next lesson, Pad...though I’m afraid you won’t be having as much as ME!” With that, Vayla suddenly shot aside through the pool while kicking both feet up rapidly, sending the fury of water to storm over her Padawan with no mercy and no regrets.

His master had spoke of fun being his next lesson. Honestly that didn’t sound too bad. Then she flip kicked water to crest a wave of fury. Luckily for Wurfuhlla he was heavy and strong enough the it had little effect. Only made him more wet.

It was his turn. Except with his hand under water he’d create a giant ball of water and float it above her head. Then as he smiled he released the hold sending a massive ball of water on to his master. He had been laughing the whole time. It was so fun.

The Wookiee began to lower into the water and use the force to try to get a grasp on his master and submerge her under the water. That would show her. He expected the same in return. So he was prepared.

“I will win this one easy master!”

Wurfuhlla had excitement in his tone. He smiled and had a playful expression.

All at once, the cave erupted in a roar of splashing and laughing. The two Jedi were in concert as they sought to pulverize one another with naught but water. Wur had beaten his master to the punch by drawing on the Force and popping a bubble over his teacher’s head. Little rascal!

It felt like Vayla was getting a shower from the stone ceiling or something. She didn’t have time to dwell on it. Wur was already trying to score another point. The Wookiee was going down! “A Jedi does not delight in defeating his enemy, Pad!”

At that, Vayla whipped her hands across the water, creating a minor vortex that would spin her Padawan round and round and break his focus on submerging the knight. “She relishes in it!” She cackled in delight.

As the padawan was spinning he caught himself and leaned against the wall as the world around him began to spin uncontrollably.

The Wookiee’s laughter was enough to bring a smile to ones face. He appreciated the good times with his master in this day. They only thing is, he wished it would be the last time.

Of course there would be other opportunities to have fun, but as a Jedi there is much business to tend to, and he knew that he would lose the time to enjoy himself over the course of his Jedi duties.

“Master, thank you. This has been a good few days for me. Back in a jungle, got to learn so much, and cut loose for a moment. You truly are one of the best!”

Just like that, the fun and games came to an end, but really the fun and games had only just begun. As the two Jedi recovered from their antics, Vayla followed up on Wur’s words with a gentler spatter of water upon his face as she flicked her fingers forward.

“I am most happy to hear that, Wurfuhlla!” She hoped that her choosing not to call him “Pad” in that moment would be as meaningful as she had meant it. “In turn, you are one of the best Padawans I have had.”

She hesitated a moment thereafter, choosing not to mention her previous Padawan, at least for now. “You have done much to impress me, not that a Padawan’s focus should be on impressing his master, and I know that yours is not.” She smiled as she waved her arms, keeping afloat above the surface of the pool as they were.

“I can only encourage you to keep going, my apprentice. Keep learning. Keep discovering for yourself what works and what does not. That is, after all, why we are out here.”

Allowing for her Padawan to respond, Vayla would be prompt to follow up. “We have more to come, so I hope you’re ready...because this pool is calling to you, Wur!”

With that, Vayla sprung forward and dunked her Padawan’s head underwater. He would be supplied a rebreather if he had not brought one of his own and the two Jedi were off, navigating beneath the pool to head down the nearest tunnel. Where did it lead?

It was nice to listen to her kind words. She was much nicer than his last master. He liked to train under her so much more. Wurfuhlla was taking in her teachings, because one day it’ll be his turn. Though, for now it was time to discover the caves.

Wurfuhlla put his rebreather in his mouth ready to discover what the under water caves offered. Surely it was riches, or knowledge. In the Jedi case it would most likely be knowledge. Time to find out.

He swam down through the tunnel like area and found nothing for a long moment. Small fish were swimming around. They looked quite delicious, unfortunately Wurfuhlla had to focus on the task at hand.

Towards the end of the tunnel it split into two directions. The Wookiee was unsure of which way to go. So he reached out with the force. If there was something they had to find he would sense it down a certain path. After a few moments his eyes lit up from the feeling he had got. It was faint but it was there. The feeling came from the right.

Wurfuhlla tried relaying it best he could to his master before swimming through. Whatever the path entails would be an adventure to say the least. The Wookiee was ready to see the cool stuff that awaited. What exactly was waiting?

