high school fleet/ish rp intrest check.

So it has been ages since I have ran a story but I was wondering if this would be something anyone would be interested in. If you have never heard of high school fleet it is an anime (i know right) that I kind of fell in love with because I am a huge military history fan and I love tanks and ships and basically anything that would be considered heavy metal. So the basic premise of the story is that a natural disaster happened and basically most of the world is underwater after some big war. Why you ask, because reasons that's why. Because of this maritime trade is at an all time high as those countries that are now buried underwater live on either ships or on the few points that are submerged. This has lead to a group calling themselves the Blue Mermaids to appear in japan. Now while I must admit I am not sure how far the organization spread I can be sure that the general idea is seen as far away as Germany. To join the the Mermaids you have to join a naval high school where you classroom is the ship you serve on, generally WWII vintage ships of all classes and sizes. Each class is spread into task forces/fleets lead by an instructor who is usually on a modern ship. Generally they are drilled and assist in blue mermaid operations. Each student holds a position on the ship and act as engineers, command staff, and all the other positions. Generally speaking all the ships are modernized to the point that they only require small crews as most of the more dangerous functions are automated. Like working in the turret or in other similar locations.

So the idea I have is your characters go to a very prestigious multinational private high school/naval college based in Hawaii. The general idea is that you all are enrolled in this class and have ended up in the remedial class for one reason or another. Depending on if their is interest or not I was going to leave it up to the players to choose whether or not you all serve on one ship or if you would all like to be captains on your own ships. depending on the choice made I will propose a few ship classes, or take some if you have any fun options, and put it up to a vote at that point I will assign roles on the ships and then we will head out to the sea. lastly this doesn't have to be based on show as it would be easy enough to make my own story.

I'd never imagine I'd see Haifuri on this forum. In terms of Blue Mermaids, I was under the impression it's a global humanitarian organization, so every nationality is eligible to join as long as they meet the qualifications.

I have some interest in doing one, but I'm hesitant in terms of my time commitments. I do want to get back to being involved in the SWRP stories over the summer, though I still need to figure out my time management over the summer with that on top of my new job and doing volunteer work as a tester for World of Warships, which is ramping up its development cycle to every 2 weeks (which is crazy).

yeah with the blue mermaids I wasn't sure since I have never read the manga. I mean If its a global group I can run it as such which I like better. yeah mean I am not going to be all over everyones case but if you get time I would love to have you. I just think it would be a fun something maybe different to due.
