CK sat there with his arms supporting his slouched over body on feet of one of the many more prominent statues right outside the door to one of the training rooms. He was having a conversation with his own master, who was standing beside him, seeing as this was his first student. The council had finally decided to give him a student, to go along with his newfound rank of Knight and seeing as how they now trusted him enough to mold one of the minds of a Padawan. Young? CK scoffed, definately not young. The alien Padawan he was supposed to train was only a year younger then him, and CK could only imagine the possible conflicts that could arise from such a delicate situation.

His female Sephi master put her hand on his shoulder for support, "So they finally gave you a Padawan eh? I hear he's quite the athlete. At least you won't have to worry too much about the physical training."

CK responded in an indifferent tone, "Yea, I guess so." The fact that he had absolutely no choice in the matter of who his first student would be was what bothered CK the most. It tolded him that the council trusted him, but not as much as he would have liked.

Sylali searched his feeling with the force and found his concern quickly, "You know the council does trust you," she assured him. CK could only nod as the many things on his mind prevented him from having any further reaction. His master picked up on the slightest feeling of nervousness inside him, a rare emotion she felt from the pupil she'd trained. "Don't worry, you'll do fine, look here your student comes now, I'd best leave you to it," she said, walking off to go attend to her own duties.

CK moved his head slightly to the left to see his new student approaching. He continued to sit on the statue while other Jedi gawked at his sheer lack of care for whether or not he was being disrespectful to the statue.

It was hard to take in the sights of the temple. Raasman's gaze was constantly occupied by one thing or another as he weaved awkwardly through the students. He felt awkward, it seemed as if he was the only one in the temple that didn't own the customary robes that identified you as a Jedi. But he had been here for only two days, and he was sure that time would come, where he would don the robes of a Jedi, achieving a goal his "father" had wanted more out of him than Raasman did himself. Raasman was more indifferent than excited. In fact, the flight over to Ossus was more exciting than his stay at the temple so far. But the sights were miraculous nonetheless.

"Hey, watch it!" A small boy shouted as he scurried through the crowd, datapad in hand, his training saber clanking against his leg.

Raasman couldn't help but smile. He could tell the boy was ecstatic to be here. Maybe I'll feel that way. Maybe... Raasman looked around at the other students for one of the first times. His age and height allowed him to tower over some of the younger students. He felt even more awkward, being one of the oldest students he could see. He sighed and drew out his datapad, reviewing the instructions. He opened up the map of the temple, and realized he was very near to his destination. Somewhat startled, he stopped in the middle of the surging crowd, drawing a few disgruntled remarks; and looked around, before seeing a large statue, with a figure slouching onto it.

"Is that him?" Raasman murmured, tucking his datapad back into one of his belt's pouches. He moved perpendicular to the raging current of the river of bobbign heads, finally making it into a clear zone that surrounded the statue.

"Are you, uh..." Raasman took a hasty peek at his datapad, then slid it back in his pouch covertly, "CK? Is that right?"

CK smiled, "That's right, that's what they call me." Still sitting on the statue, he couldn't help but notice that he wasn't the only one getting odd looks, but his unusually old student was getting those same looks as well. CK couldn't help but let out a laugh, perhaps they were one in the same in a few areas. He dropped down from the feet of the statue and patted them with his left hand. "I only got a few rules," he started, "I know I'm not much older then you, so I won't expect you to call me master or anything like that," the truth was that he never liked hearing formalities or honorifics put around his name, "Second, I ask that you do what I say without question. It's not an obedience thing, it's just that things I may ask you to do might seem a little odd, but I promise you they're all for the betterment of your own training, and that if we're ever on missions they could save your life." Leaving his last statement at that, CK waited for his response so that they could head into the training room to his right.

The laughter caught Raasman with an odd sting. whether or not he was laughing at his new student or something else entirely puzzled him, but he forced the thought out of his mind.

"Yes sir," Raasman bowed his head slightly, the almost ritualistic movement he preformed every time he met someone of authority. His "father" was to blame for that, "Always sir."

Raasman shifted his satchel's placement, freeing his hip of the weight, and fidgeted nervously. No matter what he had felt prior to meeting his master, was wiped away, and replaced with a feeling of awkwardness. He forced himself to stop his fidgeting, and looked up to his master for orders.

Hearing his student call him "sir" right after having just told him not not made CK laugh again, "I thought I told you not to call me Sir, Master, or anything like that. You can just call me CK, that's alright with me." He smiled, in an attempt to calm his student down, seeing the Nautolan's blatant nervousness CK decided that perhaps laughing wasn't the best thing to do in this situation, feeling some of his student's concerns through the force.

He began walking toward the training room door and opening it through the force with a wave of his hand said, "Listen, when I laugh, I'm not laughing at you, and even if i was, you shouldn't let those kinds of things bother you. Caring what other people think about you is pointless, everyone's always going to think something different that you have no control over and ultimately all that matters is your own image you have of yourself."

Raasman nodded apologetically, and listened intently to his master. He followed CK towards the door, which was flung open with what Raasman understood to be the force. He hadn't done much, but he had done most of his homework. He marveled at this ability, and picked up his pace, following closely behind his master, listening to the speech he had heard his mother tell him countless times. He scanned the room they entered, looking for anything important.