There wasn’t much communicating to be done underwater besides with hand gestures. Reaching the two tunnels that opened up at the end of their current one, Vayla signaled to Wur to reach out and find the way with the Force and was pleased that he was already doing so. They did not want to end up lost down here, however, so the master relied on the same power. Even as the student led the pair, then, he was going the same way his master would have.

A half dozen fish swam with the Jedi before overtaking them, and a moment later more came from the other direction. They were harmless creatures, dark and grey, though a neon blue eel just then appeared in the dark and for a moment Vayla tensed up as she swam. There was nothing to be concerned with as the eel floated beneath these outsiders and disappeared behind them.

The further they swam there was also no concern of the tunnel splitting off yet again. Vayla sensed no immediate danger but there was definitely ‘something’ down here. It felt thin and thick, like grey between white and black; like the center between light and dark. It would be wise to keep on guard no matter what and the master signaled as much to the student.

Her flashlight shined into the black depth as the tunnel opened up into a circle. The Jedi did not need to go much further before the rocky floor illuminated and so did debris: Chunks of stone, a combination of natural and carved (the latter looked simple and ancient), along with fractured vases and urns, and what was clearly the remnant of a sword overtaken by years of water and neglect.

Vayla picked nothing up but shined her torch above the Jedi this time. The light scattered at it struck the surface of water, ripples dancing every which way. Air! Flashing her eyebrows at her Padawan, keeping careful but not containing her excitement, the adventurer that was Vayla swam toward the surface while her thoughts raced on what would be waiting for them. A Massassi training ground? A subterranean temple? A humble hideout? Time would tell.

So much cool stuff right at the bottom of this tunnel way. Looked like long forgotten treasures. Wurfuhlla was definitely interested in their value, but of course he would follow his master’s lead. Can’t be running off doing nonsense.

Then he looked up to see his master swimming to what seems to be the surface. So what else is there to do than to swim up behind her and see what she’s seeing? What was she seeing?

Wurfuhlla made his way to the surface. As he was looking around he noticed it seemed like a storage room. But the room was made of stone. There was a long table in the center and around it were shelves with many texts. Some containers here and there.

Was this once a Massassi council room? There were seats around the table scattered. Everything covered in dust. It was definitely old.

“Master, what can you make of this?”

Vayla broke the surface of the water to find herself surrounded by darkness where her flashlight did not wander. She trailed its beam around the rock like the blade of a lightsaber, letting it reveal urns and crates, chairs and tables, each a long forgotten thing that came to life like shadows parting before a sun. Oh my…

“It looks like...like...some kind of council chamber…”

The master was answering her Padawan as much as speaking to herself, so caught up in this discovery. Council of who? For what? Calmly, the two Jedi exited the pool to walk the floor, the silence broken only by the dripping of water from their bodies as it pitter-pattered on the stone.

Vayla’s fingers trailed a path across the dusty table, hearing ancient discussions slip between her ears like faint echoes, but not quite. She could easily imagine herself sitting at the table and just then noted an overturned chair. Was that a sword beside it? “What do you make of that, Wur?”

While Wurfuhlla would inspect the object, Vayla was once again distracted as her torch shined upon the wall. There was a candle sconce and the wax was ample so the Jedi gave it fire, then another candle, another and another, then the braziers, and soon enough the room gave the Jedi light.

That would help prolong the life of her flashlight as she switched it off and moved to a smaller table with a stone tablet resting upon it. Vayla trailed her fingers through the symbols etched upon the stone and there was no mistaking the language. “Massassi…”

As he surveyed everything, his master had noticed what he didn’t at first. There was a sword lying next to a chair. It was quite ordinary. Made of ancient metal, and rusted. It had definitely been forgotten about for a while. The Wookiee was intrigued by it nonetheless.

He walked over to it, and had picked it up. It was heavy. Of course his strength was enough to hold it effortlessly, but it was definitely something to behold.

“Well master, it’s a sword. I haven’t found anything peculiar about it just yet. If I had to guess, it was left behind in a hurry, then forgotten.”

The padawan placed the sword onto the table to investigate some other portions of the room, then he heard his master say something. It sounded like she had said Massassi, though he wasn’t sure.

