Hi Mum.
Sorry I haven't sent you any bigger messages in awhile - got kind of caught up in my own world you know? No excuse for being such a shitty son but, hey, least I admit it right?
Yeah so updates... updates updates updates... right so you know I told you that I made it to Knight? Short little message that time too but I didn't really know what it was gonna actually be like, you know, so I didn't know what to say except "Woohoo I got it". Now I'm getting my first taste of what it actually means to be a Knight and, apparently, it means they think I'm a responsible adult.
Right?
I didn't believe it either but they seriously do.
Something to do with all the growing as a person I've been doing or something I don't even know. Anyway, the point is that they've decided to pair me up with a Padawan - I'm now responsible for some kid with way too much energy, power and way too little self-control. Karking hells Mum, was I like that growing up? Because we can skip me needing to be a parent to be able to tell how great a job you did with me because I've already got the Kid to watch over.
I've only had Clove as my Padawan for a day and I already know that I'm gonna be losing sleep making sure she doesn't get herself killed and worrying whenever she isn't. Freaking hell, when did I grow up and have responsibilities?
Well... guess I can say you prepared me for it. Hans helped too in his own way but a lot of the time I still think about what you would do when I'm trying to think my way out of a situation because I don't really feel ready for it, you know? Like they seem to think I'm responsible enough but sometimes I default to thinking what you would do because you're my go-to when it comes to responsibility and dependability.
I don't know if I can do it as well as you did with me, mum, but the kid deserves me to at least try to be as good for her as you were for me.