"What exactly is this place?" Raasman asked, waiting a few moments before speaking as to not appear rude.

OOC: Don't worry about post length or quality at all dude, I have times when I just can't seem to think of anything to say or detail to add, and it all just depends on the moment.

IC: CK walked inside and looked around, nostalgia hit him like a rancor's claw. "This is one of the many training rooms of the Jedi Temple on Ossus." Looking around he noted all the old, familiar, resources he had to work with from back when he was first being trained. There were various objects of all shapes, weights, and sizes to work on force telekenisis, while there were a series of training sabers and remotes lined up in a rack to right right, some advanced holocomputer networking that was force activated and could be used to teach students one of the many typically learned subjects, such as history and diplomacy. The room had access to all he would need to start the training of his new student and CK had hardly thought about where to begin.

Reaching for the rack of training sabers almost right away, CK said, "This is something like what I was trained in while I was a Padawan at the temple on Alderaan." he sized up Raasman, and sized up the sabers before him on the rack noting size, shape and body structure and type. Tossing Raasman a saber CK said, "Take this and get a feel for it real quick, these sabers are on a low setting, so they can't pierce the skin and only barely are able to stun. I guess I'm going to get a feel for what your lightsaber style is before I teach you anything, so that I can plan out the rest of your training regime."

(OOC: sorry about the wait. I went and had dinner and for my afternoon run.)

Raasman listened intently to his master, scanning his surroundings just as his master was. CK's voice broke him of his trance, and tossed Raasman a training saber. Raasman caught it, startled. He pressed the activation switch, watching as the blade sizzle to life. He turned it this way and that, examining the beautiful weapon in front of him.

"So, what is it you want me to do?" Raasman asked, still twirling the saber through the air.

( I just wrote this on my blackberry :D

OOC: Its all good, life is more important then RP always. And damn, I've actually never used a phone for the internet.

IC: CK saw his student's awe at the blade he was moving around in front of himself and couldn't help but to smile. Looking down at the rack of training sabers he grabbed one for himself. "I want to see how you would fight with a lightsaber, without any previous experience wielding such a weapon."

OOC: This is where you should decide what lightsaber style you want your character to learn. My character uses his own style of Form VII that is in depthly explained in my character profile. You can learn any style you want, seeing as the training rooms have holo-training excersizes for virtually all forms of lightsaber combat.

IC: Igniting his own training saber, CK slowly walked to the other end of the training room, casually keeping it the blade down at his side, indicating that he was taking almost no particular stance. Untying a piece of cloth from his wrist, CK then tied it over his eyes, blindfolding himself entirely. Facing in Raasman's direction he said, "I want you to come at me now, full force without holding back. Do with your body and lightsaber whatever feels most natural. Your utilization of the lightsaber should be an expression of yourself."

OOC: Just name any lightsaber style you want to learn or think your character would most fit OOC and I will implement that into my character's assessment of your's style.

OOC: I am thinking of going with Soresu to match Raasman's more timid personality. Possibly with bits of Ataru mixed in because of his acrobatic background, but I'll wait later before getting too in-depth

IC: "You... You want me to attack you?" Raasman cocked his head at an angle, watching his master apply the blindfold questionably.

Raasman glanced down at the training saber, examining the tool in his hands. He slowly returned his gaze towards his master, knowing not to underestimate his skills, even if he is blindfolded. Raasman slowly brought his saber up to gaurd as much of his body as possible, and put all of his weight on his back foot in case he needed to backstep. He sighed once to clear his mind, exhaling slowly with his eyes closed. His sense sharpened, his eyes flashed open, ready to defend himself.

OCC: Okay cool.

"Like I said when I first met you, when I say something I mean it," CK had at first thought his student would be inclined to using Ataru due to his acrobatic background, but now he could feel his student's hesitation, it was unbecoming of the offensively oriented Ataru. Reaching out with the force, CK peered into Raasman's mind, he could feel the hesitation, and the preperation of his student's stance. Being blindfolded was nothing new to CK, his first master had ensured that using the force was CK's primary sense of sight over his eyes, and not the other way around, his student would be foolish to think otherwise. But his student's indecision on whether or not to attack was fine with CK, he prefered having himself on the offensive in real fights anyways.

Slowly jogging forward, CK gave a quick slash with his lightsaber towards Raasman's midsection. A test, just to see how he would react. CK made sure that while the pace was fast, it would not be overwhelming for his new student (at least based on what he'd gathered from assessing him visually as well as through the force) but if not, at least his student would learn that the training sabers could not actually hurt him.

Raasman instinctively moved his glade a few centimeters in order to block the attack, then pushed his opponentKs blade back, and took advantage of his stance to take a step backwards, while simultaneously transforming hois blade into a horizontal barrier against his master.

"Was that correct?" Raasman asked, placing his weight on his front foot this time.

OCC: shit dude this thing just deleted my entire post because I accidently clicked the back button, so this next post is going to be a shitty summary of the former.