“What?”

Vayla heard her Padawan’s words but did not turn to listen as she engrossed herself with the tablet with barely a headshake. “Not just a sword, Pad… It’s history. An artefact. A testament to what was left behind…” And just what was left behind? Her eyes struggled beside her fingers to decipher the text; alas, Massassi was not her forte.

“This tablet...the language is Massassi...symbols upon symbols...but I cannot read them…”

Sighing, Vayla didn’t leave the table but looked around the room. Two walls faced each other on either side, and at one end of the chamber was the pool, with loose rock and broken stone around its edge. At the other end was much the same: rock and stone; rubble from where the ceiling had collapsed, likely from a cave-in.

Too much. Too deep. No way we’re getting through that. Not without bringing the whole cave down with us. She didn't see any obvious doors.

Not willing to give up just yet, however, the Knight returned to the tablet but only after retrieving another text from a shelf. It was no less helpful, its knowledge recorded in as much Massassi as the other, but there was one symbol that stood out. It was one in a number that both tablets shared but this particular symbol appeared only once for either and had an unmistakable design.

“Wur...can you please bring me that sword? I think I’m looking at a sword when I look at this stone tablet.” Vayla smiled. Progress! “One sword of two.”

What exactly was she trying to get at? The Wookiee had stood by as he listened to her trailing words. She was speaking of the sword and to bring it to her. Of course the Padawan would go grab it and bring it to her. What she wanted with the sword was still undetermined by the Wookiee Padawan. Even so, he handed it off to her as she spoke of a second sword. Though the Padawan hadn't found any sign of a second sword within the room.

Wait.. could it have been the one he had seen on his way into the room in the water? He was sure he had seen one in the water all rusted. It was worth the investigation.

"Wait here.. I think I know where the other is."

Wurfuhlla turned around and ran to the edge where the water was as he dove in. When he was running he threw in his rebreather so he breathe while he was looking for it. It wasn't a long swim downward though. A thankful blessing that was gifted upon him. After a short while of swimming towards the bottom, he found the sword. It was covered in rust and looked old. Could even be weak. The Padawan would put his force abilities to use as he pulled the sword up to his hand. Once it made it to his hand he began to swim up to the surface once more. Climbing back into the room he walked to his master,

"Got it master! What exactly do you need these for?"

The Wookiee had stood awaiting the logical reasons his master had conjured up from these ancent texts and swords.

By the time Wurfuhlla had returned from his little swim, Vayla was even more convinced of her theory. The Knight had spent enough time gallivanting across the galaxy to explore here and there, discover this and that, whether to bring it to publicity or keep it hidden forever, and this time was much the same.

While her Padawan had descended back into the pool his master had used the time of silence to channel her thoughts, calm her nerves, reach into her surroundings and beyond, and read symbols of which she had no knowledge of. She only needed to understand two, after all, and she found their source.

“Watch and learn, Wur,” Vayla winked as she nodded toward the second sword and paced away from the tablet. “I cannot read Massassi symbols but I can read symbols…” Aware that her student might have no idea what she was talking about, she continued on anyway.

“Letters are so vague...but images speak a thousand words, no?” She did not need an answer as she held a sword in one hand and felt around a wall with the other. “On those two tablets—and you can look if you want—are two symbols the shape of these two swords.” She pressed the wall here: nothing. There: nothing.

“Each one facing the other direction... On either side of the sword-symbols...a flame...and in the middle of the swords and the flames...a dark square...quite like . . . ”

Trailing off, she gave the wall another push, the firelight of a candle sconce dancing either side of her. “Wur, take your sword and help me!”

With that, Vayla pressed her own sword against the wall, the blade facing the ceiling diagonally, and motioned for her Padawan to do the same at an opposite angle. From there, well, it was a matter of hoping for the best...and waiting on the results.

At this point the Wookiee padawan believed his master to be clinically insane. Though not truly believing it. She seemed to be on to something yet, it was just a thought. The tablet could speak truth. It could speak lies. She would never know, because she can’t actually read it.

He listened as she explained the images on the tablet and how the swords would be set with where at. It was confusing to say the least. Wurfuhlla just tried to get a grip on the point. When she walked back and grabbed a sword and began placing it on the wall in a certain angle, the Wookiee began to realize what she was getting at.

Wurfuhlla grabbed his after she told him to do the same as her, just on the opposite side in an opposite direction. So he did. Placing the sword at a diagonal angle mirroring the sword his master held. Flames began to ignite on each side of the Wookiee. It seemed to work. But what next? Well he would find out soon enough.

Sometimes it was a clear understanding of the path ahead that led a Jedi onward, and not just a Jedi; anyone, for that matter. Sometimes, however, it was a daring leap, a tango with sanity; breaking the bindings of rationale in order to brave the boundless expanse of the unknown. That, Vayla knew, was the call of the explorer, for the adventurer knew no bounds. Though, the Jedi did, and yet the shadows in their midst had limits of their own

“Fire lights the way…” Vayla delighted as the two candle sconces on either side of both Jedi suddenly blazed. That was not all. If Wurfuhlla had not elected to observe those two tablets (likely too excited) then he really would have no idea of what to expect...but his master had and did. "...Casting a shadow..."

After some attempts, the two swords were positioned just so, mirroring the runes on the stone tablets. The candlelight had been enough to illuminate the wall closest to both sconces, by consequence creating a shadow in the wall’s center—the ‘dark square’ symbol.

Both swords had found their home, the roaring flames painting the picture, and what could only be the Force or, perhaps, a magnetic mechanism, holding those swords in place even as both Jedi released their grip. There was a click! just then, like a key in a lock, and the shift of stone, and suddenly the center wall began coughing dust as it shifted backward.

A door… Vayla’s eyes widened as she stood still, too excited to move as if the feat were possible, watching the slab of rock keep sliding backward with two swords embedded on one side. A door? That meant one thing. A doorway...

Vayla had been sure of this. So the Wookiee would follow along and do as she asked. It would be by some miracle that the swords and the square on the tablet matched with the wall once the two had their swords in position. Wurfuhlla let go as he felt the sword being pulled against the wall. Could this place be oozing with the force like he suspected? Or were the Massassi very inginuitive with magnification.

The walls spat dust off and the rock moved to open. It was in fact a door, Where did it lead though? For all the Jedi know it could lead to a hidden howler den. There was only one way to find out for sure. That was to go in and see whats down the path that has appeared before them. Wurfuhlla led the way with his purple hue from one of his two blades ignited filling the area. It grew darker and darker the further they went in, losing the light from the flames at the entrance.

"Master, what do you suppose is down this path?"

The Wookiee was unsure of lied ahead and just wanted to be able to have an idea of what he'll see as they walk down this very dark path. Eventually there was a fork in the path. Wurfuhlla looked back to the superior Jedi on this quest and gave a look of confusion to ask what to do. He was unsure and hadn't wanted to split but the paths had the exact same auras coming from each. The only way to truly cover all of the ground was to split, but then she'd be leaving her padawan to deal with gods knows what. The choice was hers..

Well, Wurfuhlla was certainly braver than most, which was not saying much given his expression of courage thus far displayed especially in the jungles of Yavin. Still, his master could not help but beckon a hand forth as if to call him back, her own excitement getting the better of her yet as no voice came between her lips.

The Wookiee was onward, forward and toward, and the Pantoran was right behind and beside him. She kept her lightsaber clipped to her belt, not needing its light where a flashlight did well enough, the torch illuminating the walls of the corridor leading from the doorway.

Yellow light intertwined with purple light, the latter from Wur’s lightsaber, which was a bit of the norm when it came to Jedi; they were so often withdrawn from carrying flashlights where a lightsaber worked well enough. Vayla just liked to be prepared.

As the Jedi came to an intersection much as they had underwater not too long ago, both Knight and Padawan were united in which way to go. Now...now the Knight was suddenly clouded as to which way to take… Was her apprentice?

“Left.”
Vayla confirmed as she turned in the direction. “No. Right.” She turned that way. Then to Wurfuhlla with a sigh.

“I...don’t know… The Force is strong either way, equally… I sense...much the same…” She placed a hand on her friend’s shoulder. “Either way, Wur, we go as one. Together. Or not at all. Now come on!”

With that, Vayla forked right, her Padawan in tow.