"Correct?" perhaps his student wasnt quite fully understanding the point he was trying to get across, "I dont want you to worry about what is correct or incorrect, I want you to react according to whats in your nature." Seeing his student so hesitant to go on the offensive despite two provocations from him, CK was begining to think that perhaps his student was more inclined to Soresu.

Seeing as how his student was easily able to block his last attack, CK wondered if he hadn't misjudged his student's ability. This time he would speed things up a bit. Coming at his pupil once more, this time somewhat faster then the last, CK feinted a strike towards Raasman's shoulder but instead came across with a low kick at the back of his pupil's knee joint. He did this last manuever at a slow pace, leaving himself purposefully open for a counterattack.

OOC: don't worry, it's happened to me before :)

IC: Raasman attempted to step away from his masters attack, but managed to be only partially successful. He felt the sting of CK's boot heel grazing him.

"Okay. Sorry." Raasman apologized.

Suddenly, Raasman noticed an opening, but it was too obvious. His headtresses picked up on his master's change in pheremones, realizing this was on purpose. Raasman deactivated his blade, and did a swift frontflip over his master, spinning while in middair, and landing in a crouch facing his master.

Raasman placed his open palms on the floor beneath him, and flung his stiff leg towards the back of his master's legs in an attempt to sweep him off his feet.

Feeling his slow kick come into slight contact, CK couldn't help but to notice that his pupil was taking his time to think each attack through. What further suprised him was how intuitive his student was capable of being in realising that he was leaving himself open purposefully. At the epitome of his student's insight was seen through his forsight enough to create his own opening from the very situation. Of course, the movements weren't so fast that a Jedi Knight like himself could not detect them through the force. Casually jumping over the sweep, when he had come back down, CK took off the blindfold he had placed on himself.

"Good," he said. That was all CK had needed to see, his student was very inclined towards Soresu, if not somewhat Djem So through the way he had counterattacked. He figured it was somewhat inevitable that some of Raasman's acrobatics would find their way into his style. "Thats enough for the lightsaber assesment. For now I want you to practice blocking these remotes." With that, CK had teleneticallly grabbed and activated one of the remotes so that his student could get a better understanding of his weapon and its strengths and limitations. Soon he would begin the blindfold training to teach him how to feel through the force. Then, once he could establish a steady connection... well then the real training in manifestations of the force would come through.

OOC: this training thread is probably one of the most fun I've had RPing :D

Raasman rose from his crouching position, hearing his knee joints pop rather loudly. He clipped the training saber to his belt. And placed his hands casually at his waist.

"Remotes?" Raasman asked, watching his master lift the "remotes" telekinetically, an ability he was becoming more and more used to.

OOC: Thanks, Ive been enjoying it myself

"The remotes are for your training, essentially, they shoot out light blaster fire that's set to stun so that you can get used to specific control with your lightsaber." Activating one, CK continued, "You're supposed to block each blast, and the program will steadily increase in difficulty as you get more and more acustomed to your saber. It shouldn't be too hard for you to get the natural hang of, but I'm going to add a twist to it. I want you to wear this blindfold straightaway and block each blast. Let go of your body's natural instinct telling you to rely on your senses and give into your feelings. This is how you will become more attuned to the force around you, and mastery of this excersize is essential in opening the door to the larger world known as the Force."

"So, I learn to use the force as essentially another sense, or as an extension to my senses?" Raasman asked, accepting the blindfold hesitantly.

The idea of blocking a blaster bolt by itself seemed near impossible. Doing it while blindfolded seemed suicidal. Raasman fastened the blindfold and ignited the emerald training saber he had recived earlier. He took deep, infrequent breaths in an attempt to calm himself.

"Precisely," CK replied. Seating himself down on the floor as the remote zoomed about the room.

Its sensory units detecting the activation of his saber, the remote seemed to click into action and change its pattern of flight. Random intervals of time seperated random openings of the remotes many blast holes as it attempted to make its "opponent" guess as to which of its many blast holes would be next to fire. Zooming about, the remote let out a lone blast towards Raasman's lower thigh. It was set to stun, so he had nothing to worry about, but at the same time, the remote was programmed to start firing towards nolethal areas, just to give the padawan a feel for its capacity.

The initial blast caught Raasman off gaurd, the pain of surprise stinging worse than the blaster bolt. Relax, Raasman thought, attempting to clear his mind of some of the debris that had manifested themsekves within the walls of his skull.

Raasman felt his senses sharpen as he focused. He heard the subtle hum the remote emitted as it bobbed in the air, waiting for the timer to go out before it shot. The remote fired once more, striking Raasman's thigh once more, but Raasman had made a move to block the bolt rather than accept as he had previously. This time, he focused on the remote. He let all things slip through the grip of his mind, with the exception of the training remote. His other senses took over, which painted a basic vision of what lay in front of him.

Once more, the remote fired. This time Raasman had somewhat anticipated the attack, and moved his saber into a horizontal barrier as he had done earlier. The blaster bolt struck the saber and sizzled off into nothingness. Almost instantaneously, the remote retaliated, sending another bolt towards Raasman. He angle his blade slightly downwards, and caught the bolt towards the end of his saber.
